Didn't you try to run a few games of it on the forum? How did they go?

They went OK but as is wont to happen with forum games, none of them finished.

Well the first and second game are a result of the original sin.

The second game isn't about the second sin :P

I don't really see what's clever about it.

Now that it's almost over, the BattleTech KS. Every goal met. Every backer mission reward achieved except (so far) the twitch-streamed dev tabletop session.

I'm happy enough about this that I upped from the minimum for the game to the $85 level for beta access and juicy exclusive shinies/to help support their live team for post-release development of extra multiplayer features.

So here's a quick question for you all: on the one hand, you have a company that went over-budget and tremendously delayed on one Kickstarter, and on another early access game effectively cheated by kicking the last EA version to release and calling it quits, then decides to go to a separate crowd-funding system on which they serve a key advisory role instead of going through Kickstarter or Indiegogo.  On the other hand, they're now soliciting funds for Psychonauts 2.  Do you post this in the "Kickstarter gone right" or the "Kickstarter gone wrong" thread? :P

I have to admit I never finished the game.  The meat circus was too much.

I've never even played it, and have little to no interest in a sequel. I watched someone else play it and thought the whole thing was a bit lacking.

And their kickstarter history does not inspire confidence.

God damnit. I want Psychonauts 2 to be a thing, but that history does not inspire confidence.

Well, no. I want 3D platformers to be a relevant genre again.

I think they realized that SBDF9 was not going to turn out the way they hoped.  Even if they finished all the features, it still wouldn't be "fun."  But they couldn't just scrap it.

Broken Age I'm pretty happy with though, even if it did come as two halves.  Great return to the genre (now if only I could find the time to finish it!)

If anything, failing a few times just means that the most likely now know how to avoid failing again!  :D
