(CRAP.  That turn was just awful.)
Vaati mutters some ancient words too filthy for the tv crew to air, as he chooses to drive aggressively and use that mushroom.

Db laughed as he rammed the space ape out of his way, and started singing to the radio playing in the background as it gave him the boost he needed. "Working hard to get my fill. Everybody wants a thriiill" Db sang as he approached the bridge, foot still pressing hard against the gas. "Paying anything to roll the dice just one more time." DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY!

Powerslide on the outside, aim for an item box!

Zelda taunts the slowpokes behind her, then darts off.

OOOOOoook.... the pesky female plumber (as all the bald apes were plumbers in MonkeyKongs eyes) was far too far ahead to hit with the bomb, and MonkeyKong sure as hell wasnt going to take a bite out of it!

Drop the bomb behind to get rid of it before it is too late. Powerslide the wide curve hoping to gain on the female plumber and get a useful item before the sprint to the finish

Cerulean Speedway- Turn Ten

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Action Phase

Powerslide on the outside, aim for an item box!

Zelda taunts the slowpokes behind her, then darts off.

Pass in front of Bill's Seaside Cottage, Princess Zelda goes into a Powerslide along the outside, [2]+1 but gets sloppy with her driving, failing to ignite her engines!

MonkeyKong quickly drops his Bob-omb in the Route 25 forest, [3]-1vs[1] just before running into the Green Shell Zelda fired last turn! He flips, losing TWO Momentum! The concussion makes him confused about where exactly he is, [2]-1 and his powerslide attempt bounces him off a tree, causing him to lose an additional ONE Momentum!

Drive Aggressively
Fire Red Shell.

Shy Guy follows MonkeyKong closely- as the simian drops his Bob-omb, Shy Guy launches his Red Shell! [4]+3vs[5] Fortunately, the safeties do not fail, and the shell strikes home! MonkeyKong flips through the forest, losing TWO Momentum! Shy Guy [4] follows up his strike with some slick driving, gaining ONE Momentum but taking a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

(CRAP.  That turn was just awful.)
Vaati mutters some ancient words too filthy for the tv crew to air, as he chooses to drive aggressively and use that mushroom.

Vaati struggles with his sticky wheel, [6] forcing his Kart to respond by sheer force of will! He gains THREE Momentum but suffers a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks as he activates his Mushroom- the fungus fuels an additional burst of speed, giving him TWO Momentum and the opportunity to pass Shy Guy! [1]+5vs[6]+2 Vaati is too far back, however, but he does make up quite a bit of distance, blazing into the Forest!

Thank you for tuning into our Evolution Power Hour here on KFNG radio- next up, we'll be taking a little Journey!
"I love this song! Working hard to get my fill. Everybody wants a thriiill~"

[5]+1 Dry Bones loses himself in the music, becoming one with the Kart! He blazes across Nugget Bridge, gaining THREE Momentum while suffering a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

Boss Form Amadeus decides to Drive Defensively for some reason!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Zelda is taking the safe outer path, and lacks the Momentum to Pull Ahead!

[2]+1-1 MonkeyKong's many flips have brought him to rest in the dense undergrowth off the track! His wheels spin impotently in the lush vegetation, and he loses TWO Momentum!

Shy Guy [6]-1-1 manages to evade the blast [5]+1-1 by hopping over a log and zipping along a game trail through the forest! He comes up on MonkeyKong stuck on the side of the road, [1]+2vs[2]-6 and easily passes him, reclaiming Second Place and losing ONE Momentum!

Vaati the Wind Mage [6]-1 curves wide around the Bob-omb blast radius, [6]+1-1 easily picking his way through the forest! He moves to pass MonkeyKong, [6]+5vs[6]-6 and while the primate manages to get back on the path he is in no position to oppose Vaati the Great! Vaati loses ONE Momentum as he takes third place and sets his sights on second, speeding up behind Shy Guy! [5]+4vs[6]+2 The little red guy drives furiously, but is unable to overcome Vaati's boosted speed! The Hyrulian loses ONE Momentum as he reclaims Second Place- can he hold on to the end of the race?

