Rainbow Road- Turn Six

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th

Action Phase

(Oh, zog off, I just got this lead >:( )

Captain Falcon let of a rare genuine smile as he watched Tweedledee and Tweedledum fall off the track in their misguided attempt to jump over the track, leaving the F-Zero racer all by himself with a comfortable lead. Of course, now every single one of the other racers was gunning for him, and he needed to get as much distance between them and himself before then.

Aggressive Driving!

Captain Falcon hits the broad, gentle uphill curve in BLUE, striving to get as much distance between himself and the other racers as possible! [1]+1 He fails to take an optimal route through the segment, however, gaining no Momentum and taking a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

Wish I had dropped that bomb.  That's what I get for hurrying, EH.

Aggressive Driving!

Crank sets course for the safer route in GREEN this time, [3] but his aggressive line fails to bear fruit! He gains no Momentum and takes a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

My apologies for the lateness.

NO, THIS. ISN'T. POOOOSSSSIBBBBLE!!! Mr. L screamed as he plummeted down into the starry depths.  Slowly the Lakitu haules him back up onto the course.  FASTER YOU FOOL FASTER!
Drive  AGGRESIVELY!

The Mysterious Mr. L follows Crank down the safe path, [3] duplicating Crank's suboptimal maneuvering! He gains no Momentum from the inefficient racing, though his Great Handling keeps him from being out of position!

You know, I always hated this thing. Ironic that I'll be the one using it now...

Fire that blue shell, and power slide along the normal path.

Luigi launches the BLUE SHELL, which begins flying up the course! It will strike Captain Falcon at the end of the next Action Phase!

With Nitrous in his tanks, Luigi decides to risk Powersliding through the abrupt corners in GREEN! [1]-1 He smashes directly into the protective guardrails, crumpling his engine 2 and ruining his Stardust Conversion Chamber! Luigi can feel the sudden lack of power in the Poltergust 4000 as he drives back onto the track, knowing his Slow hiccup could be devastating!

MUSHROOM AND JUMP!

Luigi! FIRE THE NUKE!

Seeing Luigi wreck himself, Zelda activates her Mushroom for a 2 Momentum boost and hits the Jump! [4]+6vs[6]+2 She flies past Luigi, [3]+6vs[4]+3 and the Mysterious Mr. L, [1]+6vs[6]+3 but must watch as Crank completes the Green Gauntlet before she can land, [3]+1 barely staying on the course! She moves into Third Place with no loss of Momentum!

DB almost smashed his head against his steering wheel as that screw up on the rim cost him to fall to last. Had he been to cocky? Had his arrogance caused lady luck to abadone him? No time to dwell on that as he noticed the armor of his kin circle his kart. Letting out a chuckle, DB looked up and focused his gaze on the 5 ahead of him. "Welcome to the slaughterhouse." DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY Fire 2 shells at zelda and 1 at luigi.

Dry Bones angrily watches Princess Zelda safely vault through the air, and decides to take his revenge by unleashing hell on the track! He fires all three Green Shells into the cramped, walled-in GREEN Segment! The first shell is ultimately bound for Zelda, but first heads towards Luigi, [1]-1vs[4] ricocheting off the wall and straight back at Dry Bones! [6]-1vs[4] It strikes him full in the face, flipping the Koopa and causing him to lose TWO Momentum! The second shell (also bound for Zelda) approaches Luigi, [4]-1vs[3] who barely manages to evade the strike! It bounces up the course toward the Mysterious Mr. L, [6]-1vs[2] catching him unawares and flipping him sideways, forcing him to lose TWO Momentum! The final shell is sent straight at the ailing Luigi, [6]-1+1vs[3] who can't move fast enough to dodge! He flips, losing TWO Momentum!

[2] Dry bones is too busy flipping to drive aggressively, unfortunately!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Captain Falcon is way out in front, but he lacks the Momentum to Pull Ahead!

Crank [5] takes a good line through GREEN, losing no Momentum in the treacherously angled curves!

Zelda [5] duplicates Crank's line, and pushes forward to move into second place! [2]+6vs[2]+3 She succeeds by virtue of her great speed, losing ONE Momentum as she looks ahead at the gulf between herself and Captain Falcon!

The Mysterious Mr. L [5] follows the example set by those who went before, losing no Momentum! He's going to need to do some inspired driving to catch up, however!

Luigi [3] has trouble, however- his Kart isn't as responsive as it used to be, it seems! He loses ONE Momentum as he pinballs down the segment, hoping Dry Bones won't recover in time to take advantage!

Dry Bones [4] avoids Falling Back from his Shell mishap, [1] but clearly isn't in any condition to drive just yet! He loses TWO Momentum as he dizzily swerves through GREEN!

Cleanup Phase

Captain Falcon lines up on an Item Box on his way through BLUE, [3]+1 and manages to snag [5] a Blooper! Oh dear...

Dry Bones resets his Momentum to 0 as he recovers from his self-inflicted Shell-related head trauma, and begins accelerating up the track!

Wait a second, since when was there a -1 penalty to power sliding on the green section? If I'd known about that, I wouldn't have chosen that as my action!

Should be in the course info Nick.

Powerslide, aim for an item box. Watch and snigger at Falcon when the blue shell hits him.

That's precisely it, unless I'm completely missing something, I'm not seeing this -1 modifier to power slides.

It has that penalty as base, it's in the OP.

