Dammit, I thought I already posted!

Harkinian snaps out of his food-related daydream and continues the race! "Hmm... I wonder what's for dinner?"
Powerslide through the inner curve!

You mentioned that powerslides on these curves allow for pass attempts regardless of momentum, right?

Sure do!

I am inspired to design a track!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I like it! Purple is a particularly nice little choice for the drivers. If I may ask, what specific advantage were you thinking of for the shortcut in Blue- automatic Pull Ahead regardless of intervening drivers? Either that or a substantial Momentum boost is in order- think I might make the Jump a little bit trickier in either event. The only thing I might change is Item Box placement; the Item Boxes in Orange won't really count on the last lap. I may push those back to Purple, with the caveat that the Dash Panel Path bypasses them. Or maybe you just don't get a bonus on the Items either, same as the Hazard.

Here is the bio for Pengu Games

Pengu Games originated as a penguin living in sherbet land who realized how cute people think penguins are. From then on, that penguin gathered a group of friends to start making games about various adventures penguins had had. It was a huge success, and soon after penguins came from everywhere to try and get a piece of the fame. They like keeping a clean image, and generally won't undertake scandal.

Added!

I will pretty it up sometime later. In fact, I'll do it Pokemon style.

I AM INTRIGUED AND EXCITED BY YOUR CHOICE OF WORDS

I had +2 momentum for making the jump written down in my notes, but apparently it got lost in translation.  I was considering an item box at the top that's guaranteed to be hit by the first driver across the jump each turn as well if that wasn't enough.  Also, failing the sharp curve check in Red is a small penalty- probably -1 momentum from bouncing off walls.

I tried to include a few interesting choices for drivers, and I agree Purple was the best.  It's inspired from actual gameplay, as well; there are a few courses where dash panels are awfully risky to take.   Item box placement was hard on this one- originally there was a small line in Purple as well that got nixed in the final design.  Purple's the logical spot, but I don't think they mix well with the design.  Ones in Orange wouldn't be useful in the final lap, sure, but if it's a three lap race I don't see that being a huge issue.  Two lap race may be- but if it's two laps, there's room for another section between Purple and Orange which the item boxes would be moved to.

Another possibility would be swapping the Orange and Purple segment, but that interferes with the grand design of the track- a long hard middle with an easier start/finish.

Fox and Harkinian are my favorites so far. Specially because I imagine Fox's eye twitching as he has horrible flashbacks of past battles.

Luigi Circuit- Turn Nine
1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Player Action

Powerslide around the outside!

Crank Powerslides toward the outside Dash Panels, [5]+1 and executes the maneuver brilliantly, gaining a +1 bonus on Pass Attempts and ONE Momentum!

Drive aggressively around the outside

Next race I'm driving without a module. :/

Luigi drives fast and takes chances, [2] but they don't pan out- the Poltergust 4000 fails to keep up with Crank!

>Drive aggressively, through the inside!

"Activate boost... Come on..."

Fox McCloud cuts inside, seeing an opportunity to boost ahead of Luigi! [1] Unfortunately, unlike his old Arwing, his Kart doesn't actually have a boost lever! The past and the present collide in an incoherent blur as Fox looks down at his dashboard in confusion, and by the time his senses are straight he finds he has lost ONE Momentum!

Powerslide through the inner curve!

"Hmm... I wonder what's for dinner? Maybe I should make toast...Oh wait, the race!"

King Harkinian snaps out of his toast-related daydream and goes into a Powerslide towards the inner portion of the track! [5]+1 His slide is flawless, granting a +1 on Pass Attempts, ONE Momentum and an immediate chance to pass Fox! [3]+5+1vs[2]+4 He moves ahead with gust, passing Fox for Third Place and losing ONE Momentum! Unfortunately, he lacks the momentum to make a move on Luigi!

Powerslide on the inside.

Kirby goes into a Powerslide on the inner portion of the curve, [3]+1 and finally pulls off a successful boost, sending his Star-Shielded Kart hurtling towards Fox McCloud's in an attempt to Ram him out of the way! [6]+4vs[4]+4 Fox is sent flipping- losing TWO Momentum- and Kirby's excellent racing line means he loses no Momentum for the attempt! Kirby continues his climb up the Leaderboard, but he doesn't quite have the angle to make a go at ruining King Harkinian's day!

