My favorite one was a bat-man cursed to take the form of a were-antelope.  He did show up on the map at some point, but I didn't really notice.  Later, his body was sitting in my refuse stockpile.  So I checked legends.

Turns out batman was the enemy of dozens of civilizations.  Not too many kills.  But kindof a badass.  He died by colliding with an object.  So I figure batman showed up on my map at the wrong time of the month and *pop* an antelope creature falls out of the sky...

Weremammoth.

If I remember correctly, it chased a sheep around the zone for some time (without catching it), then turned back into a human and left the map.

Be glad that it didn't enter your fort...

I had a werehegehog that turning into a white tigerman (FD mod) as soon as it reached my entrance. It was listed as friendly so I didn't bother killing it until it started with job interruption spam so I sent my military to kill it. The thing took one more step and was caught in my cage traps. It's now an exhibit in the dining hall, regularly changing back and forth.

I had a were-antelope appear, kill one dwarf, and then run off the map after turning back into a human

I just had a were-sloth claw apart someone's skull before the military was able to intervene. Someone very slow, apparently.

In my first fort a mighty were-giraffe appeared. I scrambled the three-man army and prepared for Fun, but the horrible giraffe seemed content to wander around ripping wild boars in half before it turned into human again and I ordered him destroyed.

Generally, when one is conducting an experiment, it is worth noting that the observers went insane, killed each other, and then rose from the dead.
It's like DF inhaled a peanut.

I had a human show up, and run away. I never got to see what he turned into, unfortunately.

Dwarves passing by get good thoughts from the mist of water and exploding felines.
Anyone of the equivalent to the royal bloodline in a nomadic group would have a sun tattooed on their hand, or a scrotum on their forehead (it's a little-known fact that fraternities are based off of long-forgotten tribes).

Were stoats? What exactly do stoats do anyway?

Stoats are just weasels with short tails.

Has anyone ever seen (or heard) of a Were unicorn? That would be awesome, though due to my limited werebeast encounters I've yet to know if that is possible.

My first were-creature ever: The were-lizard lord consort has arrived!

Me: The werelizard... lord... "I say, my good dwarf, would you like to join me for some tea?"