Dry Bones is coming off Nugget Bridge at a blistering pace, [2]-1 and barrels into Vaati's Fake Item Box! Fortunately, he is INVINCIBLE, effortlessly batting the hazard into the stands as he tries to make up ground! [4] He manages to slide onto Route 25, [6]+1-1 and through some miracle avoids wrecking himself on the hazardous segment! He PULLS AHEAD, losing FOUR Momentum as he catches up to the pack, giving himself a chance for a last minute surge!

Boss Form Amadeus clips along with no particular ambition, enjoying scenic Cerulean City!

Cleanup Phase

Zelda [2]+2 has no particular trouble hitting one of the plentiful Item Boxes in GREEN, [5] picking up a Blooper!

Vaati [2]-1 does not find any Items to hit in the PURPLE forest!

Shy Guy [3]-1 is too busy dodging the explosion to waste time on Item hunting!

MonkeyKong [6]-1 sees an Item Box way the heck off the path- considering he's already falling behind, he takes a little time out of his way to go get it! [6]+3+1 He picks up a Blue Shell, which isn't terribly helpful since it won't hit before Zelda crosses the finish line, and won't target anyone else until it is too late. Fooey. He does pull back onto the course, resetting his Momentum to 0!

Dry Bones [5]+1-1 is pleased to note that the Fake Item Box was sharing space with a real one, [2]+4+1 and is lucky enough to pick up a Mushroom! The invincibility wears off as the skeletal Koopa eyes the racers between himself and the final slot in the Star Cup!

Boss Form Amadeus doesn't bother sweating about the Items on Nugget Bridge because he still has a Blue Shell hogging his inventory- probably should have launched that this turn.

Yeah, so since the Blue Shell didn't launch this turn, there isn't anything that can stop Zelda apart from deliberately screwing herself up. This makes the brewing battle for Second Place that much more important, as that position guarantees entry to the Star Cup- Items or Bridge, what's your choice, racers?

((Could anyone explain rankings at the end of each race? Am a bit lost in there.))

After every race, drivers receive career Points- points are a measure of how accomplished a driver is even if they lack the fame or coin that comes from outright wins. Drivers are organized by their Points, which are used to determine eligibility for Cup participation or which race you participate in during the regular season. It'll come up after this race for determining who gets in the Star Cup, and after the Cup for determining who gets in which race next season.

Sponsors are ranked by their Prestige, which directly correlates to their earning power. If something isn't clear, feel free to ask!

(Journey, don't fail me now!) "Some will win, some will looose." Db continued to sing as he surged through the forest, and began to DRAFT and ACTIVATE his MUSHROOM on the INSIDE. "Some where born to sing the blu-ues! Oh the movie never ends, it goes on and on and on and on~" -Edit- Just changed powerslide to draft after remembering my horrible luck with powerslides... And from outside to inside.... Man I am horrible about editing my posts.

Cerulean Speedway- Turn Eleven

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Action Phase

LAUNCH THE BLOOPER! Defensive driving.

((AKA Screw you guys, I'm making your lives a misery!))

Zelda coasts downhill, Driving Defensively toward the finish line! For her final act, she releases THE BLOOPER, spattering the windshields of her opponents with ink and imposing a -1 Penalty to basically everything!

(Woohoo!)

"Bwahahahaha!"
Drive defensively on the bridge!  Maintain second place!

Vaati drives defensively across the bridge, hoping to get enough cushion to stay ahead!

((Taricus, screw yourself up!  :P

adwarf, why didn't you connect! D: ))

Drive aggressively!

One stretch. Just one more stretch. Only that one more and-...

Why wasn't anyone else using their blue shells?!

Shy Guy heads to the outside, driving furiously to keep up with the shortcut-takers! [2]-1 Suddenly, ink sprays everywhere, blocking his vision! He blunders into the grass beside the road, losing ONE Momentum as he skids uncontrollably!

Well, that was infuriating. No-one liked the ape it seemed, not even the trees. Now or never.... OOOKK!

Drive aggresivley over the shortcut bridge

MonkeyKong takes an aggressive line on the narrow bridge, [3]-1 but his risk fails to pay dividends! He takes a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks as he blindly skids onto the shortcut!

