(4,-2) Jamnan Tatarev's fleet <no actions taken>
(12,-2) Argetor Archmagus's fleet

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

(You may want to read at least Azalyn's turn. Something important has happened!)

Leonard Fallswood

The scouts have been sent out.

About thirty minutes in, the scouts send their initial reports to your ping dynamo - which apparently has the ability to handle long-range communications - when an ear-piercing shriek echoes through the air. A huge winged reptile, overall a mottled green-black with membranous wings and a long, whipping tail, appears from nowhere and rams one of your scouts.

Wyvern 15 + 3 vs 5 + 5 Scout

You first see the thing breaking your ship like just so many matchsticks before hearing the sound. Men fall to the ground, flailing their limbs before either being snapped up by the thing, or by crashing to the ground.

The other two quickly turn and fire broadsides at the beast.

4 vs 15
16 vs 3

The first ship fails to pivot fast enough to get a good bearing, but the second successfully punches a number of holes in the wyvern's flesh. Shrieking again, it disappears.

The other two scouts contact you, asking for further orders.

Agertor Archmagus

Your portion of the fleet heads towards the east river. It seems that the water is clear enough, and the currents calm. As suspected, the forest continues.

Sinclair Atmos

The whole fleet is sent north, with the scouts being sent even further with their higher maneuverability. The scouts report some hills, the continued river and the hint of a cliff.

Jamnan Tatarev

Your ship is Storage 300, Speed +3, Short range +13, Long range   -, Protection +3.

You send a ping dynamo and a cruiser to the northern forest. It scans the forest, which turns out to be negative to any large creatures. Just as it turns to return, the still-on ping system scans a number of big animals that seem to be bears.

Land?

Argus Kaledos

You head mostly north-east.

The scouts report some hills along that vector.

Sergej Genja

The fleet heads towards the west.

The scouts and the Mephisto dip down to collect samples before catching up with the rest of the fleet.

Handing the samples over to the arcani and its mages, they report that the soil is quite charged with magic but otherwise fertile. They do not know what effects the soil will have on plants.
Meanwhile, of the plant samples you notice that although there is regular grass, normal wildflowers, and what seems to be some dandelions, you also note a strange plant with razor-thin leafs, like grass but almost see-through. Its blades are angular like an elongated hexagon.

A diplomat has arrived from Entren Armeni. You tell the diplomat that the terms are accepted.

Azalyn Kementari

You quickly float over to the bend in the river and tell the non-combat ships to land. The civilians are ordered to pitch tents and fires, while the seeders start up their mechanisms.

Meanwhile, your's, Sergej's, and Entren's ships' mages combine their power to create a destructive resonance in the fabric of Being, when something exits the rift.

... To your collective surprise, it is a long, long ship (even longer than a clipper, which is almost one hundred meters in length), with eight masts flying triangular sails and one mast at the very front with a square sail, bearing the insignia of the heavenly lord himself.

If I missed anyone (the horror) please tell me.

It took quite a long to do this turn D: Mostly because of the sorting through of actions spread through multiple posts, and adding the numbers.

If someday I disappear, it's because I've raegquitted from numbering stuff xD

Also, I already replied to IronyOwl by PM about whether or not I'm accepting :P

Sinclair Atmos' fleet continues directly north.
The scouts fan out to the left and right, making a semicircle in front of the main fleet.

Move all towards 14 to establish a base and attempt to farm. If possible send a four scouts further east to check out the rest of the forest. Also check if the river has life in it and try to find out what kind.

Hmm, I don't know what happened. I suppose I kinda wrote nothing except for the diplomat...thing...

Entren

One of your ping dynamos alerts you to the fact that a transmission has arrived from the diplomat scout that the other party has accepted your terms.

Your arcani asks if it should continue closing the rift, or if it should deal with what seems to be the Emperor's ship.

Other than that, the hour-long flight was eventless.

...so, they did have a plan to close the rift, they just never told the fleet commanders about it. Ok.

: *hails the imperial flagship* Ahh. So the emperor chose not to go down with his empire. Just so we're clear, you hold no power here, and this new world changes nothing. Just like I explained last time we spoke, I'm going to kill you the first chance I get. Now, do you have anything to say, or are you going to close the rift before those creatures come though and destroy this world too?

Azalyn

You relay the words to your dynamo; the answer comes back shortly, transmitted to all nine fleets in the vicinity.

The Heavenly Lord has fallen with his kingdom, may he ever rest beyond the doors of that which claims us all.
On this ship is his son, the court and, assorted nobility.
We expect you – all – to have the utmost respect and to be loyal to the court of the son and his court.
Refusal to do so shall be greeted with swift and certain introduction to the timeless sorrows of the destiny we all are fated to meet. Loyalty to the court shall be rewarded with blessings from the new heavenly lord. This is the mandate of heaven, backed by the earthly yet exalted son of the heavenly lord, and weak as we all are held in part by the royal court.

       — Cordially, High Noble Ariterean S. Reablean; the heavenly lord's son; and Lesser Noble Ramiran et al.

Entren Armeni

"Where did that ship come from!? Mages, continue closing the rift. I'll go take a look at the new ship in Riftsailer. ... Fleet! Touch down just southwest of the bottom clump of forest and start setting up a rudimentary base. Watch the trees."

The fleet lands one square southwest of the bottom clump of forest ((Just set fleet down one square southwest of the bottom clump of forest)), scouts first to check out the area. Keep all but one of the military ships in the skies to patrol the ground and skies. On the ground, construct a basic headquarters and see if the ground is good for farming. Soldiers from the military ship on the ground will patrol the camp, especially by the forest. If the ground is suitable for farming, begin a plot of food.

Back by the rift, leave the arcani ship by the rift to help close it, and send the flagship to flag down the new ship and get a good look. If the two ships can message each other, even better.

: So, daddy had the dignity to die with his people? I'm pleasantly surprised. Save your threats, Ariterean. Your father chose me personally to command the Daedalus on this world, and I don't think you'll question his judgement just because I show you no more respect than I did him. I care nothing for your court, and I reject your claims of mandate, just as I did your father's before you. Now kindly instruct your mages to close the rift, and then get out of our way. We have work to do ensuring the survival of our race. Azalyn out.

Azalyn regroups with her fleet at (10,3)

Sergej sends the following message to his mages: "Keep closing gate. Send message to longship: [Sire, if you have half the traits of your heavenly father, I will be happy to serve under you. Your servant, prof. Sergej Genja.]"

To his own crew: "Formalities over, now let's do something. Bring some soil and plants aboard the Gabriel (the steamer), see if the plants grow well aboard a flying ship. Plant some of our own, too, see what they do in this magic soil. Make notes. Every detail."

Meanwhile, the fleet keeps headin west, apart from the arcani, who keep at their efforts to close the rift. The scouts fan out to the northwest and southwest of the fleet's current location.
