Vaati does wheelies and donuts on the track as he waits for the turn to resolve.  Again.

Cerulean Speedway- Turn Eight

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Action Phase

Continue driving aggressively, Keep the fake item box until I hit the red part of the course, the deploy it amid the the real item boxes there.

Princess Zelda pulls onto the seaside cliff path, twisting and turning back down to the city! She drives fast and takes chances, [5] gaining TWO Momentum and taking a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

Drive Aggresively, but don't attempt to pass for first place.

Vaati curses angrily as Zelda passes him.

"Curses and damnations!  That princess... this is worse than when that accursed green hero split into four!"

The Great Wind Mage pursues Zelda down the coastal trail, [5]-1 and he barrels down the hill, only somewhat inconvenienced by the Ink! He gains ONE Momentum and takes a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

"No!"

That dark shape. It was in front of him. Shy Guy hated black but decided to bide his time for the last lap.

Drive Aggressively

Shy Guy is just behind Vaati, [5]-1 and perfectly duplicates the Hyrulian's maneuvers! He gains ONE Momentum and takes a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks as he holds his Red Shell, waiting for the perfect moment to strike!

Oook - Ink! This stuff tended to get in your fur and everything. MonkeyKong wasn't quite up to taking a dip in the water to clean off though.

Fire the shell, use the mushroom, powerslide around the outside route.

Back on the split before Bill's House, MonkeyKong furiously launches his Red Shell forward, hoping to slow down the leaders! It whizzes forward, spending this entire turn traveling along the road- Shy Guy hears the ominous humming coming up from behind!

Deciding he's had enough of the Ink on his windshield, MonkeyKong activates his Mushroom, zipping forward with TWO Momentum as the goop slides off! He tries to catch up to the leaders with this speed boost, [6]-1 AND SUCCEEDS, somehow passing the Red Shell he shot and losing FOUR Momentum as he rips around the curve and onto the seaside path!

Quote from: adwarf
...connecting....

Boss Form Amadeus Drives Defensively through the safe outer path before Bill's house!

Surprised he was able to break out of Monkey's line of fire, Db lets out a quick sigh before getting hit in the face with a blast of ink and missing an item box. "Graah!!! THAT GOT IN MY MOUTH!!!!!!" Db yelled as he started to dry heave and spit trying to clear his mouth. Tossing off the ink stained goggles, Db attempts to  POWERSLIDE OUTSIDE hoping he will get that big ticket item he needs.

Dry Bones attempts to Powerslide around the item-rich curve of the path, [3]+1-1 but the cloying Ink blinds him, forcing him to abandon the maneuver to stay on the path!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Zelda cuts her path close through the twists and turns of BLUE, [4] expertly navigating the segment and gaining a +1 bonus to Pass Checks! She has enough Momentum to Pull Ahead, [4] SUCCESSFULLY blowing past the grandstands, entering the FINAL LAP and quickly crossing Nugget Bridge! As she approaches those Item Boxes, she drops her Fake Item Box to foil pursuit!

Vaati [3]-1 takes a rather pedestrian path downhill- he lacks the speed to keep up with the persistent Princess!

Shy Guy [2][abbr-Inked!]-1[/abbr] misjudges a corner due to the Ink, bouncing into the wall and losing ONE Momentum! He putters valiantly after the Wind Mage!

MonkeyKong [2] doesn't take a very good line on the BLUE slopes, but is surprised to find that Shy Guy is apparently face-first in a wall, giving him the opportunity to Pass even after his breakaway! [6]+1vs[3]-1 He pulls past the struggling Shy Guy, taking Third Place as he loses ONE Momentum!

Boss Form Amadeus is driving defensively, and doesn't have enough Momentum to catch up to the pack anyway!

Dry Bones is getting his feet under him, but doesn't quite have the Momentum to pass Amadeus!

Cleanup Phase

Zelda approaches the Item Boxes at the end of Nugget Bridge in RED, [6]+1-1 easily hitting one despite her great speed! [4] She begins dragging a Green Shell behind her Kart!

Vaati is relieved as the Ink finally fades from his windshield!

Although MonkeyKong was moving too fast to Powerslide back in GREEN, he did take a shot at the Item Boxes there, [2]+2 and barely managed to clip one on his way through! [4]+3+1 He drags a Red Shell through BLUE as he works his way up the ranks!

Shy Guy is uncomfortably aware that there is still a Red Shell homing in on him, although the Shell he is dragging gives him a good chance to block it! The Ink washes away!

Amadeus doesn't go for an Item Box because he already has a Blue Shell!

Dry Bones is perfectly happy to try for a Box, [6]+2-1-1 and makes absolute certain that he gets his! [4]+5+2 He enters BLUE with STAR POWER at his disposal! The Ink washes away!

Well, dayum. I rolled like 3 two's in that whole turn, and that was the low. Zelda's way out in front but might get in trouble from the Blue Shell in waiting and whatever other items come up, the Red crowd is a tight little cluster and the laggards still on lap 2 have the best items- the Final Lap is underway, ladies and gentlemen! Daily updates resume, for realz this time!

Trouble? They need to get atleast five momentum to pull ahead, and NEITHER of the two closest racers have that kind of thing at the moment.

Suffice to say, I've got this in the bag :D

Fire the green shell backwards, Aggressive driving to pick up some more momentum!

Drive aggressively through the dash panels, avoid the fake item box and the green shell coming my way, and drop that fake item box with the others!
Wait scratch that, red shell coming up behind me.
Keep dragging that fake item box, let the Monkey try and hit me!
Scratch that scratch that, fake item boxes don't block attacks apparently.
Drop that box with the real ones after all!

