Ah yes, the 'friendly' forest. Inviting, peaceful. Olimar knew better. Forests harbored life, and life meant hostility. He saw those trees, how they lowered their boughs upon the arrival of the racers, filled to the stem with heavy apples. There was ill intent to be had.

If I understand the system correctly, then whether you get a sponsor roll or not is random. I don't think you can ask for one.

Leading into the tree filled area, the bounty hunter saw the item boxes ahead and aimed for the weapons in a box, deciding that those would be safer than trying to speed up unprotected. Of course with Oomph ahead of him, the captain couldn't help himself as he hit the pedal and aimed for the koopa's rear bumper.

What's the -6 for?

I recently (as in right before this race) redid the Pulling Ahead rules to make them less of a 50/50 shot with zero ability to manipulate- in short, Pulling Ahead suffers a standard -6 penalty, but is a Pass Check modified by Momentum. Thus, while it is possible to Pull Ahead at Momentum of 4, it isn't terribly likely until you're hitting 5 and 6, thus encouraging people to Powerslide/Aggressive to enhance their ability to Pull Ahead instead of just hanging out and not taking risks.

((I lost 1 momentum from passing, right? Unless I missed something.....))

...whups! Yeah, you should have 2 Momentum by my count- started with 1, gained 2 from action, lost 1 from passing.

I meant "roll" as in "generate," rolling starting wealth and getting the sheet all tidy. Sponsorship deals are offered based on my best estimation of a given sponsors goals- high priority goes to drivers with Fame, since that generates revenue for the Sponsor.


Anywho, since I just got done working many-days-in-a-row, I'm pretty damn tired right now. Since I had a couple rules clarifications to give anyway, I'll go ahead and push this turn back a day. It gives Scelly and Orb the opportunity to reevaluate their actions, and it gives me the opportunity to get a good night's sleep for a change
