I propose that we change the prefixes of verb tenses because the general tense is more common and therefore should be shorter. the unga form is longer and harder to use due to the last letter being a vowel.
so
general form: -un
continuous form: -unga

That was indeed very helpful, hoplite. Thank you. I also thought about that; -un was originally the general form and -unga was the continuous but I actually thought that the general was less common than the continuous for some reason so I swapped them around. You're right though, it should be as you suggested.

I don't know which is more common in spoken English but I'd imagine that since we're creating language for community use and stories, the general form is probably more used.

Actually, I almost think that present tense general shouldn't have prefix at all.

We could maintain a message like that and regularly update it when necessary.
