-1 He is forced to give the cliff some respect, as the ink prevents him from accurately gauging how far off it is- but he's a hell of a lot more on target than MML was! Oomph gains

Last lap. Last chance for his comeback. Heaven or Hell, lets rock.
"This for this racer to fly!"Captain Falcon guns his engine as he drifts to the inside track, [6]
+1-1 expertly sparking a Powerslide despite flying blind! He surges ahead with
ONE Momentum and a
+1 bonus on Pass Checks, and although he is too far behind to make a move on Oomph he can certainly tighten the field by taking a shot at Mario!
The Bob-omb flies forward, [2]

-1 but Mario is too far ahead, the visibility too poor! The Bob-omb lands on the inner track just behind Mario, and begins flashing dangerously as its fuse winds down!
Bill takes the shortcut in the red section
"Here I come!"Bill Ryzer heads inside and activates his
MUSHROOM, gaining
FOUR Momentum and clearing his windshield of ink as he skims across the water! His shortcut brings him past Captain Falcon, [4]

+1+1-1 who has no chance to oppose the blazing Contra veteran! Bill climbs out of the basement into

ONE Momentum as he speeds away from Captain Falcon's Bob-omb, and clears his windshield of ink!
The Mysterious Mr. L hits the Dash Panel, gaining
ONE Momentum as he
drops a pair of bananas to slow his pursuit! His cackle of glee is cut short, however, as a Bob-omb suddenly lands on the track in front of him, primed to explode! [3]
+1 He barely evades the blast, skirting around to the outside and following Mario down the track!
Fortunately, Counselor Grimtoad doesn't have to deal with the race's second banana-y explosion- he just has to deal with the bananas strewn about the outer portion of
RED! [5]
+1-1-1 Grimtoad harshly compensates for the pulling of his Kart's supernatural affinity for the yellow peels, moving past the hazard with no difficulties!
Oomph is not so lucky as he must navigate a banana and then an explosive blast in quick succession, [4]

+1 but his surprising Kart skills let him breeze past the obstacles! He hits the Dash Panel for
ONE Momentum, and is poised for a big run up the leaderboard as he flies up behind Counselor Grimtoad! [2]

+2+1-1 The Counselor has little chance to resist as Oomph rockets past, taking
THIRD Place and losing
ONE Momentum!
He's not done yet, however, as he sets his sights on The Mysterious Mr. L! [6]

+4 Oomph craftily feints to the inside, and as MML moves to cut him off (and hopefully catch him in his trailing banana) Oomph reverses direction and races past on the outside, taking
SECOND Place and losing
ONE Momentum!
One more to go, but this time, it's the tenacious Mario Mario ahead- the very same Mario who cost Oomph his Koopaball career
many years ago! Oomph streaks to the inside, hoping to beat Mario to the bridge, [3]

+4+1 and cuts in front of him in the nick of time! Oomph claims
FIRST PLACE, losing
ONE Momentum! With two segments to go, can he hold on?
Meanwhile, Bill Ryzer has taken the shortcut, and now hits the Dash Panels, gaining
ONE Momentum! He maneuvers to avoid the Bananas dropped by The Mysterious Mr. L, [2]
+1 but catches one with his rear tire,
Spinning Out and losing
ONE Momentum! His spin sends him toward the precarious cliff edge, [3]
+2 but he manages to regain control of his Kart and shakily zoom ahead! Despite all this maneuvering, he still has the Momentum left over to make a move on Counselor Grimtoad, [6]

+2+1-1 and while the Toad makes a valiant effort, he simply does not have the speed to oppose Bill Ryzer! Bill moves ahead, losing
ONE Momentum, taking
Fourth Place, and closing with the tight group vying for a spot on the victor's podium!
Captain Falcon swerves to avoid the last banana on the segment, [6]
+1 and has absolutely no problem with it, hitting the Dash Panel for
ONE Momentum! The speed boost gives him enough of an edge to attempt a pass on Counselor Grimtoad, [2]

+2+1-1 but the dimension-hopping Toad has been passed quite enough for one turn! He savagely blocks Captain Falcon's pass attempt, forcing the F-Zero vet to languish in last place for another turn!
Cleanup PhaseCounselor Grimtoad is cleansed of the Ink!
TWO SEGMENTS TO GO! The limited number of boxes in
PURPLE are the last items that will matter, so it's quite an interesting choice between an item chance or guaranteed Momentum on a riskier route- this could be a close finish!
