Shy Guy flies onto Nugget Bridge, aiming to hit as many Dash Panels as he can! [6]

FOUR Momentum as he hurtles toward the Item Boxes with a

Zelda let out a laugh as Vaati was caught behind. And mooned by a monkey. Damn, this was going to be a good day.

Zelda follows Shy Guy's path onto Nugget Bridge, [3]
+1 and although she lacks the aggressive fire of the leader she catches enough Dash Panels to gain

-1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!
He drives aggressively, looking to hit the dash panels and item boxes, and pass that accursed Zelda!
Vaati snarls as the infernal princess pulls ahead of him.
"Let's see how long you can stay ahead when I, the Grand Wind Mage, am faster than you!"[6]
+1 Vaati duplicates Shy Guy's mad dash across Nugget Bridge, never slowing as he hits every Dash Panel and bursts ahead with

Amadeus
drives defensively, hoping to assure himself of an Item Box!
Slamming his horn a few times as Zelda cuts him off and forcing him behind the giant space ape, Db starts to DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY. At least the other monkeys rear was in his rear view.

+1 Dry Bones isn't about to let a mere human stand in his way! He expertly weaves amongst the Dash Panels, gaining
FOUR Momentum and a
-1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!
Well, MonkeyKong knew he now had little to loose by taking things too seriously, so could afford to have some more fun. He had no poop on hand to fling (and it probably wasn't that good an idea, after last time...), so resolved to DRIVE AGRESSIVLY, hoping to find some dash panels or get an item box, if the others didnt get them all first.
With ground to make up and Dash Panels before him, MonkeyKong resolves to bridge the gap! [1]
+1 Unfortunately, his path is less than ideal- after that slow start, Monkey Kong is gonna have to drive hard to catch up now, a feat that won't be any easier with his
-1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

HE SUCCEEDS, but must now navigate the forest in Purple to maintain the lead! [4]
+1-1 He expertly weaves through the trees, completely Pulling Ahead and losing

Zelda is helpless to close the gap as Shy Guy zips ahead- her Momentum is too low! She'll have a devil of a time holding her position against Vaati!

+2 Although Zelda maneuvers expertly to block his progress, Vaati's Dash Panel-induced speed is too much to overcome- he passes her on the outside, taking
Second Place and losing
ONE Momentum!
Boss Form Amadeus is driving defensively, hoping to stave off the racers behind him!
Dry Bones is racing up behind Amadeus, and attempts to pass! [6]

+1+1 It is simply no contest, as Dry Bones easily takes Fourth Place and loses
ONE Momentum! He attempts to overtake Princess Zelda, [1]

+2 but again the beautiful Hyrulian displays superb racing instincts, cutting Dry Bones off once more!
MonkeyKong has no Momentum relative to the other Drivers, and risks Falling Back! [5] He manages to keep the rest of the pack in sight as he putters down the course, but if he doesn't get some Momentum soon he'll be in dire straits!
Cleanup PhaseShy Guy blitzes through the Item Boxes at the end of Nugget Bridge, [3]
+1-1 and in his haste fails to hit a single one! [2]
-1 He fares no better with the Item Boxes in
PURPLE- the outer path in
GREEN has plenty, but the risky inner path could fuel another charge! Decisions, decisions...
Vaati comes up on the Item Boxes in
RED, [2]
+1-1 and also fails to hit any as he whizzes on by!
Zelda [6]
+1-1 expertly drifts into an Item Box as she enters Route 25- [3]
+2+1 she begins dragging a
Bob-omb behind her Kart!
Dry Bones aims for an Item Box, [5]
+1-1-1 taking one of the scattered goodies with no problem! [3]
+3+1 He scoops up a
Mushroom as he slides onto Route 25!
Boss Form Amadeus veers toward one of the few remaining Item Boxes, [6]
+1+1-2 and his caution allows him to easily take one! [2]
+4+1 He also picks up a
Mushroom!
MonkeyKong [6]
+1-1-3 is quite disappointed to see that there are no Item Boxes remaining for him to take into the next segment! Maybe he'll get lucky with one of the boxes beneath the trees.

Tiruin is out to an early lead, entering

Pikachu is seen watching the race with Ash, his trainer and his racing mentor. He is currently following monkeykong, as they have the same module and hiccups. Ash says that Pikachu will be able to know what works best and what works the worst. So far Pikachu had learned not to moon the other drivers. This would be an interesting race to be sure.
