((Yes, yes you can.  We're always open to new members! Annoying ninjas, I typed up a whole post and you'd already showed him what to fix...

However, there's still a few... inefficiencies in your sheet.  If they're intentionally there for RP purposes or something, that's fine, but I suggest you change them.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Additionally, you may want to read the wiki's New Player Guide, if you haven't already.  I'm kind've surprised Radio didn't pull out that link himself...))

Psst, 1,2,3 and 4 points in a stat all equal +0
Chuck 2 of them there charisma points into will and endurance, trust me youll want them. :P

Also welcome aboard the Paracelsus Sword, please enjoy your goo covered nudity and complimentary tokens while we make plans to accidentally maim you.

'Accidentally' maim you.
It is a legitimate and near inevitable variable that simply must be accounted for.

Edit:Well shit, apparently less than 3 in a stat is actually a -1 pebalty.

You get 20 points to put in at the start and 5 for every successful mission. Every 5 points in any skill is a extra 1/3 chance of a +1, so every 15 points you get a +1 in related rolls. Having less then 3 in a stat means -1 on rolls

You're thinking skills.

Yeah, the 1 in strength and 1 in charisma is in fact for RP reasons, since he's more of a thinker, but also a bit of an asshole.

"Okay then. I'll try shooting away from the ship and away from the planet. Thanks Steve."

Get in my battlesuit, check for any sort of option that could allow me to attach myself to the hull of the ship. If none is found, simply grab some of my rope.

Go outside. Inspect the hull. Find a good place I could latch on and fire some test shots. The Sword should be between me and Kano so that there's less chances of me hitting it.

Latch onto the hull like a giant metal space barnacle Use rope if necessary.. Prepare to fire into space. Switch Rainbow Cannon to Violet Mode and inspect the symbol displayed on hud.

Would you mind if I also talked to Steve during these tests?

((6+2: You shoot your red plasma beam into space for so long, you manage to overload all of your electronics. A few hours of helpless floating later, the plasma beam completes an orbit and comes back to incinerate you the moment you manage to get your battlesuit open.))

And of course that gets a +2.

So whatcha think? Maybe wanna take some precautions? Perhaps not sign your own death warrant next time?

I think that 5 is good. The standard. I see the next one already started, so I will look for Doc.

Renen says this to Steve, waits for his response, accepts any tokens and goes looking for Doc.

Hey, Doc. Is it possible to make these alterations you made in my body on a synthflesh body? And is there any more training to be had? Where is Bruce, the guy that was my partner?

If there is no training, check the options on the VR.

Yeah, 5 is fine.

"Possible, but not sure why it would be necessary.  And what sort of training do you need?"

>They no doubt will. And no doubt many of our allied planets will be Wiped out. But by the time it comes to that, we should be able to begin attacking the major worlds of the UWM, crippling it's command structure and rendering those superweapons they've scattered across the galaxy directionless. I suppose you could say our allies are more decoys then anything; but we should probably keep that information to ourselves.

Talking. With the brain up in space, the corruptor of souls.

"Hmm. Using your allies as a buffer so you can get to your enemy's command structure.
Gotta say, it makes sense from a strategical viewpoint. From a moral standpoint though, it's absolutely repulsive.

You are right, however, that we should keep this quiet, at least for now. I don't know how some of the others would respond to this news, but we need all of them if we want to see this through.

And as much as I despise the idea of using whole worlds as martyrs for our cause, problem is, I don't know if I see an alternative myself. Unless we can somehow destabilise them enough internally, there's no real going up toe to toe with that juggernaut.

Have you considered other means of destabilizing them, such as crashing the stock market or another way of crippling their economy? Economical malcontents are often a good catalyst for revolutions. Or what about assassinating a few of their figureheads? Maybe try and increase nationalistic or other ideological tensions? After all, the more divided they are, the more it benefits us.

