Dester leans over to a nearby person, and whispers,"What's this cat person's name?"And reaches down absent-mindedly while doing so to scratch behind her ears. "This is the happiest moment I've had all day, and I spent a part of today airborne, so that's saying something. May I sratch you behind the ear? Oh, I hope you don't mind, I already started. Oh, are we doing anything with Xan? Or not yet? Asking mostly so that I know if we can take the result on missions.

Kai sat thinking about the mission briefings. The black ops one, he did not have much information on and was "on the darker side of morally grey". He did not like the sound of that.

The planet investigation sounded dangerous. Really, really dangerous. Especially as no one knew what the heck happened there.

The Anomaly investigation also sounded dangerous. Perhaps more dangerous than the planet investigation. However, there the chance of something waiting in ambush seemed lower. Plus, science would be advanced. The choice was obvious.

Volunteer for the Anomaly mission as preference, and planet investigation second.

Anita approaches the man who appears to be in charge of the Joker mission (I.E. Milno). She speaks slowly, as to avoid random cursing. "I'd like to go on the Joker mission, if you'll have me, sir. I am relatively trained with conventional weapons, and Auxiliary systems. I've also been told I can be quite charismatic if I try, which I understand may be useful for the mission." She finishes with a salute.

Ah, that is wounding, General, I sincerely hope you did not mean that as my anomalous sand; if I do not brag about discipline and competence required of people under my command, it does not mean I am not going to enforce those: speak softly and carry a sharp knife, you know. Yet, if you must know, I have a feeling that both our missions might end in a bloodbath; both at the same time. I wouldn't bet tokens on that, but I wanted you to know. ...I really hope this is a false premonition.

Also, I hope you did not mean that about 'anomalous sand' as an insult. I really do. Mostly because we have used to see each other eye to eye before - and because you are safe and untouchable due to your rank and your Avatar of War. Insulting a person from such an unassailable position can be seen as less than manly, and I cannot bring myself to think that way of General Miyamoto I know.

Regardless, I am already running the preparation and planning of medics assignment and supply distribution for the missions. So far, it appears that medics might be scarce, that with Black Ops use of their skills; if it comes to that, I think you should employ the few remaining fleshtechs in the combat mission, and I shall try to run the exploration mission just by myself. I hope it won't come to that.
I also have a small new project regarding the medical organisation; I'll send you the details soon.

"Dr. Sanctor. Do you have any preliminary information about the anomaly? Such as boundaries and 'Point of no return'? If people have already studied it surely they have found something?"

Well, as you see, the anomaly begins where the perceived road ends - but other than that, there is no data. The whole phenomenon is largely a rumor for the inhabitants of Noblis, and I believe that no serious research effort has been directed at it yet; and the fate of amateur investigators I have already stated. Maurice smiled innocently.


I shall let Sir Milno take his pick before assembling this mission team.
I just hope you won't take all of ARM medics with you. He nodded to Milno.

Not to worry, it was just a small joke at your expense. If I truly thought your mission was a waste of resources and manpower, I would be frank about it. And if it scares off the less determined troopers, all the better, we won't have use for them if this thing is gonna be as tough as it sounds.
