This settles it, the blooper is now officially the best Mario Kart item of all time. Just how many ink-related hiccups have we had by now?  :o

That reminds me, in the games, it only affected those who were in front of you. Maybe a rule change for the next race?

How in the world did he get there?!

HOW DID DRY BONES GET THERE?!

Shy Guy stared a while at the pair of red fuzzy snake eyed dice hung on his rear-view mirror before considering his options:

Ram him - Momentum...
Powerslide - Too slow.
Drive Aggressively/Defensively - Not enough chance for second place.
Panic and holler wildly as I try for third ✗✗✗✗✗✗✗ - Not a chance.
D-draft

. . .

Wait, what was that one again?

DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY. Then do the shroom.

Edit: I have a mushroom?!

Monk: If I choose to draft and use the mushroom, how many attempts at passing do I get?

"Not using that mushroom, masked creature?" He asks while savoring his milk-shake.

"Ohh, now things are better."

>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

If you Draft and use the Mushroom, you get 2 attempts during the Action Phase- during the draft you have a small chance to gain one Momentum. Note that if you manage to pass during the Action Phase, Dry Bones gets a shot to try and pass you during the Movement Phase (assuming his Momentum is higher than yours, and I don't foresee an eventuality where it wouldn't be.)

"Tee Hee Hee!"

This mushroom, the source of the power of that insidious plumber.

Now it was his.

But how to use it? Lift it up in the air with his arms? Pull it up from underneath him?

Cerulean Speedway- Turn Twelve

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Action Phase

(I think the radio needs a nerf, it's totally op right now.) "Ha, I'm in second...Ha! Thank you wishing fountain!!!! Then again I did only kinda give the equivalent10 grand to it..." DRIVE DEFENSIVELY

Dry Bones has open road ahead and his worries are far behind- he Drives Defensively to try and hold his position!

"Tee Hee Hee!"

This mushroom, the source of the power of that insidious plumber.

Now it was his.

But how to use it? Lift it up in the air with his arms? Pull it up from underneath him?

DRAFT AND THEN USE THAT MUSHROOM

Shy Guy tries desperately to close the gap with Dry Bones, [4]+0-1vs[5]+5+1 but the skeletal Koopa is simply too far ahead! Shy Guy wilts as the last slot in the Star Cup remains as far out of his grasp as the Moon Zone.

....wait. When did Shy Guy get this Mushroom?

He ponders it a moment- he's seen Mario use the damn thing plenty of times, but he only seemed to touch it before growing enormous. Everyone in this race had been behind Shy Guy when they used theirs. What, do you eat it? Maybe it's like those stars Mario's always catching, you just pick it up and it works...

Shy Guy lifts the Mushroom up in the air, and waves it like he just don't care! The shroom jostles the side of the Kart, and the Stardust Operating System recognizes the exciting new fuel source, immediately dematerializing the Mushroom and routing the raw energy to the engine! Shy Guy surges forward with TWO Momentum, clearing himself of Ink and blazing toward Dry Bones!

[1]+2vs[6]+5+1 ...dang Dry Bones really is far ahead, isn't he? Well that's depressing.

(Fuck.)

Drive aggressively, bridge.

Vaati the Wind Mage of Hyrule finds himself beside MonkeyKong, and the vengeful simian looks angry. He puts the pedal to the metal, [5] gaining TWO Momentum, heading to the bridge with -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks and trying to stay out of MonkeyKong's way!

OOOOOOOOOOOOK!

Monkey was red with rage. If the sequence of hits and crashes werent enough, now his kart was damaged and he had lost another place. An angry ape knew only one way to act: RAM VAATI!

MonkeyKong prepares to Ram Vaati, and is somewhat disconcerted when the Hyrulian zips away. He follows over the bridge- hopefully an opportunity will present itself!

Quote from: adwarf
...connection lost...

Boss Form Amadeus ignores the combatative drivers ahead as he takes a nice long loop around the pond.

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Dry Bones [1] is startled by the charging Shy Guy behind him, swerving wildly to deny passage and losing ONE Momentum!

Shy Guy [5] takes a rather good racing line, gaining a +1 bonus on Pass Checks! Regrettably, he does not have the Momentum to press his advantage!

Vaati once again braves the bridge, [5]+1-1 this time easily dodging the Goldeen splashes as he gains TWO Momentum! His quick driving gives him the chance to Pull Ahead and leave MonkeyKong in his dust, [6] and he succeeds MOST READILY blazing downhill and nearly catching up to Shy Guy as he loses FOUR Momentum!

MonkeyKong [3]+1 barely manages to evade the Water Guns of the pool, and gains TWO Momentum, but is dismayed as his potential playmate zooms off into the distance! [1] He does not follow, losing ONE Momentum ....ook?

Boss Form Amadeus does nothing.

Cleanup Phase

Dry Bones holds on for Second Place! He pulls into the winners circle beside Zelda before the Cerulean City Gym, having earned a slot in the Star Cup!

Shy Guy falls short in his charge, settling for Third Place and earning back his entrance fee.

Vaati, the Great Wind Mage of Hyrule tears up the track, races downhill and blazes across the finish line... for Fourth Place.

