I have no idea how far this will go, where it will go, or if it will go at all. So let's have fun for however long it lasts!

You have the outward appearance of a 25 year old Caucasian male with red hair and purple eyes. Supplimentary notes indicate that changing your physical appearance in any significant way would require access to a MIU upkeep facility, which is not available for the duration of the mission. You do note that you can create more of the substance which composes your 'hair' with minimal resource consumption.

Basic Processes and Data

-The file lists the range of your auditory sensors as being between 8 Hz and 22 kHz. You look around. You appear to be in a large, grassy field. To your north, you can see a black-painted fence composed of three lines of horizontal boards secured to upright posts, around thirty feet away. To the southeast is a small grove of trees, slightly more than fifty feet away. The sun shines brightly overhead. You hear a whirring noise, similar to high-speed wind, from the west.

But what of this form? You look down and see four appendages attached to a central trunk. The upper two have slender, grasping digits. You are covered in a one-piece grey jumpsuit reaching from the second joint of each of the four limbs to beyond the edge of your visual range. Apparently, the ocular sensors of this form are mounted in some sort of limited-arc turret. You think that a bipedal form of this height should be unstable, but you are not.

What are the specifics of your form? What do you do?

More information is required. Continue to observe self.

 * Are we breathing?
 * What are our available senses? We appear to have vision and hearing. Do we have smell? Tactile sensors?
 * What is the range of our senses? How much of the electromagnetic spectrum can we observe? Can we see into the ultraviolet? Can we hear radio waves? Can we taste them?
 * Are we experiencing emotion?

Attempt to issue commands to this frame we are occupying. Can we move it? Can we walk? Can we speak?

Perform memory diagnostic. Rattle off a string of 30 random two digit numbers. Attempt to repeat it. Is the string remembered, or lost? Close eyes, then access visual memory of our surrounding environment. Is there a qualitative difference between the memory and the direct experience of visual input?

A paragraph of text details a mechanism which can replicate respiration to a degree sufficient to fool casual observers, though you do not need to do so. A preface notes that all values have been converted to local measurements.

You process the paragraph of the basic guide file labelled "Mobility" and quickly self-correct, bringing the other leg forward. You trot for a few steps before coming to a halt. You raise one of your upper limbs and examine it, flexing the five digits at the end. You reach down, pluck a section of flat, blade-like plant, and grasp it, bringing it up to your ocular sensors. You attempt to speak, before realizing that you are not certain how. The "Communications" section may hold more information.

You attempt to test your memory systems. You save an image and a brief video clip of the surrounding landscape, and then generate a random sequence of 30 digit numbers, which you store in your memory. You then generate a second sequence, different from the first.

You access the image and video clip; both are perfect records of the subject (or at least as perfect as you can create). However, you attempt to access full visual records from the moment you became aware, and realize that they are not entirely clear, with some details forgotten. You then return to the number sequences. You regenerate the first sequence and compare it with the stored sequence; they are identical. You then attempt to generate the second sequence, but are only certain of 14 of the numbers, and cannot remember exactly where some of them fell in the sequence. You detect no difference between the recorded image or video and current visual input; the unrecorded memories appear to have a number of missing details and are somewhat vague when you were focusing on personal inspection.

You manipulate two digits of your right upper limb, pinching one of the digits of your other upper limb between the vestigal, artifical claws. You register a sensation which you identify as pain. You note that this sensory input can be manually disabled, though doing so will also cut off all input from touch receptors, making complex manual manipulation very difficult, if not impossible.

You walk to the grove of trees. A small, furred animal is startled at your approach and scrambles up one of them. You approach another, and grasp the trunk. You pull. You reach the maximum strength of your current operational level. The earth shifts, you feel the tree begin to come loose. You step backwards, pulling. The tree falls, and you step out of the way. It is approximately four times your height, and 8.5 inches in diameter where you gripped it. You grasp a branch and squeeze. The limb cracks, splits, and is severed from the trunk. The grasping por- your hand is dusted with wood, and several splinters are embedded in the palm. They only pierce the outer organic layer; the largest penetrated slightly more than 5 millimeters before reaching the nonorganic layer. You postulate that the organic layer varies in thickness depending on the region of your body it covers; the file supports this. The larger punctures bleed for several seconds, gradually closing. You wipe the sawdust and droplets of blood from your palm. Your file indicates that your blood is a blend of high-strength healing factors; your organic layer can sustain itself without outside support.

Funnily enough, I started this with absolutely no idea what to do with it, but now I've got a setting I'm working on, and all those currently-censored subjects are already filled in, in my mind.

You follow the aircraft at your best possible speed; it is over the horizon within seconds. The noises to the west continue at their previous level, slightly reduced due to the additional distance between you and their source. The voices have been moving towards the grove at a steady rate. You estimate that they are within 20 feet of the fallen tree. You are currently 80 feet to the east of the grove.

(In all seriousness, your appearance will affect your reception and possibly future events. You must appear at least passibly human, though hair and eye color are pretty much up for grabs.)
