You climb the mountain up, slowly, with sharp eyes, ears and a sensitive nose. You don't know if the didn't make ambushes or something like that.
But you get peacefully to a good watch spot, where you can see the base from the kurds. Lucky you.
Not so lucky, when you think about it. There is a scout, wachting the base with a SVD.
A watcher for intruders, but luckily for you, he didn't notice you yet.

Now?

Make a loud, but not recognizable, noise.  Like an animal call.  Immediately rush to a new spot.  If the scout approaches, or calls other people to approach, wait.  If there is one person ( maybe two ) then silently take him ( them? ) out by throwing the combat knife at the person(s)'s torso.  If there is more people than we can handle, just hide.

You clear your troat and hide then in a patch of dry grass. You blend in well.

"Huh? What was that?" (Black = languages you don't understand)
The scout stands up and goes to you. Maybe because he noticed a cough. Not normal.
"Is there somwhere? Hellloooo?"
He looks around, you smell his sweat and gunpowder on him.
He is a bit out of breath. Maybe he's stressed?
"Oh allah, now I'm hallucinating...Whatever."
He shrugs and goes back to his spot, knees down and guards the base.

Let me explain the combat system!

There are three basic attacks.

Shoot =fire your weapon at choice
Takedown = Punches, kicks, throws, simply force to kill or knock out enemies.
Grab = Grab your enemy, using him as meatshield. In this state, you can strangle him k.o. or dead, takedown him or interrogate him.

The combat is based on dices (RANDOM.org, hooray.)

You get a 20
Your enemies get dices depending on their experience. (usuallly 6. Yes, 6. Goons)
You throw an attack dice, they throw a defense dice. When your dice is bigger, you get 'em.
Then your enemies throw an attack dice, you throw a defense dice. When they dice is bigger, they wound you.

Pretty simple, hmm?

Oh, also, enemies, that you attack unnoticed get a -6 on their dice.
Yes, that means you can kill/knock out goons easily.

You stand up, sneak a little bit forward...
*cough*
Flee'n'hide!
"OKAY! WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING HERE! I NEED A FUCKING REST OR SOMETHING!"#
He looks pissed, but he stand up, grumbling and search for you again.
"Huh?"
He spotted you.
"What is this..."
Slowly he's approaching you...
He comes nearer and nearer...
You jump up, grab his clothes and pull him nearer.
"Wha?"
You get behind him, encompass his neck with your left arm, pushes away the SVD and grab his right arm with your remaining hand.
"DON'T HURT ME, PLEASE!"
You add pressure with your left arm on his throat, cutting of the blood supply to his brain.
He struggle a few brief seconds, but then he loses his consciousness.
That was easy.

And now?

Loot him, but leave him alive, for questioning.

My God, so many Snake Eater flashbacks...

I haven't played Splinter Cell, so I'm not haunted by flashbacks from THAT game.

Yeah, I've actually played some of SC: Conviction, so I know part of it.  There are no night vision goggles, or chokeholds, in that game though  :(

There are in the older ones.

Conviction is much more fast-paced, though.
