Turn 5: Unfortunate AccidentsSneak up on fishmen, then stabbity stab the most unaware looking one.
((You shall be a guinea pig to determine the effects of Stealth and stealth detection as skills.))
[8-1] vs [1-1] You sneak up on a fishman.
[9-1+2-1] vs [4-1] You then proceed to unleash a cascade of rusty pointed iron on the poor sod. It collapses instantly.
You are now visible to the other fishmen.
+2 Stealth
Now Dabbling Sneaker!
+2 Shivver
Now Dabbling Shivver!"What on good and fertile land is happening here?!"
Scavenge for a shield then a weapon, in that order.
Apologize frankly to the fisherman under grounds of self-defense.
OR follow whatever the guy with that iron dagger tells me, for he looks stronger and better.
Edit: Weapon is preferably a bow with arrows (a peasant can wish.)
OR a sling and some rocks!
[6] You find a tower shield! The man holding it asks why you're grabbing his tower shield. He looks angry.
[3] The fishmen don't feel like approaching the man with the tower shield just to stab you.
Call myself Benjamin, the Washerwoman, and scrabble about for a weapon!
[1] You stumble into a pike. At least, that's the guard's story.
[9+2] vs [3-1] It's a very deep wound. Apparently you were walking quite briskly when you tripped.
[2] The guards disavow all responsibility for your clumsiness, and continue loafing about as you bleed to death.
+3 Dodger
Now Dabbling Dodger!
-9 HP
Bleeding to deathNedenir checks if he is far away enough already and shield bashes the spear again until the enemy lets go of it. If shit happens, dodge.
Hopefully, Nedenir will be able to get that spear. And avoid dying in the process.
((Ouch. I think the -10 hp threshold for death is way too deadly. One bad roll and you are irreedemably screwed.)
[6+1] vs [1+2] You bash the fishman's spear out of its hands. [2] It immediately flees in the other direction.
[6] vs [5] Your peasants continue to just barely win.
No, You May Not Learn Tropomancy!
Can I-Stop Asking!
Damn it!
Accept aid!
[10] vs [10] Man and fish move with incredibly strength and speed, fighting over the fate of your delicious legs.
[7] vs [1] It's your own struggles that make the difference, however, and you find yourself free of the groundbound fish.
[1] The guard presses his swordpoint to your throat and demands to know just what you thought you were trying there.
Those monsters all look dangerous and I should find a foe more suited to my skill level.
Punch a tree until I can no longer punch it.
[6] You find a rather large tree, probably some sort of landmark or something. Or maybe they were too lazy to build a hut or awning.
[5] You expertly and vigorously punch the tree, exercising your fists.
+1 PunchingAppear!
Well, this doesn't look good.
((New rule- new players come in when an old slot is effectively open, not when they get through all the formalities. If by chance one of these doomed sods does pull through, we'll just have 7 players for a probably very short period of time.))

((Ouch. I think the -10 hp threshold for death is way too deadly. One bad roll and you are irreedemably screwed.)
Yeah, that is one of the things I'm testing. Of course, the main alternative I was thinking of was to base it on your max HP, which obviously doesn't help you one bit.
Also, all the instagibs have been either spectacularly bad rolls or horrifyingly superior opponents. Some of the
effective instagibs have been much more even, though.
Also, I am fascinated to see what Toaster's come up with. :3
