My guess is one or more kobolds.

It was just a couple of Kobolds... Odd. Usually they announce themselves and spout empty threats to tickle me to death.

I think my two companions are too strong, though. Neither one can stand, yet they are faster than me and end up killing everything before I get close.

It's a side effect of the token that turns their language into ever-changing gibberish. The kobold was probably insulting you and your mother and spouting off a list of kills as long as a dwarf's beard, but you couldn't understand a word he said since it was all just gibberish to you.

Well, your kobold thieves feed my war dogs at the entrance regularly so I wouldnt say kobold strike teams are any good.

This is semantics.  You can't besiege something that isn't a man-made structure.

If you are a single char, you can be ambushed... assaulted... accosted... pretty much everything BUT besieged.
