I had my first great success with a +iron two-handed sword+.

I've recently become a fan of wrestling things until I break a limb, letting them pass out, then walking among the unconscious foes stabbing them in the brain with my large knife.  You have to break both an archer's limbs before they stop using their bows/crossbows though. 

Im impressed.

I (somehow) wield a marble coffin that i fill with the corpses of all I have slain (to make an already heavy object even heavier) in one hand, and the other holds a book made out out of fucking platinum. The book can crush skulls, and the coffin grows ever stronger and now that is has a few dead dragons in it, it sends people flying a mile backwards to explode in a pile of gore. Gore which I then place into the coffin, increasing its weight and power.

Well, I modded a cane into my game, so I try my best to be a gentlemanly dwarf mass murderer.

Depends on my mood. I like halberds for their versatility, but sometimes I just get a big blunt thing and start whacking everyone. Fun times.

I usually like using a battleaxe or short sword in close quarters.
At range, I'll start off with throwing metal bolts, and then I start throwing the heads of my previous kills once I get farther along.
And if that's not enough, I'll revive those thrown heads so they can gnaw on my target's ankles.

The first dorf adventurer I made had a bagful of socks too.  Since dorfs like their socks, I was trying to properly role-play.

A masterwork dragon bone longsword adorned with hanging rings of dragon bone and menacing with spikes of dragon bone and dragon tooth, made using Wanderer's Friend and a whole lotta training. And also save-scumming, because dragon bones are rare, dammit. Once I get some sufficiently valuable gems I intend to encrust it with them. Also, question: If an adventurer kills enough things with a weapon, does that weapon get named? I know this happens in fortress mode, but does it work for adventurers too? And if so, when does it usually happen? Because there's this ultra-convenient lair right outside my starting civ's capital that I've been putting trophies and stuff in, and I was thinking I could try to do an "Adventurer's Legacy" thing, where my adventurers take up the legendary sword of the Dragonslayer (or something) to smite the evils that plague the land.
