I think the demo is very backwards. The current version never crashed on me, it has most critical bugs fixed.

Guys, YOU CAN DRIVE CARS! F7 to spawn a car, space to mount a driver seat (controls), or mount a second seat and shoot from there.
Love this game. I can't wait until vehicles get added.

It handles pretty terrible at the moment, and you cannot run people over =(

As for the demo, I think Pasik is focused on the next version. I don't know what his plans for the demo are, but I'd imagine he'd want to release -something-. Perhaps even a multiplayer demo that only allows you to play on a very tiny map with like 5 bots. Perhaps something akin to Speedball for paintball. with no capture points.

Before that can happen, AI for people who don't shoot weapons needs to be put in (I.E. zombie mods and all that jazz)

It handles fairly okay. And you CAN run people over.

For starship troopers TC I am waiting for melee attack script and different movement speeds for factions. If you mean the movie. If you mean the book (where bugs used guns), then it's possible.

I've been having fun with the demo, but I have one question before buying: Is there a map, minimap, compass, directional/objective indicator, or anything at all for battlefield navigation in the current version? That's been the only frustration for me; I never know where I am, I never know where I'm going, and I never know where I'm supposed to be going, so I end up wandering around completely lost, or just hanging out with a large group of AI.

I have no idea what any of the keybinds mean in the demo, Key12 is not a button on here. (well it is, i just have no idea what). Have they changed that?

Yes, in the current version all of the buttons have proper names. I had completely forgotten that they used to just have numbers. Just fiddle around with the buttons and you'll figure it out. The move, shoot, and climb buttons are the most important along wisth crouching and throwing grenades, so make sure those are set.

"Delete" key (above the arrowkeys) shows the list of players and the score, by the way.

Page up and page down also changes the maximum amount of squad AI you want, so if you want you can set it to 0 and go lone wolf. Generally if you crouch down and don't shoot your friendly Ai won't shoot enemies unless a firefight breaks out, letting you stealth them.

Okay, I'll admit: when I bought this, I expected it to be a fun time-waster, well worth the price, and to a certain extent it was. I was getting to the point where SP was starting to feel a bit boring and I was wishing there were populated MP servers. That's when the sniper rifles started showing up. I'd just like to thank the dev, both for the way the sniper rifles handle, and for not throwing them into the mix right away, letting the scale of the battle slowly build up. The way the MGs, shotguns, and sniper rifles start gradually appearing more and more just feels great, and using the third of those is immensely satisfying. The way they feel really just scratches an itch very well, both for the long-range proned out fire support role, and for the run&gun segments when you're helping to push up. All that it would take for it to be essentially perfect (IMO) would be sidarms.

Other things that really feel great are the secondary crosshair/slope and cover indicator, both for sniping and because otherwise it'd be damn near impossible to tell where there were small slopes. Also, being able to reload single shells into the Mossburg without having to start a full reload.

Deon your mod is very fun, one bug I have noticed is that the Human side tend to send like 20 odd troops to the very south of the map for no reason every time I play.

Well, there's nothing there on the map, so it's the faulty AI :). The further the game progresses, the better should AI be.
