didn't play that. i enjoyed discworld noir, baldurs gate, torment, etc. but that's beside the point, but i much prefer sylvain chomet to pixar, and that's what i was expecting from a new broken sword. instead i got ultra high quality visuals in full 3d glory, and i lost all the interest

Full HD glory. It's pre-rendered 3D, same as most sprite games, including all those you mention.

I already posted a pic showing what these "pre-rendered 3D sprites" look like.

to be fair

The characters in the movie do not reflect the absolutely final results.
so they might improve on that a bit. i doubt they'll manage to recover the charm of traditional animation the original games had, though

Game characters are created and animated in 3D and then pre-rendered and saved as 2D frames so we can deliver ultra high quality visuals in full HD glory.

Wai whaaaa huh?

George Stobart what are you doing there!?!

Why do you look so different?

But still GEORGE STOBART!?!

Edit addition: Actually reading further I see that Broken sword actually has a kickstarter and this... actually is George Stobart...

DANG it kickstarter... Stop having soo many projects I honestly am in love with...  mean... George Stobart! Its George Stobart! What next Gabriel Knight?

Is Gabriel Knight somewhere in here?

I mean forget it... Forget everything it is George Stobart! George Stobart! I mean sure they are ripping off the first game in the series but it was the best game in the series... and it is George STOBART! I never thought the game would EVER be revived.

I am litterally saying GEORGE STOBART over and over right now.

You can rip off your own game.

Which they are kinda doing... this is almost EXACTLY how the first game started.

that doesn't bother me at all, and i don't think it is that similar. on the other hand, upon re-watching the kickstarter video i reiterate my point. the character models are hideous and the animations are awful, i'd rather they went with plain 3d than these 2d-sprites-of-pseudo-2d-3d-models...
if they make it a power-goal to make the game in full 2d, i'll join

Man in disguise sneaks into a public building and kills a man and steals their seemingly useless object. All the pizza box needs to have is an explosive and it is complete.

It is sort of the same start up.

Mind you once again... the first was my favorite in the series (I think the second was pretty bad) so I really don't mind.

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

So, they reached the base goal for Broken Sword, and revealed all the stretch goals.

It caps at 1 Million bonus stretch goal. If they reach it, they greenlight Beneath a Steel Sky 2!

A friend of mine pointed out the Space Elevator KS again, with the note that they're less than $10,000 away from moving from "collection of hobbyist volunteers" back into "actual company."

They're at $91,302 and that stretch goal is $100,000 and the guy's actual goal.

They've got 21 hours left and it'd be really cool to see them hit that goal.

Honestly...

I kinda want to say that is a terrible stretch goal.

Mind you Beneath the Steel Sky is hardly a bad game... but this is like "If you give us this much money... we will put that money in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME!"

It is practically a slap in the face.

Mind you while I doubt it will get its 80k... I really hope it does.

Well, there's only so much you can do, and if they got that much money I would rather them spend on BSS 2 than try and jam extra features in the game.

Projection is 583,000 to 704,000, based on the trend.
