With the veteran no longer dogging his tail, Captain Falcon had a moment to let out a sigh of relief as he skimmed across the currents and snagged one of the item blocks floating along. Triple bananas, huh? Looking behind him, he saw that the red plumber Mario had taken Bill's place, making it quite a difficult choice of who to drop the banana in front of. But what ultimately made his mind was the sound of the infamous blue shell headed his way. Gunning for 1st place now would be suicidal, and he would have to wait for after the explosion to make his move. He

Mr. L's eyes lit up as he saw what materialized in his hand, this was his big chance.  See ya later suckers!

Use the Mushroom and Take That Shortcut!

((I can't remember, and can't seem to find it: Is it possible to Drive Defensively at the same time to avoid the items?  I don't think so, but if so, then Drive Defensively as well.))

Counselor Grimtoad: Powerslide on the inside track, and shoot Green Shells at other inhabitants of the inside track, especially the Mysterious Mr. L.
((Why does Bill Ryzer have 5 momentum? He just fell off the course, and got a two momentum boost, so shouldn't he have 2 momentum?))

^  How many green shells can you shoot off in one turn?  If you're going by the game, launching all three should be plenty possible.

You can shoot of all three shells in one turn, according to the OP.

Whups, my bad- you're right, I just forgot to record it.

Also, due to my long-ass work day the turn will get delayed until tomorrow night. I humbly apologize.

A small squeaksqueaksqueak sound followed by a loud crash announced the arrival of Fox's rickety kart in the parking lot. Moments later, (after a brief yet unpleasant standoff with security before he managed to convince them he was infact a racer,) the man himself arrived, half a bottle down and looking rather unsteady.

Fox McCloud staggers his way through the stands, stepping on feet, obstructing people's views and generally making an unwitting pest of himself before collapsing heavily into a seat, hurriedly unscrewing the cap on his paper-bag-wrapped bottle as he blearily watches the race.
"Come on, Bill... You ca*hic*an do this!"

Yoshi Falls- Turn Eight

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Action Phase

Oomph didn't have teeth, but he would have gritted them if he could.

Action: Outside Angle, Defensive driving! Dodge the Hell Shell!

Oomph, seeing the Blue Shell coming up fast, begins Driving Defensively along the safe outside path! It's a slim hope, but better than nothing!

He

Drop triple bananas, take outside lane, defensive driving

Captain Falcon swings to the outside, preparing to make the outside lane much less safe! He Drives Defensively- there's going to be quite the explosion in a moment!

Powerslide on the inside. Drop the bob-omb behind me.

Mario swings to the inside lane, [5]+1 his engines flaring as he Powerslides forward with ONE Momentum extra! He attempts to pass the cautious Captain Falcon, [5]+5+1vs[1]+4+1 and easily moves ahead, losing ONE Momentum and taking Second Place! He prepares to drop the Bob-omb on any foolish enough to follow!

Mr. L's eyes lit up as he saw what materialized in his hand, this was his big chance.

Use the Mushroom and Take That Shortcut!

See ya later suckers!

The Mysterious Mr. L follows Mario to the inside path, but wheras Mario keeps high to make it back onto the bridge, MML goes low and activates his Mushroom! He gains FOUR Momentum as he slides across the water, and his aggressive movement gives him the opportunity to pass Captain Falcon! [1]+7vs[3]+4+1 Amazingly, the F-Zero veteran manages to cut him off on the other side by the barest of margins! MML swerves to avoid the bananas dragged by Captain Falcon, [5]-1 and evades the hazard!

Counselor Grimtoad: Powerslide on the inside track, and shoot Green Shells at other inhabitants of the inside track, especially the Mysterious Mr. L.

Counselor Grimtoad [6]+1 Powerslides like a BOSS, exploding forward with TWO Momentum! The Mysterious Mr. L is already midstream, preventing a pass attempt, but Grimtoad has a trick up his sleeve- or rather, a shell! Three of them. And not so much up his sleeve as floating around his Kart. Yeah, that metaphor fell apart there a little.

...

Three Green Shells spin toward the Mysterious Mr. L! [2]-1+1vs[2] The first shell just misses, [2]-1+1vs[2] and the second shell brackets MML, [6]-1+1vs[6] while the third shell strikes a rock mid-river, skipping over the Mysterious Mr. L and flying up the track! He breaths a sigh of relief as the green death races off!

The three shells continue on their way, entering the outside lane and threatening Captain Falcon! [1]-1-1vs[5] The first shell ricochets off a fence post, flying backwards down the track towards the Mysterious Mr. L! [1]-1-1vs[1] The second shell, once again, does the exact same thing on the other side of Captain Falcon, and also ricochets backward down the track! The third shell catches Captain Falcon off-guard as it spirals down from the sky, [1]-1-1+1vs[4] whereupon it catches the lip of the inside track and goes spinning back down the track!

