Totally. We need a squire and some pages, too. Look for some likely candidates.
Yeah, find the candidates and give us like a list of the 5 or so most able candidites, what their skills are, how old etc.

This hasn't gotten one for 4 days, so I think it deserves it. Besides this was a good game with a cool premise, and for almost two days now I've been the only thing stopping it from potentially dying. Besides it isn't it's time to die yet, it hasn't become old and ridulously tedious and complicated yet. Its still a young and nimble forum game, it is.

It has many long weeks before it becomes old and decrepit.

I think the problem is that we never really gave the GM instructions on what we wanted to do next. We argued a bit about whether to make a request of the baron, talked about squires and so forth, but I don't see many posts talking about what to do going into the next turn.

Wow, that's actually true. I will rectify the situation.
Actions
-Sell all the food, wherever it fetches the highest price and will not have spoiled before either our ships or traders arrive with the goods.(So the place with the highest price for food in our effective food trading range.)
-
-snip-
I also vote we contact nearby villages and tell them they can mill their harvest here in exhange for maybe 1/20 of their harvest.
-snip-

-Finish the Inn
-Also if we have any money left after finishing the inn use that to help the brewer expand operations and take in apprentices.
-If we have any money left after all that build a kiln and hire a qualified potter to work in it.

It is now summer!

The first thing you do, is to send the food downstreams in ships to sell your food in the cities. It takes a while, since you do not have any big ships of your own. But it turns out that most of the peasants near the city had a bad harvest. And you are able to sell your food at a slight overprice. (175 gold coins) This occupies your servants for most of the summer.A few of the villiages around you have accepted your proposal regarding your mill. And you will get a small increase in food produktion next harvest.

You decide that it is time for you to take a squire and some pages. Pages will flock to you from small but rich families, so that wonīt be a problem at all. You just have to state how many you wont. (More pages means more servants and reputation, but higher cost.)

Regarding the squire, you have a few choices, you could either:

Take one from your own population. This whould highly increase their lojalty to you, but nobles might complain.
Take a relative to the Baron under your wing. This will strengthen the relations between you and and the baron.
Take a relative to one of the nobles in the area. (If you pick this decision I will tell you about the families in a miniupdate)
Other- If you have another idea, do tell.

The inn is finished, and will give you more coins as your reputation grows higher. However, your servants are busy trading this summer, and do not have the time build more buildings. But they are becoming more skilled builders. If you want to, you could specialise them, making them faster builders but not able to do any other occupations.

Your soldiers caught one of the peasants stealing from the granary! What punishment does he deserves?

In the end a few refugees arrives from the villages upstream. They claim that a relative small warband is pillaging upstream. They are around 20 bandits. How will you react?

Get 3 pages.

Get 1 squire from the baron, we need better relations.

Beat the thief.  Make it painful, but not crippling.

The bandits...could be a problem.  Send one of your spearmen to scout out the hideout of the bandits, give us an estimate of the locale, and the numbers of the enemy, their equipment, etc.

Twenty Bandits? lets see if we can have some people setting up minor defenese in the village like  Pit traps, Rolling Logs and log walls and send word to the baron to send a few troops that is his job.

The Baron is obligated...but wouldn't it be better to do this ourselves?

Imagine the the recognition, even if just among the peasants, for taking out a approx.  20-man strong group of bandits, without any aid.  .

I agree that we should take a squire from the baron. Three pages sounds good as well.

I'd like to take out the bandits ourselves, but 6 vs. 20 are pretty horrible odds, no matter how good we are. Perhaps ask the baron for a small squad that we can lead ourselves. Or we could march to the lord that rules that village and offer our assistance. In fact, I like that idea the most.

And continue to specialize the builders.

Beat the thief, agreed, but make certain that no bones are broken. Man has to be able to make a living.

1)3 pages
2) Take a relative to one of the nobles in the area.  (Guys we have a bad relations with baron, why put huge resources to repair it, if it can be used as an excuse for rebellion? Let's gather allies and not lick baron's ass)
3) Show a mercy and forgive the peasant, but announce that if he'll get caught again, he will become onearmed peasant
4) Go to meet the bandits together with spearmen and 20 most fit and brave peasants armed with pitchforks\axes\butcher knifes. It should be enough.