>Think of it as a vaccine. We are exposing them to a lesser hardship to prevent a greater one. The endgame simulations of the current UWM controlled state of affairs are quite grim.

>Such things are possible in some cases. In fact, it's already being done in a few places to turn the tides for our side, but the fortress worlds of the UWM, the places where the real power has entrenched itself over the centuries, have such total control of the government that you really can't destabilize them with anything short of world wide catastrophe. They basically puppet the economics, politics, entertainment, everything, for their own gain.

Nope, I have 10 tokens. You're forgetting my 3 from the noob fund.

I decline for sanity based reasons. If someone started to tinker  mid-mission I'm afraid it would cause every enemy in the area to suddenly, and inexplicably, realize where that player is, and that that player bares an uncanny resemblance to the man who killed their father, raped their mother, and set their dog on fire.

((Oh dear.))

Good thing my action was prepare to fire, then, instead of fire.
Can we assume the previous turn was a handiwork dynamic bonus?.

Hmmm.... What to do. Oh, I got it.

If I don't have a handiwork bonus, get one.

If I have a handiwork bonus:
Switch the Rainbow Cannon to No Colour mode so that it can't accidentally fire.

Ask Steve for where would be the best position to shoot towards. Aim towards that location and then lock the battlesuit limbs in place, making sure I'm as securely attached to the Sword as possible. Tie some rope/duct tape around Gilgamesh if it will improve my traction and connection with the ship.

Then tie a rope around my MK2 and tie the other part somewhere inside Gilgamesh's cockpit so I can't float away.

Go outside the battlesuit, switch the Rainbow Cannon to No Colour mode so that it can't fire accidentally and tie a rope around the trigger. Put the other end somewhere safe inside the cockpit where they'll be no danger of it being accidentally pulled. Make sure the rope connected to the firing trigger remains slack at all times so that it can't be pulled accidentally. Make sure it can't get tangled or caught anywhere.

Then, if all went well, switch it to Violet Mode and get inside the battlesuit. Observe the symbol in the hud.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FIRE.

"Hmm. Could you, perhaps, show me some of these simulations? Or at least give me a quick rundown of major 'events'?

Secondly, while I know it might just be that eternal paranoia again... How do we know what you're telling is the whole truth? How do we know you won't, say, put everybody into stasis once this is over and rule the universe as the only conscious being? Just a stupid example, but you know what I mean.
It's not like I'll be switching sides anytime soon, else I wouldn't have just conquered a damn planet. But still. You expect us to trust you on nothing more than a vague promise. Do you have any way, at all, to prove that what you're saying is the truth? That your actual end goal won't screw us, or the rest of humanity, twice over?

And on that note, we still have these shock implants here. All this doesn't seem to match up, in a way.

I'm not saying to take them away from everybody, lord knows some of the newer recruits tend to be... unstable. Still, I think you should at least give the veterans, the ones who have earned your trust, the chance to have them removed.

I know they can be handy in case of mind control, but I think they should get the choice, at least. And in my case, I don't think shocking me would really do that much good, now would it?"

I would like to learn a little about tracking thecniques to search for Shadow hunters and a way to fight aginst amp users. Do you have any tips about that?

And answer me, did you take part in the creation of the Shadow Walkers too?

Ask Doc, after his response, ask Steve.

Hey Steve, you didn't pass me the list of UWM most powerful military units, Soldier-types, such as amp especialists, arbiters and shadow walkers... I remember asking that right before the ship exploded. Could you pass me them now?

Correct. You, as a new player, spawn out of a stasis pod in the barracks, naked, covered in goo and possibly with brain damage. Standard friday night around here, honestly.

So whatcha wanna do now? You've got 5 tokens and a good chuck of time to kill before the next missions.

((Oh dear.))

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FIRE.

So... Lock the suit in place and then use a rope to pull the trigger for the cannon from inside the sealed cockpit?

The cockpit being closed might make it hard to pull that rope. You could, You know, just unlock that one finger.