The Mysterious Mr. L is quite surprised to find all three green shells rushing toward him like a hail of Koopas! [1]-1+1vs[2] He reacts quickly enough to jerk to the side, and the first shell strikes yet another rock and goes flying forward up the track! [3]-1+1vs[5] The second shell misses cleanly, skipping across the water back towards Counselor Grimtoad, [1]-1+1vs[6] and the third shell strikes a rock once again, this time causing it to reverse direction back towards Captain Falcon!

Captain Falcon finds that two shells have once more been served upon him! [6]-1-1vs[5] The first shell misses, but plinks off a fencepost at an odd angle as it flies up the track toward Mario! [2]-1-1vs[6] The second shell takes a much less exciting bounce forward.

Meanwhile, Counselor Grimtoad is dealing with an unexpected Shell Attack! [2]-1vs[1] He evades the blow, and the shell flies off the cliff!

Up ahead, Mario finds a pair of shells have caught up with him! [4]-1-1+1vs[3] He jerks out of the way of the first shell, [4]-1-1vs[5] and the second shell poses little threat at all on its way up the track.

Oomph, currently concerned about an entirely different shell, must now contend with two others! [5]-1-1vs[2]+1 His caution is the only thing that saves him from the first strike, [5]-1-1vs[2]+1 and he narrowly evades the other close shell! Both shells continue harmlessly up the course!

Bill drafted, trying to catch up and speed ahead, his face serious and hard as concrete.

While everyone is distracted by the multitude of bouncing shells, Bill Ryzer is way the hell back in BLUE! Unfortunately, he has nobody to draft behind, and so he rumbles along the outside path!

Quote from: Blue Shell
:D

The Blue Shell arrives at the front of the pack, circling above Oomph before striking downward! [2]+6vs[1]+1 As expected, the Shell is able to pinpoint the Koopa's position, and makes a direct hit! Oomph flies into the air, losing all Momentum and items!

Behind him, Mario swerves to avoid the blast, [6] and manages to squeeze through a narrow opening! Captain Falcon maneuvers to avoid the blast radius, [5] and handily circumvents the point of impact!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Oomph has no Momentum, but valiantly putters out onto the track to defend his lead!

Mario drops his Bob-omb as he crosses the bridge, leaving it to detonate on the unfortunates behind him! He hits the Dash Panels on the inside, gaining ONE Momentum and moving to pass Oomph, [1]+6+1vs[6]+1 who quite frankly has no chance to resist. Mario loses ONE Momentum and takes First Place for the first time in the race!

Captain Falcon [1]-2+1 can't avoid the Bob-omb as it detonates in the center of the bridge, shattering the hood of his Kart! [6] His wheel begins to stick, but his Compensator springs into action, offsetting the serious damage! Unfortunately, it can't offset the explosive force of the Bob-omb, which sends him flying into the air with 0 Momentum! His bananas scatter across the bridge behind him!

The Mysterious Mr. L is, fortunately, not on the bridge, and hits a Dash Panel for ONE Momentum! [4]+8vs[3]+0+1 Captain Falcon is too busy tumbling through the air to oppose MML's pass attempt, and he loses ONE Momentum on his way to third! He finds Oomph ahead of him, struggling to recover from his Blue Shell mishap, [3]+7vs[1]+0+1 and has little trouble in surpassing him for second place, losing ONE Momentum! Only Mario is ahead of him now, [6]+6vs[4]+5 and the mustachioed plumber loses the lead he only recently gained! The Mysterious Mr. L claims First Place and loses ONE Momentum!

Counselor Grimtoad swerves to avoid the chaos on the bridge, [2] [6] and while he evades the flying fruit he is caught up in the Bob-omb's pyrotechnics, spinning out and losing ONE Momentum! His momentum takes him toward the inside track and it's cliff edge o' doom, [5] but he easily regains traction! Grimtoad gets his Momentum back as he cuts in toward the Dash Panels, and he moves to pass Captain Falcon! [4]+4vs[2]+0+1 The embattled Falcon has little opportunity to cut off Grimtoad, and Grimtoad loses ONE Momentum as he claims fourth place! He moves on to the struggling Oomph, [2]+3vs[1]+0+1 and hardly breaks his racing line as he moves on into third place, losing ONE Momentum! His charge ends there, however, as the leaders as quite some distance ahead!

Bill Ryzer finally enters Lap Three! He heads into the Red Segment- remember there's bananas on the outside lane now, from that explosion!

Cleanup Phase

Not much this time, and thank goodness- this was a long update. Hopefully I didn't miss anything in those many, many rolls.

Quick question, why did that bob-omb give Falcon a hiccup? Last time I checked, Mario doesn't have a faulty weapons system.