"Some will win, some will looose."

Dry Bones drafts behind MonkeyKong, [5]+4-1vs[4]+0-1 easily passing the simian with no loss of Momentum!

"Some were born to sing the blu-ues!"

Dry Bones activates his Mushroom, bursting forward with TWO Momentum, wiping away the Ink and immediately attempting to out-speed Shy Guy! [5]+6vs[1]+1-1 He has no problem crossing the bridge before Shy Guy completes his long turn, taking Third Place and losing ONE Momentum!

"Oh the movie never ends, it goes on and on and on and on~"

...connection lost...

What a nice day for a drive. The foliage around Cerulean is beautiful this time of year- Boss Form Amadeus takes some time to stop and smell the roses!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Zelda [6] is supremely unpressured as she takes an efficient, no-nonsense line down the road, gaining ONE Momentum and a +1 bonus to Pass Checks! Not that anyone is in any position to oppose her.

Vaati cuts onto the bridge, gaining TWO Momentum from his shortened path! The Goldeen, seeing multiple drivers coming to play, start spraying water everywhere! [2]+1+1-1 Although Vaati the Wind Mage of Hyrule is careful, the Ink covering his windshield creates a blindspot he can't compensate for, and a blast of water sends his kart flipping! He loses TWO Momentum as he struggles to regain control; [1]+2-1 unfortunately, Karts are not terribly responsive when their wheels are in the air! Vaati falls into the pool of water, Falling Back and virtually ending his chances in this race.

Dry Bones flies onto the bridge, gaining TWO Momentum! [3]+1 He readily evades the Water Guns and Hydro Pumps of the mischievous Goldeen, maneuvering through to the other side of the bridge! He has no trouble passing Vaati as the magician splutters in the water, and in fact has a chance to end this race NOW. [1] He gets overeager, however, and his harsh line causes him to rumble across a patch of dirt, losing ONE Momentum! The question is, can anyone catch him now?

Shy Guy rumbles around the safe outer path, furiously attempting to keep pace!

MonkeyKong hops onto the bridge, gaining TWO Momentum! He blindly swerves through the volley of water, [1]+1-1-1 and catches a Water Gun right in the ol' exhaust pipe! He flips forward, losing TWO Momentum and landing with a sickening crunch [8] as the Stardust-powered weapons system goes haywire, causing his Weapons to become Faulty! No time to lament, as Vaati's watery fate looms, [1]+2-1-1 but MonkeyKong is helpless to halt his skid! He tumbles into the pond, much to the amusement of the Goldeen.

Boss Form Amadeus [1] finds a lovely chrysanthemum being visited by a gentle Buttefree- so pretty. Unfortunately, this means he isn't doing any racing, and he falls to zero Momentum.

Cleanup Phase

Zelda, Princess of Hyrule crosses the finish line in FIRST PLACE- glory and riches are hers, as well as a slot in the prestigious Star Cup!

Dry Bones slows to his Cruising Speed of FIVE Momentum!

Shy Guy goes for a last-gasp Item Box, [4]+2-1-1 and blunders into one somehow, [5]+2 receiving a Mushroom! A slim chance, but a chance nonetheless!

Vaati and then MonkeyKong are fished out of the drink by the nice folks at Lakitu Towing- on the plus side, the water washed away all that Ink! Brought back to the beginning of Green, they are tossed forward with THREE Momentum as they begin duking it out for pride, Points, and placement in future races!

Boss Form Amadeus catches up to Vaati and MonkeyKong, though he'd have to do some fast driving to beat them!

Because it just wouldn't be MKL without an Ink-related mishap. Gratz to Zelda- Shy Guy is gonna need a silly combination of luck and skill to pull this off. Specifically, Tiruin, let me know whether you use the Mushroom first (eliminating the Ink penalty but having less of a bonus for your pass attempt) or if you do something else first (suffering the Ink penalty but hopefully having more Momentum/Pass Bonus at hand when you use the zoom shroom.) You'd need to get really lucky to have the Momentum for a Pass attempt during the Movement phase, so choose wisely.
