Remember how when I fire the more powerful modes of the rainbow cannon like blue lightning or red plasma I drain the suit's reserves and have to wait for it to restart? I want something like a secondary battery or capacitor or generator that would let me walk around after firing the red plasma or let me fire blue lightning while retaining mobility for about a minute.

If that can't be done, then look for something I could use to protect others. Some sort of shield, maybe? Maybe some sort of flaming shield or shield with circular saws so that it can keep the haebi away from my more squishy teammates. Got any suggestions about what would help keep others safe?

Also, get a drum of booze. I know I can't use it to start a fire due to low atmosphere, but I might be able to get the planet drunk.

After getting a shower, Milno heads straight to the hangar to check whether his locker and equipment are fine, his hair still wet and wearing the HMRC-standard gray shirts and shorts. He's tempted to wear the MkIII for old times' sake and also to be better protected against the usual shenanigans that happen on ship - the mess he saw in the barracks and the teeth marks on part of the ceiling meaning more of those happened while was away. He sits cross-legged and stares at his black suit of armor, quietly going over the missions he's gone through; the mistakes made, the short-lived victories and the remarkable amount of failures and death. It's amazing in a way how stupidity is always found in large supply in the inmates, and how he has survived long enough to make past the ten missions mark that would net him death in the older times.

And yet, missions are still ruined. His break is necessary to try and get Joker's members trained in the basics instead of relying on getting them to learn on the field. He also has other matters to take care of - mastering his current tools, mostly. He's standing up from a small mental planning session of how he should proceed to get shit done when Thaddeus pops up. Milno stares at Rookie for a while before giving him eight tokens. If it wasn't for how useful the sharkmist infesting his body and the mechanist gauntlet are, he'd probably have sworn off xeno shit himself by now. "Sure, here it is. Remember: no untested alien shit during missions." he says.

"I get that you're worried about your actions killing innocents. But you realize that if we don't do anything, the UWM and their regime will just get those people killed anyway. I'm sure you realize that even if the UWM didn't exist, even if we didn't exist, those people would die anyway, right? Everyone dies, old man. Sometimes the good and the innocent must perish so that the rest of us may survive."

Pan puts on his military hat and puts a cigar between his teeth.

"Then you get in your goddamned tin can, rain down on that planet like the steel wrath of ARM and wreck the Haebi so hard it won't know wether to shit or go blind. Then you jank out it's fucking brain and get back here in one piece. That's an order, trooper, straight from the De Bergerac Commissariat. Am I making myself clear?"

Flint looks a bit surprised by the appearance of a hat and cigar from out of nowhere.
Some sort of invisible bag, no doubt.
"Yeah, yeah." Flint said, waving him away. "Just make sure not to get too much hot air in your braincase through that stick Miyamoto shoved up your ass." Flint said while smiling, clearly teasing him jokingly. "Might start floating around without using your amps."

Brother Lars makes a quick trip to the hangar to purchase the Shard Launcher from General Miyamoto.  Hefting its considerable weight, he sticks it in his locker before pulling out his suit.  He meets Maurice in the hallway and trades the suit for a replacement set of tokens.  "Brother Maurice, you shall be greatly protected in this suit.  I have marked it with the Symbol of Algis, so his shielding hands shall bless you as well."

Lars says a quick prayer for Maurice and his suit before he heads to the briefing room.


Briefing Room!  Also inscribe the Arrow of Ingram on the Shard Launcher for good measure.

Pan smiles, as wide as he can

Hey,
Is it possible to get prototype armor of some kind from team fund or tokens to buy Mk II? I got my weapons sorted out, but going to unfamiliar and dangerous ground without protection feels little unpleasant.

Read through all mission reports so I know who is dangerous and who's not, including reports from other HMRC/ARM ships and ones from Sword teams before so called mission 1, if such things are available.

Put the new MkIII suit on. Copy over the Medical monitoring tool to the new suit.
Open the SPOOKY GARROW container; inspect the contents.

I have asked Steve on the matter, and it appears that there is little practical long-term gain for much disaster potential.
Specifically: the planet will invariably know of the teams presence whether they cut the ground or not; unless they go all overboard burning with lasers, any knife would suffice to cut the flesh without much difference in the speed of angering the planet (the mere presence is angering enough); it is not impossible but much more difficult to spot the nerves without cutting the ground; and unless there is specific need to dissect it very carefully (in which case a Medical specialist is suggested), anyone can do the simple cutting without any difficulty.

All in all, it appears that using the knife is unadvised.
