Is anyone getting the "disc I/O" error on Steam when trying to play this? Getting pretty annoying now.

...still better than Diablo 3's launch, though xD

We had someone in our planned group have that. You might need to delete and install again.

You have to uninstall and then re-install the torchlight 2 game files on steam.

I just exited and restarted steam. The second time I did that the error fixed itself.

1½ hours in, have to stop for the night :(

I've got a good feeling about this game.

Having just played Torchlight 1 for the first time, I was wondering, is this game just Diablo 2 (3?) + WoW graphics + Explosive Steampunk Stuff all over again?

From what I've seen, generally yes. It's like Diablo, except all the annoying parts are less annoying, and there are some parts that are just outright excellent.

So I took the ranged weapon type class and got as far as the second "Act", it's pretty fun, and I'm finding that I love using the boomstick, but I'm finding it a little boring to go through all this alone, anyone interested in doing some multiplayer?

I can do multi, but not now, gotta sleep. managed a good three hours of playtime, though.

Also I totally didn't realize I'd be shooting lightning from my hands when I named my big bald black embermage "Windu"

So I think we all know the real question here: How long until Diablo 1, 2 and 3 are remade as mods for Torchlight 2? Taking all bets!

Question: the only viable multiplayer option right now is "LAN", so does that mean we could connect if the host opened up the relevant port (assuming this is with TCP/UDP) or is it actual lan-only (making us need Hamachi)?

No, it looks like it's going to have to be a Hamachi thing.

It's not finding any of us that are connected to the same Hamachi network in the LAN list. How do we connect directly via IP?
