I doubt we'll be having lengthy magitech discussions very often, though, and most other OOC chatter has seemed pretty minimal.

Is the map shared? Or do I have to scout areas which others have found to be able to see them?

And when are my farms/logging/houses finished?

Swoggle me eyes!

If anyone is in the market for a vassal or a waiting list is to be implemented, I'd like to apply.  :)

If IronyOwl Skyrunner agrees, you can take over my scout or military or civilian wing.

I'm in the market for an assistant commander also.

Ibid would like to play as a vassal/taskforce, so I'm offering him to take over part of my force so he can play too. (To make matters easier, I can quote or link his post in mine every turn.)

Also, I meant Skyrunner. Sorry Irony.

"Get back to the camp everyone, I have some new assignments."
As all ships' captains are assembled around the large table in the Mephisto's captain's cabin, Sergej draws out a large, but very basic map of the surroundings.
"First: the base camp. We are now here. The seeders are planting farms here as well. But we'll need water. I have two projects to ensure we get it. Firstly, clipper "Joseph" shall start digging a well right in the middle of our camp. I'll need two mages, trying to scry how deep the ground water is, and two others, who will do nothing but make sure the well doesn't collapse."

"Secondly, I want a canal. It will start north of here, and lead to the outskirts of the camp. This is the responsibility of the "Stephen". Two mages are to help by preventing collapses and other accidents. Dig out the canal, but leave a dam to keep the water out of it until the canal is perfect."

"Meanwhile, the "Samuel" will travel towards the nearest edge of the hills, and start digging a mine. Dig deep enough in the plains, then make a turn as to go under the hills, very carefully. I want to know how deep the acid goes. Two mages with you, to prevent and heal injuries, and, if at all possible, detect where the acid starts before you hit it."

"A scout will head out over the hills - stay at least 10 meters above the ground, unless you want to turn into mush. Take samples of every material we have with us, even if you have to vandalize ships for it. Specifically, I want you to take a glass shard (from a lantern or so) and different types of metal - bronze, cast iron, steel, gold, silver, whatever you can scrounge up. Drop it on the hills, note the results. I will send the last two mages with you - they will be taking notes, and if nothing can withstand the acid, they are to telekinetically levitate a very small amount of it back to the camp for further research. And for Newton's sake, keep it away from the ships!"

"One last thing: I want to fill out the blanks on this map. I want one scout heading towards each of the cardinal directions and draw what they see. The last two scouts are to stay here."

: There were survivors, both civilian and military. They are being cared for, and I consider them free men. They will be given the option of joining my settlement with no penalty or punishment if they decline. No one is being held prisoner, and no charges are to be filed against them.

Ok. So what I propose is not easy. How difficult is it? Keeping in mind that I'm not attached to the idea of using elementals, nor do I particularly care whether we convert topsoil or shear it off and use bedrock. I just want results. In my own view of what an elemental is, asking an earth elemental to merge stone should be fairly simple. If there are easier methods, that's fine. Again...making and pouring standard limestone-based concrete for the base of the structure is fine if that's what we have to do. Or if we can skip the construction of a base and simply directly enchant a quarter mile square of subsurface rock and rip it out of the ground...that's fine too. We perma-enchant our ships to fly, I assume we can perma-enchant ground to fly too. It's just a matter of scale. I'm prepared to spend quite a few turns doing this. What are my options?

If possible, I do want the crystals to use as a primary building material. Again, what are my options?

If it absolutely comes down to it, I'll make a kiln and conventional clay bricks. But I'd much rather have shiny pretty crystals.

Entren Armeni

"So far so good. Scouts, I want you to investigate the lake area and fill in the holes in our map. Keep an eye out for anything dagerous or unusual. Also, drop a plank into the water to see if it's acidic or not. It should also help to see what kind of sea life we have around here. Arcani and Riftasiler, we're going to land by the construction site and start divining for water and metal ore. Should we find water, we'll start digging a well."

Scouts scout to (-20,-30), (-30,-30), and (-40,-40). The fleet continues its work, and maintains the military patrols. Also, bring the arcani and Riftsailer down and begin constructing a well after divining for water, if there is any. Also, divine for metal ore.

Planeskippers is rather tiring, like I suspected : I don't know exactly why, but it just is. D:

I'm being lazy and not updating it for two days now...
