I probably forgot something but I just really needed to do this.

About the actual game: Not really the genre (MMO) in which I am interested.

If you're going to rag on this guys spelling and grammer, might wanna make sure you don't make any mistakes in your own post. Especially since you don't actually have anything to say about the game. Not everyone is a naitive english speaker, give the guy a break.

Wether you're a native speaker or not does not permit your laziness to rule over your grammar. At least not while you're making a showcase for a game. English wasn't even my second language, yet I'm at least looking to polish my grammar. (not saying he's not doing so.)

Oh and jocan, do you think that game is runnable on an iPad? If so expect me to have something to do on breaks.

... You spelled 'whether' incorrectly.  8)
I'm guessing you ignored any hints of me being on an iPad, nor that I might've tried to write "whether" while I could've had Swedish on as the autocorrect language. Autocorrect ignores most of your attempts to write as you want, unless you add non-standard letters to the word.

But anyways, haven't been able to check this out yet, but is it browser based or a client based game? If the latter I'm literally screwed for a while.

Client base, not browser. Its a bit like master of orion in a persistant world. And not turn base. Maybe more like sin of solar empire in fact, a bit more slow since its persistant, but you get the idea.

jocan, are there any videos showing the latest build floating around?

I am sure, if you link us to these videos, it will help to build more interest.

Bringing this back from the dead for some great reasons. First, this is one of the two big projects I have been working on for the last few months. Jocan brought me in on the team and I have been lending my talents and connections to an impressive team that was already there. Myself and 26 devlopers and 8 other professionals have brought this game into feature complete status after nearly 7 years of development and several million dollars. In order to release the best game possible we want to spend the next 6 months testing and tweaking the game as much as possible with a larger group of people. Additionally, we would like to add even more content to the game. We have just launched our Kickstarter and I would like to ask you guys to check it out. Even if you don't want to back the game, I think many of you would enjoy learning about the game and our KS makes this the easiest way to do so. If you like it, please share our KS with your friends. Once I get this under control I will be able to come back to the community and resume some giveaways.

Looks amazingly cool :)

Since it is MMO(thing), what are going to be the fees associated with playing? I'm at work and couldn't immediately find any information regarding that on the KS text.

As for pricing, well i would love to tell you, but if i remember right, that would be in line with other major MMO's something along the line of 15ish a month, but like state previously im out of the loop of mostly everything and that was actual like... one year ago i might be off by now.

I normally steer completely clear of anything MMOish, but the involvement of bay12ers piqued my interest enough to have a gander.

I'm on my way home from work atm so had to settle for a quick scan through the KS page while waiting for a train.  It looks impressive, and hopefully the niche it's aiming for is large enough to make it a successful game.  There are a couple of concerns holding me back form contributing at the moment though.

1. Is there any current or planned implementation of f2p or non-cosmetic micro-transactions?
2. What happens to all my stuff (planets, ships etc) while I'm not actively playing?
3. Is Eve style cooperation/scheming/raiding/scamming possible/expected here?

If I like the answers to at least two of these questions then I'm in.

I'm not a fan of the KS page: too many titles, too many fragmented informations (with too many short paragraphs), big pictures for rewards I'll never have, too many quotes, missing informations (premium account anyone?). It's an horror to read through it, even for me who usually reads academic papers...

It is B2P with no monthly fees.

Meta, I'm sorry you aren't happy with the KS page. It's very difficult to condense an enormous game like Novus Aeterno into a short brief on a single page. More information will be coming in updates each day and it would be of great service to the devs and other gamers if you could ask your questions on the KS comments section.

And RTS MMO.. usually these dont fare too well because they are designed to one extreme or another: So simple that there is absolutely no depth and need to play beyond 15 min a day, or very complex where you need to be logged in practically 24/7 to avoid being steamrolled while you are away. How does this game plan on avoiding both of those scenarios?

1. Hemmingjay had more information than me on the subject and it seem there will also be a premium account, what does it entails, sadly i dont know as of yet. But Nick ( the CEO ) hates with passion pay to win, so the benifits of such account will most likely not be relate to anything that gives the player an advantage. Thats my own point of view with the current information i have. Since kickstarter just started Nick is quite busy right now so i cannot provide more information than that. Everything i said might not reflect final decision but should be a good guideline in any cases.

2.I know you can set a planetary sanctuary, fortress shield wich basicly lock your planet and no one can do anything to it, maybe premium account will be able to choose more than one? I dont know, pure speculation on that, but i do know you can set one planet with a fortress shield should you leave for an extended time.

3.It will be a player driven economy so im quite sure that might happen and we will see with the community what patch we should go if it becomes problematic. I know for a fact that Taitale love his community and is listening to it everyday.

Whoa - I was not expecting that. B2P being just buy-to-play?

That information should definitely be over on the KS :)

Thanks for the responses guys.  I got a reply on the comments page going into a little more detail about what 'premium accounts' entail and it actually sounds pretty reasonable.  You have my sword.

Seconded.  The majority of people are likely to assume subscriptions or f2p if it isn't specifically mentioned.
