Crank grinned.  Now was his chance to get back where he belonged!

"Better run, Mr. Falcon!"

Draft behind Falcon!  (If I have to choose and can't just pick the path he does, go RIGHT.)

"Though I'm past one-hundred thousand miles I'm feeling very still, and I think my spaceship knows which way to go." the radio continued as DB closed on Luigi. "Time for you all to learn to respect your dead, for you just might join them." DB muttered under his breath as he carefully followed Luigi's every move as he moved in to RAM. Go to whichever path Luigi chooses, if not able just left..

Wow...  looking back, those puns are a lot less funny than they seemed a one in the morning.
And yet, imagining the spectacle of a mustachioed man in a go-kart making a long string of horrible nautical puns provides a reasonable level of amusement.

The Black Mage watched with interest as the group of Nintendo (all rights reserved :P) characters and ZoidbergMr.L failed constantly, as if their performance on the race depended upon dice rolls instead of the skill of the driver.
"Hm...Bad idea." he says, making the previous milkshake disappear and taking another one from inside his robes.

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

(isn't purple a +1 check to not fall back?)

While the F-zero racer was thankful for not falling off the track from the explosion, he was now in a vulnerable position and Crank was speeding up to him. Not about to lose his lead, Captain Falcon hit the gas and readied to fight.

"Just try, you over-grown lump!"

Aggressive driving!

If you spin out/flip/etc, you have to make a +1 check to avoid falling back (IE- going over the side with no rails.)

This is correct- Falcon Fell Back due to low Momentum, not because of the Blue Shell (ignoring the fact that the former resulted from the latter, anyway.) If Captain Falcon had been on, say, the YELLOW curve, he'd have made a Hazard Check (+1) to avoid Falling Back immediately, and then another Racing Check (+0) to avoid Falling Back due to the low Momentum.

The Mysterious Mr. L gripped his steering wheel tightly.  He had been in bad situations before, far worse than this.  This was nothing. Bad luck and past mistakes have gotten in my way, but I won't worry about those anymore, for the Mysterious Mr. L STRIKES LIKE LIGHTNING!!!

Throw the Bob-omb at whoever's in front of me and Drive Aggressively down the Left Path!

The Lady in red was in her usual spot, cheering Princess Zelda. She was currently on the arm of a muscled barbarian looking gentlemen who seemed perpetually nervous around the large crowd.

"You can do it, Princess! Kick their asses!"

She nudges her companion in the ribs and whispers, "Honestly Rolf, lighten up...and where's Polaris?"

...

In other news, there were lots of unexplained fires that day during the race...

Bill watched the catastrophes unfold on the track. He facepalmed, his meaty claw nearly covering his entire face.
"Best racers my ass. I could have beaten them. They better get incredibly better, incredibly fast."
He looked around, searching for something a TRUE AMERICAN HERO could combat.

Rainbow Road- Turn Eight

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th

Action Phase

While the F-zero racer was thankful for not falling off the track from the explosion, he was now in a vulnerable position and Crank was speeding up to him. Not about to lose his lead, Captain Falcon hit the gas and readied to fight.

"Just try, you over-grown lump!"

Aggressive driving!

Captain Falcon heads back to the left, attempting to put as much distance between himself and his pursuers as possible! [2] He fails to make up any ground, however, gaining no Momentum and taking a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

Crank grinned.  Now was his chance to get back where he belonged!

"Better run, Mr. Falcon!"

Draft behind Falcon!

Crank follows Captain Falcon down the left path, following closely and looking for an opportunity to pass! [5]+5-1vs[5]+3 Although Captain Falcon cuts off Crank again and again, he is unable to keep it up as Crank uses his Momentum to scoot by, taking FIRST PLACE and losing no Momentum!

Aggressive Driving, Left Path!

Princess Zelda follows the gang down the left path, driving as fast as possible! [4]-1 Unfortunately, the Blooper Ink obscures her vision, preventing her from finding an optimal line through the helix! She gains no Momentum and takes a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

The Mysterious Mr. L heads down the left path, hurling his Bob-omb forward! It lofts over Zelda before bouncing into Captain Falcon, [5]-1vs[3]-1 sending him flying into the air once more! Falcon loses all Momentum as the inferno bursts in front of Zelda, [3]-1-1 and her reckless swerve only sends her dangerously close to the edge as she Spins Out, losing TWO Momentum! [5]+1-1-1 She barely avoids falling to her doom!

[5]-1 The Mysterious Mr. L barely skirts the blast radius, [4]-1 and the wild swerve serves to eliminate his hopes of gaining Momentum!

My rolls, they're so horrible.

Drive aggressively on the right path.

Seeing the carnage on the left path, Luigi elects to take the other side of the helix, [3]-1 and fails to take an optimal racing line! He takes a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks and gains no Momentum!

Dry Bones follows Luigi down the right path, preparing to ram him into the abyss!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Crank is leading the way through the PURPLE double helix! He presses forward, attempting to Pull Ahead, [4]-1-1 but he cannot complete the maneuver!

Captain Falcon recovers from his wipeout, desperately striving to keep up with Crank!

Princess Zelda closes in on Captain Falcon, [6]+3-1vs[1]+0 easily maneuvering around the stalled racer and taking Second Place! She loses ONE Momentum as she looks forward to lap two!

The Mysterious Mr. L lacks the Momentum to overtake Captain Falcon!

Luigi parallels Captain Falcon and MML on the other track, keeping just a breath behind them!

Dry Bones roars up behind Luigi, aiming to Ram him out of the way! [5]+2+2-1vs[5]+0-1 He barrels into the plumber, who loses TWO Momentum as he bounces sideways, [5]-1 barely keeping control of his Kart! The skid brings him perilously close to the edge of the path, [5]+1-1-1 but Luigi manages to save himself! Dry Bones completes the pass, taking Fifth Place and losing ONE Momentum!

Looking ahead, Dry Bones sees that The Mysterious Mr. L is slowly driving toward RED- if DB drives fast, he can pass before the paths merge again! [5]+1-1vs[5]+0-1 He barely squeezes in front of the masked figure, taking Fourth Place as his Momentum disappears!

Cleanup Phase

Luigi's Momentum resets to 0!

The ink washes away as the racers cross into RED! The Final Lap of the Star Cup is underway!
