Lars bows his head.  "And a blessed day to you... have we met?  I do not recall your face, yet you know me."

"Cthunkan, Brother Lars. I am a synthesis of individuals realized through an alien sorcery known as the Friable Wish. Among the recruited forms were Chief Dawa Maal Leeyes, who I represent most effectively and who you may have met on the rescue mission from the spore world, as well as Thaddeus, whose memories I retain," Cthunkan explains as his massive industrial-suited body floats alongside Lars.

"It is difficult to say whether I know you exactly, given that I am a novel combination of people you have encountered, but I do definitely remember you at least. Suffice to say that my adaptation to this new life has been highly interesting."

"I must admit, however, I am rather curious about the last mission you went on. When I was splintered, I considered going on it, but ultimately alternate paths needed to be taken. Did I miss anything of note, Brother?"

[Toaster]

With barely a pause, Brother Lars nodded.  "Ah.  Well, it is good to meet you as you are.  The gods work in ways we cannot fathom, and we must be prepared for what is to come.  But yes, the last mission.  It turns out it was essentially a trap.  The source of the death was some form of auto manipulator, and there was a foe waiting for us which I am told was an Arbiter of Peace.  It was only by the blessing of Steve that we were able to survive."

"That does sound awful, blessing of Steve aside. Arbiters of Peace were very unpleasant things to be sure. Did anyone fail to return from the grave?"

[Toaster]

"Brother Tek nobly sacrificed himself to ensure the safe escape of the team.  May Steve's light guide him in his ascension to the next realm."

"A single permanent casualty's not all that bad. Though... hm, Tek? I vaguely recall someone like that. Oh well. Will he get a statue for his sacrifice?"
