Shy Guy nearly screamed when the shell hit his kart, causing him to spin and spin and spin before striking a tree.

In whereby a turnip lands on his lap.

Shy Guy thanked whatever was watching out for him that he did not get conked on the head and fall down into a seemingly infinite pit.

"Bloop."

Use that Blooper!

Then Drive Aggressively down the LONG WAY!

...B) I once again wound up playing Endless Space until 1am before guilt and duty drove me to come update this thread- i r sleepz

Dry bones began to shake heavily after being rammed so hard by that technicolored meatbag that he was surprised he didn't collapse in his seat. Sneaking a peak at his rear view as always, his heart shank more as he saw the bright red shine of a shell, or at least it would if he still had a heart. Db attempts to pull over real fast to let monkey kong pass, hoping he wouldn't be thrust into a humiliation conga and steady his nonexistant nerves. Once he was ready, he would DRIVE DEFENSIVELY in hopes he could grab an item box that would be good enough to help him make up lost ground. (Sorry about bolding a whole sentence for an action, but read on first post that you can make more actions then just the standard, so if that allows giving monkey an auto pass, would be nice, if not just drive defensively.)

Yep, that's fine. I'll rule that if MonkeyKong wants to hit DB specifically with the shell, you'll have dueling Race Checks to see if you can break faster than he shoots- otherwise, MK gets a free Pass during the Action Phase with no loss of Momentum.

Currently waiting on Dwarmin and adwarf- given my own recent update indiscretion, I'm inclined to give them a little more time before going on with the turn.

@Monk12: Ummm...why? O_o

Oomph isn't racing here. You're waiting on Monkeyhead/Monkeykong.

I'll blame GM sleep deprivation. :P

There's a reason I used separate chars for both races...

Sorry for the delay: I had a good excuse...

MonkeyKong was angry - another shell? OOOK! He wasnt about to lick this one and end up seeing flashy things again - instead, he threw it has hard as he could, and an angry ape could throw things quite well...

FIre shell at DB, drive agressively still after a banana...

Cerulean Speedway- Turn Seven

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Action Phase

Use that Blooper!

Then Drive Aggressively down the LONG WAY!

"Bloop."

Shy Guy unleashes THE BLOOPER, who wriggles off into the sky while spraying Ink across the windshield of each and every driver- that is, except for Boss Form Amadeus, who is shielded by his Invincibility! The ink imposes a -1 Penalty to Racing, Pass and Hazard Checks until the end of next turn, but can be washed off with Mushroom, Dash Panels or Stars.

Shy Guy, having inconvenienced his pursuers, elects to drive like a madman the long way around the pond, [1] and promptly bounces across the stoop of Bill's Seaside Cottage! He loses ONE Momentum and takes -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks as he shakily returns to the track!

(Taking a huge gamble, here...)

Fire that bloopers and power slide the outside!

Vaati curses as his windshield is spattered with ink, and immediately responds in kind! His Blooper flies ahead to obscure Shy Guy's windshield, indirectly causing him to crash! Pleased with his success, Vaati attempts to Powerslide past him, [2]+1-1 but can't quite judge the distance with all this ink!

Use the mushroom, and powerslide on the outside bridge!

Zelda is in prime position, and the Princess plans to pursue perfection! She activates her Mushroom, zipping forward with TWO Momentum, cleansing her windshield of Ink and moving to pass the hapless Vaati! [5]+5vs[4]+1-1 She easily handles the Great Wind Mage, losing ONE Momentum and hopping into a Powerslide as she passes! [5]+1 Her engines ignite at the perfect moment, sending her surging with ONE Momentum as she comes up on Shy Guy, the leader! [1]+5+1vs[4]-1-1 Shy Guy has absolutely zero chance to oppose the Princess, as Zelda loses ONE Momentum and takes FIRST PLACE!

Drive Aggressively yet again, but save the shell for later

Boss Form Amadeus is cautious, knowing he should save his shell for a more important target. Which is not to say he is defensive- rather, he aggressively attacks the track, hoping to catch up to the leader group! [2] Unfortunately, he is unable to increase his breakneck pace- but he's still got a shot at closing the gap!

Dry Bones begins Driving Defensively, hoping to avoid further Momentum loss and provide himself with firm footing to start a rally!

MonkeyKong was angry - another shell? OOOK! He wasnt about to lick this one and end up seeing flashy things again - instead, he threw it has hard as he could, and an angry ape could throw things quite well...

FIre shell at DB, drive agressively still after a banana...

MonkeyKong is tired of this turtle shell crap! He zeroes in on Dry Bones- Dry Bones, in turn, attempts to brake hard to avoid the inevitable shell! [2]vs[3] Dry Bones is barely able to keep outside of MonkeyKong's range, and the primate zips past, taking Fifth Place and losing no Momentum! Rather than dwell on missed opportunities, MonkeyKong looks to make up ground on Amadeus [6]-1 and positively blazes into the forest, gaining TWO Momentum and taking a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Princess Zelda is in the lead, taking the safe long way around the pond- she doesn't quite have the Momentum to Pull Ahead, but she's got a shot at the item boxes!

Shy Guy is just trying to get back on the track after his doorstep mishap!

Vaati is more than willing to take advantage of Shy Guy's misfortune, [5]+1-1vs[5]-1-1 and easily pulls past the masked racer, losing ONE Momentum and setting his sights on Zelda!

Boss Form Amadeus [3]+1-1 is a bit too overenthusiastic heading into the forest, striking a tree and rebounding off the path! He loses TWO Momentum as he struggles to find his way back on course!

MonkeyKong [5]+1-1-1 has little trouble evading the trees and shrubberies, sticking to a clear path as he zips on through! In fact, he has the opportunity to pass Amadeus as that racer blunders into the undergrowth, [6]+4-1-1vs[2]+3 and he pulls ahead before Amadeus can try to ram him off the track, losing ONE Momentum and taking Fourth Place!

Dry Bones [6]+1+1-1 has absolutely zero trouble with the overgrowth on Route 25, cautiously following Boss Form Amadeus as he waits for the Star Power to wear off!

Cleanup Phase

Princess Zelda gets a shot at an Item Box, [5]+2 which she does not waste! [2] She picks up a Fake Item
Box
and begins to drag it behind her Kart!

Vaati [6]+2-1 follows the example of the Princess, [1]+1 and also picks up a Fake Item Box!

Shy Guy gets back on the track, setting his Momentum to Zero! [5]+2-1-1 His low speed makes it easy to pick up one of the plentiful Item Boxes, [6]+2 and he snags a Red Shell!

Back in the forest, Boss Form Amadeus loses his Star Shield Invincibility! He doesn't bother looking for an Item Box in his offroad excursion since he already has a Blue Shell.

MonkeyKong looks for an Item Box, [6]+2-1-1 and following his monkey instincts ramps off a log, over a low-hanging branch and snags the Item Box hidden in the leaves! [2]+4+1 He picks up a Mushroom- he'll have to fire the Red Shell before he can use it though! ((Note- nothing prevents you from using both items in one turn, if you so desire))

Dry Bones [1]+2-1+1 just can't catch a break as there doesn't appear to be any Item Boxes in his path.

Upon further review, it's definitely illness of some kind, as I have now spread it to my loved ones and coworkers. Yay!

And as of now, we're back on 24 hour updates. Let's git'r'dun so we can move onto the Cup before July.

Meanwhile, a mysterious red haired, sword armed stranger sits in the stands, stroking a frisky Pikachu with bright red skin and cheering the racers...

"...Go Zelda! Show them what you got, girl..." She cheered, looking about. Seemed the woman was waiting for someone.