Db laughed as he snagged the item box and noticed the giant monkey in front of him still. "At this point, I don't care if I get in the top 3, I will ram that big headed space chimp and make him regret the day he left space! Ha ha ha ha ha!" As he finished laughing to himself, Db decides to mess around with the radio looking for a power up song to accompany his rampage.DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY AND USE STAR!

The black mage calmly drinks an [copyrighted]tm milk-shake while watching the race. So far, it seems the smaller creatures are not faring well.
"At least they will stop throwing those for some time." He watches as a random furious non-pokémon finally snaps and starts to throw the balls back to their owners. Painfully.

Ook? Another red shell? Hardly hunger quashing. Like the last one, MonkeyKong threw it away. He was having a lot of fun, and possibly getting a little overexcited, hooting and squealing away at the other racers. Maybe another chance ofr some nonsence would be happening soon.

Fire shell forwards, drive aggressively.

Vaati curses under his breath as the red shell bears down on him.  That primitive primate!  It must be taught a lesson in social standing later.  And driving a kart took too much concentration for a spell to be practical... perhaps a cantrip would shift the breeze, knock that red shell away, let it continue on, right into the tail pipe of the Princess... Vaati grins lazily as he daydreams, narrowly avoiding plummeting off the side of the track.

Cerulean Speedway- Turn Nine

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Action Phase

Fire the green shell backwards, Aggressive driving to pick up some more momentum!

Princess Zelda is way out in front, entering the Route 25 Forest! She fires the Green Shell backwards to further slow pursuit- they'll have to dodge next turn! She takes an aggressive line through the forest, [6] positively flying between the trees as she picks up THREE Momentum and takes a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

Drive aggressively through the dash panels, avoid the fake item box and the green shell coming my way, and drop that fake item box with the others!

Vaati skids onto Nugget Bridge, [4]+1 zipping back and forth across the bridge as he goes for the maximum number of Dash Panels, gaining TWO Momentum, suffering a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks, and preparing to drop his Fake Item Box!

MonkeyKong whips his Red Shell forward at the reckless Vaati, [2]+3vs[2]-1 easily hitting the Wind Mage of Hyrule! Vaati flips, losing TWO Momentum as MonkeyKong follows up on his advantage, [3]+1 smoothly skipping from Dash Panel to Dash Panel and gaining ONE Momentum!

Drive Aggressively.

And avoid any incoming projectiles.

Shy Guy swerves as the Red Shell MonkeyKong launched last turn closes in [3]+3vs[4] but to no avail! He tumbles, losing TWO Momentum- he regains his footing, however, [5]+1 and expertly picks his way across Nugget Bridge to the tune of THREE Momentum while suffering a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

Drive Aggressively, Must gain 3rd place

Boss Form Amadeus looks to make up lost ground, [5] gaining TWO Momentum as he zips down the coastal road in BLUE! For some reason, he doesn't shoot his Blue Shell!

Dry Bones flips through several different stations, before settling on one that's appropriate. Fortified by his choice of tunes, he shifts into high gear, [6] gaining THREE Momentum and taking a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks! As he surges toward Boss Form Amadeus, he activates his STAR, becoming INVINCIBLE and gaining ONE Momentum!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Zelda barrels into the thicket of trees, [1]+1-1 and crashes right into one of the mighty oaks, losing TWO Momentum before she pulls back onto the track!

Vaati [1]-1 is completely fooled by the Fake Item Box! He crashes into it at full tilt, losing TWO Momentum as he flips and dropping his own Fake! [6] As he tumbles to a rest against the guardrail of Nugget Bridge, his Kart gives a sickening crunch- his suddenly Sticky Wheel responds sluggishly as he swerves back onto the speedway!

MonkeyKong [6]-1-1 readily avoids Vaati's loose Item Box, [3]+1vs[3]-1 and overtakes the Wind Mage's second-place position, losing ONE Momentum as he makes his grab for glory!

Shy Guy [6]-1 easily avoids the Fake Item Box, and has a golden opportunity to pass Vaati, [2]+1vs[2]-1 and takes full advantage, losing ONE Momentum as he moves into Third place!

Boss Form Amadeus [5] takes an excellent line through the curves in BLUE, gaining a +1 Bonus on Pass Checks! Unfortunately, he lacks the Momentum to Pull Ahead!

Dry Bones [3] takes a less efficient line, but certainly has the speed to threaten Amadeus! [4]+3+1vs[3]+6 He blasts into Amadeus from behind, and the STAR energies send Amadeus flipping! Boss Form Amadeus loses TWO Momentum as he struggles to guide his Kart away from the cliff edge, [3]+2 easily avoiding catastrophe! He's got a long way to go, though, as Dry Bones takes Fifth Place and loses ONE Momentum!

Cleanup Phase

Zelda searches for an Item Box, [2]-1 but can't see any in the forest!

MonkeyKong [3]+1 barely takes one of the Item Boxes, [4]+1+1 and begins dragging a Bob-omb behind his Kart!

Shy Guy [1]+1-1 has no shot at an Item Box!

Vaati [4]+1-1 manages to snag one of the remaining Item Boxes, [3]+3+1 and picks up a Mushroom! He gets some traction with his wheels, resetting his Momentum to 0!

Dry Bones and Boss Form Amadeus cross the finish line, entering the FINAL LAP.

((Monkey has a bob-omb. Perfect... [You forgot to add that in]))

Shy Guy was tense. Tense with his decision. The Red Shell could be fired now at the monkey, but that would let Zelda take the first place. Though, if he knew the crazy monkey as well as he could tell, it would use the bob-omb at the best opportunity it had.

But...the time it took for this shell to make it was a hard choice. They were also entering a forest.

Great.