Since we haven't heard from adwarf for a while, I'm gonna go ahead and call the race at this point- MonkeyKong rumbles across the finish line for Fifth Place.

Boss Form Amadeus rounds out the lists at Sixth Place.

And there we go! I'll be heading to bed on my end shortly, so tomorrow we'll get a post-race wrapup and start up the Meta phase before getting into the long-awaited Star Cup. This Meta phase will probably be a bit longer than usual since I need to catch up on other things I've been neglecting- maybe a week. I'll address that with my next post.

Yeah, if adwarf hadn't vanished the race could've gone very differently (and by that I mean I would've won).  Perhaps after a certain amount of missed turns the audience could take over a racer?
Congrats to Taricus and Dirg.

Vaati curses, vows to have his revenge next time, and vanishes in a tornado!

(Coming Soon to a Koopa mart discount bin near you, Don't Stop Believing: The DB Kooper Story.) "WoooHOOOO!!!" Db yelled as he did donuts at the finish line while twirling his head around on a finger. 'Wonder if I should thank the princess for laying down that blinding ink that took out some of the guys ahead of me.' Db thought to himself as he finished and drove the kart over to the pits, then deciding against it as he noticed the string of curse words flowing from the princesses mouth. "Guess the floors in the land of hyrule aren't the only thing that need to be cleaned...."

Hello Racing Fans, and welcome to this special postgame edition of the Mushroom Sports Network, presented by HFS Inc! I'm Jim!
And I'm Bob!
And we're the Lakitu brothers!
Reporting live from Cerulean City Gym, where we've had the privilege to witness quite the race!
That's right, Jim! Princess Zelda turned in an absolutely dominating performance, and she figures to be an early favorite heading into the Star Cup!
After falling behind early, she carefully worked her way back up the ranks, and after the leader was struck down by a Blue Shell she took her shot, raced up the leaderboard and jumped out to an insurmountable lead for the last lap!
She's lucky she didn't get shell'd, Jim! Not moments ago, Boss Form Amadeus was given a Mercy Flight to Saffron City Medical Center after apparently suffering a series of seizures in mid-race. No word yet on whether he will recover.
Early prognosis indicates a severe case of Stardust Poisoning, possibly due to a poorly maintained Kart or hazardous leakage from that Blue Shell he held onto for so long. The League Safety Committee has promised an investigation into the matter.
In lighter news, look at the silly monkey! Ha ha!
You said it, Bob! Although perhaps one of the most unfortunate racers, MonkeyKong certainly ranks among the more entertaining!
He made a good attempt at the end there, but ultimately fell prey to Bill's pond, along with Vaati.
The Great Wind Mage of Hyrule was certainly upset about that! I don't know as I've ever seen such a display of track-side rage; entirely understandable given how his day ended. Not since Oomph took the track have we seen such a solid overall performance fall short at the last gasp.
Sounds like you're forgetting Shy Guy, Jim! It seemed like he would run away with the race before Blue Shells and poor luck conspired to drop him from gold to bronze!
That's right, Bob- for somebody who never fell below third place, that has to be a disappointing finish. He just couldn't close with Dry Bones at the end.
Speaking of, Dry Bones turned in quite the inspirational performance, managing to run from last place to second in the space of a single lap!
Amazing, especially considering the charge Captain Falcon made last week! It will be interesting to see which of these never-say-die competitors can duplicate the performance at the Star Cup!
And speaking of the Star Cup, Jim, the placement has been finalized!
Indeed it has, Bob! Crank, The Mysterious Mr. L, and Princess Zelda all earn a slot by virtue of their victories! Luigi, Captain Falcon, and Dry Bones all tied for Points Leader- they also tied for Crowns and Fame. The third tiebreaker is Precedence, the time since their last race, and so Luigi took Points Leader while Captain Falcon took Points Second Place! This left the Most Famous slot open for Dry Bones, Counselor Grimtoad, Fox McCloud, and the unnamed winner of this week's Driver of the Week competition (cast your ballots!) Because Dry Bones has more Points than any other potential candidate, he clinches the final slot in the Star Cup!
The racers and sponsors will get an extra week to prepare for the event as contracts need to be signed, repairs made, Modules purchased, and bids placed!
That's right, Bob! It's all been leading up to this, and no expense will be spared to secure the first Cup of the new MKL era! For up to the minute coverage, don't change that dial from us, the Lakitu Brothers, here on the Mushroom Sports Network!

You tried, but it didn't work though. Next time, though!

Alrighty! Hopefully I can get some Sponsor Actions done later, but first I must work. The racers with fame who currently do not have a Sponsor are Zelda, Dry Bones and Captain Falcon- all three of them are also racing in the Star cup, to boot. Speaking of, the Star Cup can have up to three sponsors, so bidding for that will start soon. Also, Driver of the Week ballots are open, so cast some votes!

Ah, it'll be nice to race again. Anyway, down to more serious business...

Trade offer:
Looking to trade modules, I'm willing to offer my own or coins in trade, and I'm looking for a compensator in particular (although I'm interested in whatever you might have to offer).