This. Unless otherwise stated, a given segment has a -1 penalty to Powerslides since they require space to perform. So, Red has +0, Yellow and Blue have +1, and the rest are default -1. Sorry about the confusion.

Oh yeah, should I be in second place, judging from the result in the movement phase?

(Wow, just wow. Curse you self inflicted bodily harm!) DB felt his skull crack slightly as he recoiled from the unexpected return of his shell. For a moment he could of sworn he tasted purple, only to remind himself he no longer had taste buds, or a brain for that matter, and there for can't get brain damaged. Still smarted like heck, even to someone who had a hard time feeling pain. Flicking the radio on, DB hoped the music would help him find his groove to get back on track. He swore that if he placed in the top 3 of this race that he would open a karaoke bar or something. DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY "For here am I, sitting in my tin can far above the world~ The earth is blue and there's nothing I can do." DB shivered as the music began to play, thankful the song was almost over and hoping it didn't mean anything grim for him.

(the turn in which everyone but Zelda rolls terribly)

Hearing the sound of the Blue Shell bearing down on him, Captain Falcon threw the Blooper behind him and hoped for the best

Use Blooper, Defensive Driving, left path

Crank swore.  Though he had recovered well from the missed jump, he still got passed by Zelda after she nailed it, and Falcon was well into the front...

Now was not the time to play it safe.

The mysterious Mr. L's moustache quivered in rage as racer after racer passed him by. They were mocking him, he just knew it, and they didn't have the guts to mock him in his face. I'll show them!  I have to show them...  how else can I prove that I'm worth anything?

Drive EVEN MORE AGGRESSIVELY!

Rainbow Road- Turn Seven

Action Phase

Hearing the sound of the Blue Shell bearing down on him, Captain Falcon threw the Blooper behind him and hoped for the best

Use Blooper, Defensive Driving, left path

As the Hell Shell bears down on Captain Falcon, he throws his BLOOPER into the air, spattering his opponents with Ink! He drives defensively down the left path, hoping against hope that he can dodge the inevitable!

Powerslide, aim for an item box. Watch and snigger at Falcon when the blue shell hits him.

Back in BLUE, Princess Zelda goes into a powerslide! [3]+1-1 As her engines are about to ignite, the Blooper bounces into her windshield, spraying ink everywhere! Zelda is so startled she loses her concentration for a crucial segment, missing her opportunity zip forward!

Crank swore.  Though he had recovered well from the missed jump, he still got passed by Zelda after she nailed it, and Falcon was well into the front...

Now was not the time to play it safe.

Aggressive driving!

Crank drives aggressively, [6]+1-1 expertly cleaving to the inside curve as he pushes his engine to its limit, gaining THREE Momentum and taking a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The Mysterious Mr. L attempts to duplicate- nay, surpass!- the success of Crank, [1]+1-1 but suddenly the specter of wordplay's past appears!

Great Scott... those puns were awful!

Stricken by shame, MML fails to concentrate on the course, losing ONE Momentum as he eases up on the accelerator!

Drive aggressively.

Luigi is infuriated by the failure of his Kart, flogging it for speed! [1]+1-1 As he accelerates toward the edge of the path, however, the Blooper rears it's ugly head, completely obscuring the plumber's view! Luigi loses ONE Momentum and takes a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks as he furiously works his windshields to get the squid off his Kart!

DB shivered as the music began to play, thankful the song was almost over and hoping it didn't mean anything grim for him.

Dry Bones begins to Drive Aggressively, hoping to charge from the back of the pack, [5]+1-1 gaining TWO Momentum as he cleaves to the inside of the curve!

Quote from: Blue Shell
:D

The Blue Shell arrives at the front of the pack, circling above Captain Falcon before striking downward! [2]+6vs[5]+1 Captain Falcon attempts to evade, but can't outrun the lightning-fast Blue Shell! He flies into the air, losing all Momentum and items!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Captain Falcon spins through the air, landing hard on the PURPLE track! He struggles to avoid Falling Back, [3] but he's too disoriented from the explosion! Captain Falcon fails to advance, and must repeat the Purple segment next turn!

Zelda has an opportunity to Pull Ahead as she exits the Blue curve, [2]-1 but she fails to complete the maneuver! She races toward the Item Boxes!

Crank is coming up fast behind Princess Zelda, [3]+5-1vs[3]+5-1 and barely squeaks past her on the inside! He loses ONE Momentum as he lays claim to Second Place! He leads the way to the Item Boxes!

The Mysterious Mr. L is in no position to pass Zelda!

Luigi is, if anything, in a worse position to pass MML!

Dry Bones is in plenty good position to pass Luigi, [1]+2-1vs[6]-1-1 but the green plumber places the Poltergust 4000 directly in DB's path! Dry Bones is forced to break off the pass attempt lest he wreck himself!

Cleanup Phase

Captain Falcon quickly accelerates as the pack catches up to him, gaining THREE Momentum!

Crank has first shot at the Item Boxes, [4]+1-1-1 but he can't see well enough to hit one!

Zelda has the next chance, [3]+1-1 and is similarly blinded by Blooper Ink!

[6]+1-1-1 The Mysterious Mr. L has no problem hitting an Item Box, [3]+3 and begins dragging a Bob-omb behind his Kart!

Luigi takes aim at an Item Box, [3]+1-1-1-1 but the Mysterious Mr. L snags it first! His Momentum rises to 0!

Dry Bones hopes for an item, [2]+1-1-1-1 but those hopes are crushed by the cloying Ink!