Agressive outside!

Link, seeing his King move ahead, Drives Aggressively to keep up! [5] His Kart-handling skills give him TWO Momentum and sends him flying towards the outer path!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Crank hits the Dash Panels on the outer portion of the track, and attempts to parlay that Momentum burst into a Pull Ahead try! [5] FINALLY, somebody separates from the pack as Crank blazes into the Final Lap, losing THREE Momentum from pulling ahead but gaining ONE back from the Dash Panel in RED. Crank will try to navigate PURPLE next turn!

Luigi follows Crank around the outside, gaining ONE Momentum and trying to follow Crank in his forward burst! [5]-1 HE SUCCEEDS (for real this time!) as he loses THREE Momentum before hitting the RED Dash Panel to recoup ONE. He's right behind Crank in what promises to be a wild Final Lap!

King Harkinian is pulling through the inner path, and while he lacks the breakneck velocity of Luigi and Crank he still has enough Momentum to try and follow! [4] Harkinian's horrible guffaw reverberates throughout the track as he ALSO PULLS AHEAD, losing THREE Momentum before the RED Dash Panel gives ONE back! It's a three horse race heading into Purple, and Harkinian will have an Item!

Kirby, unexpectedly, finds his move into Fourth Place has given him an opportunity to Pull Ahead! [1] Kirby is so very shocked by this turn of events that not only does he fail to capitalize, but he slows down a bit as he watches the leaders speed away! Kirby loses ONE Momentum!

Fox McCloud is in no condition to Pull Ahead even if Kirby had succeeded, and he putters determinedly towards the Item boxes!

Link hits the Dash Panels on the outside of the course, gaining ONE Momentum and moving to pass Fox! [3]+5vs[4]+2 He succeeds, losing ONE Momentum and claiming Fifth Place!

Cleanup Phase

Hakinian aims for an Item Box on his way through BLUE, [3]+1 and barely hits one on his mad dash, [2]+2 and gets ANOTHER BLOOPER! His laughter takes on a maniacal edge!

Kirby [6]+1 nails his Item Box, [3]+3+1 snagging a Red Shell! His Invincibility wears off!

Fox [3]+1 manages to scrape an Item Box in his fall from grace, [6]+5+1 and hits the jackpot, claiming the Rare and Powerful Thunderbolt!

FINAL LAP, boys and girls- it's now or never!

Aggressive! Use Blue Shell!

I knew it. I KNEW IT. Items will be the death of me. Anyway, does the +1 from the power slide apply to the pulling ahead roll? I hate to do this to myself, but if not then I can't pull ahead, thanks to my module's hiccup. (But at least then Scelly would get a Boo instead of a blue shell, far less dangerous to me.)

If the blue shell/pull ahead still happens, share the blue shell's effects with Crank, and hit the outer dash panels to avoid falling back.

If not and I'm navigating the straightaway, power slide once more and hope to actually pull ahead this time.

Another edit:
One more thing, shouldn't Kirby have gotten a shot at the item boxes?

Oh bloody hell (stupid hiccups.) Yeah, that shouldn't be- the turn has been edited so you and Crank are no longer out in front, and Link has a Boo. Scelly9 needs to post if he wants to change his action or use the Boo.

Sorry, I should have PM'd you directly.

>Drive aggressively, through the inside!

I was debating a Fan Favorite award, but since most everybody watching this thread is a racer or sponsor, I figured the reward would be tainted by outside interests. The more I think about it, though, the more I think I'll have one anyway- winner gets +1 Fame, drivers in that race and sponsors are disqualified from voting.

This also implies that the racer's mic is available for the spectator to hear (which is true IRL, so it'd make sense.) This also implies that racers could be held accountable for their on-track banter (*coughSPORESPILLERcough*) which might affect Image- maybe that'll be a PR saving throw or something, I don't know. Good idea/Bad idea? Something to think about as we enter the last lap!

In case of fan favorite for first race, gonna have to go with Harkinian so far. On a side note, no way the 3rd race is going to be interesting considering the amount of mooks/bosses in it =P
