"No, no, I mean something even bigger than the ones you have here! The biggest one you got! I'm trying to impress a special lady..."
"Oh, and are you sure you don't know anything about them? Wondering if I could find some sort of less-than-lethal weapon here. I don't like killing people."
Ask Nyars if he has anything larger than large or anything he knows to be non-lethal. If not, look for the largest large I can find. Preferably something in hexagon with a horizontal line. How large is it? Something so large it would require an exosuit or battlesuit to use?
Flint is one of those guys who believes that size does matter.
Also, could I connect the generators from the HEP or the Gauss Cannon (perhaps with some modifications) to my Industrial Mining Laser's battery and have them recharge it?
Could I add extra generators to the HEP to make it fire faster or with more power or range?
((Trying to decide if I should go Nyars or if I should just stick to a tried and true HEP or Gauss Cannon.))
The biggest he has is a red hexagon with no line. It's as big as a man is tall.
I'm pretty sure I said before that you can't fuck around with HEPS. Gauss cannon though, sure.
Dynamic AUX bonus: +/-2
((Ahh, how does "Go to briefing room, talk to whoever" get turned into "Go to infirmary, talk to Simus"? Can we retcon it so that I went to the briefing room, like my action said to do?))
If so: Saint notices Jim, and walks up to him smiling. "Ah, Steve, I see you got your body repaired! Interesting choice with the extra arms. Do you mind if I ask why you prefer to have a physical form present for these things? I would think a few simple cameras and speakers would suffice."
((Yes, Serious, Saint's mistaking Jim for Steve IC. Steve's the only synthflesh person Saint's seen, and he jumped to conclusions.))
Talk to Jim. While doing so, use my AUX charge to write a program that passively records all movements made by the exoskeleton and preps them for future examination and copying. I.E. if I run, I'll get the commands to make the exoskeleton run.
Sure.
I'll just give you that roll, since your aux charge is enough that its basically gonna happen regardless.
Hm... maybe information and education is overrated. There's no explosions! Fortunately, we can fix that.
Instead, activate that Wayback Machine. Pick a random HMRC mission that I haven't been on. My equipment shall be what I currently have, plus a Single Seat Rocket Bike.
I was gonna throw you in mission 3 but, that will basically make your rocket bike worthless. Still wanna do it?
Heat up the knife.

The video panels display the phrase "DISARM!"

The man charging towards you detonates in a massive fireball.
The program gives you half points. -150 now.
Next, what looks like a big old tank materializes and points its main gun at you.
The video screen flashes "DEFEAT".
You hope thats a command not a prediction.
Look up the specs for armoured tanks and rolling bunkers. List from easiest and cheapest to construct, to hard and expensive.
Well, there's actually an Armored APC sitting in the hanger right now. I think it's...Tavik's. But he might be willing to do stuff with it.
Anyways, the cheapest tank you're gonna get is basically gonna be an armored mortar on treads about the size of a normal car. Hardest and most expensive one...well remember that tank simus posted a while back? The one that was basically the nasa crawler with a big fuck off cannon? There you go.
Rolling bunkers go from what amounts to the pope-mobile to Titans with swimming pools and dance halls in them.
I'm assuming you're probably gonna wanna go cheap because these things are pretty damn situational and most of the situations we're in don't involve large open areas, rather small, alien filled areas where running quickly supersedes being armored.
Look up the schematics for a wrist mounted grappling hook.
It's basically a small gauss rifle attached to your wrist that fires the hook with some cord attached to it rather then bullets. You can adjust the force to fire farther or closer.
"Hmm."
Jobasio, wise fellow that he is, decides against harassing these displaced persons now and heads instead to the computers in the Rec room.
>Space-Google myself!
>Then Space-Google the ancestral Hootzal manor, or whatever it used to look like!
The most interesting thing is you find out there's a pornstar who uses your last name and he does his "Acting" in an owl mask.
Well. Thats a thing.
Your ancestral manor has long since been sold to a private corporation and turned into a luxury hotel. It looks like...about 500 dollars a night, so clearly quite swanky. Probably marble floors, red paint with gold trim and molding and maybe even a big freaking spiral staircase.

As Jim conversed with the rest-the latter of which being somehow a haze in Feyri's memory-the mercenary moved over to Grate and clasped his shoulder with her hand, analyzing if that was really Grate...the texture or feel of his shoulder, anyway.
"I'd like the truth, mister. What happened before? Why the numerous stories of you in absentia?"
It's grate. Or at least its got that same grate taste.
Now I just imagine Feyri licking grate and then just sitting there, smacking her lips with a face of complete concentration, trying to determine if this is still the same grate via the medium of taste.
I really wonder whether I've an English barrier or there's something else...
Because I did not state something such as that.
I don't like being interpreted as that.
But thanks for the answer anyway.
"I'd like the truth, mister. What happened before? Why the numerous stories of you in absentia?"
"Huh?"
"You lied to me."
Feyri tapped his shoulder with her finger and kneeled to look him at his level.
"Why?"
You didn't actually lick him. I was just saying what I imagined you doing because it was funny. Your actions are as dry and non-nonsensical as ever.
You can try it first but frankly all I do know is that it requires flesh to function, I highly doubt that is could cause any harm to you
To the briefing room for simus brief
You head to the briefing room for simus to yell at you about her new race of robot supersoldiers.
Simus looks around in the briefing room, looking for who all had decided to attend, and noting a lack of response from The Doctor to her last message, resends it more concise:
This message is to confirm an earlier one's receipt.
Go ahead and get him back together again, but I would like 1 request with it, if you would:
No cybernetics. He can regrow what he's lost, not take the quick way out.
((Just making sure I'm 100% on everyone who's here. With this being rather important, I'd like not to miss anyone if I'm wrong about who all is in the room.))
I'm not really sure whose here, frankly. Most people though. Not paris. Not Unholy.
After a few moments of silence as he ponders something, Milno moves his prosthetic arm forward slightly, clenching his fingers in a fist. "You know, during the last mission there weren't many problems, but are there effective ways to hide this or would I have to deal with it in a different way?" he questions the AM, opening his hand. Strange as it could be to normal people, he's already used to the piece of tech replacing the arm he had eaten as an armburger after it was turned into mincemeat.
"Guess it's about time I learn how to take care of myself out of the suit." Even out of his suit his reflexes do work better than before he was dragged off to the HMRC, at the very least.
Ask AM about the arm thing.
@piecewise question: Are Strength rolls during hand-to-hand combat replaced for Unconventional ones if someone learns how to fight properly with more than just brute force?
During the timeskip period, assume Milno talks to the AM and keeps trying to understand both sharkmist symbiosis and alien glove in his free time - like discovering what exactly he can use as fuel for bodily transformations and how much the glove is capable of changing. He also does it very carefully.
Other points of research:
1 - If the glove's simulated version of the rifle it absorbed can fire.
2 - If it needs ammo, if it still has the (partially-filled, 20/75) magazine that was within the gun, and if it can accept the fresh magazine I had bought. "Hey, Jim."
3 - If it can turn normal metal into ammo.
4 - If it has all the features the rifle had (burst fire, overcharge, etc).
After waving the AM good-bye, Milno arrives at the briefing room for the meeting or whatever was announced at the message sent to his wristpad. "Hey, Jim and Robo-lover." he says, nodding first to Jim then to Feyri.
"There are prosthetic that look normal. I assume they'll give you one if you need it." she says with a shrug "No reason to have a high tech arm replica out here, but there might be need for it later. "
((I suppose we could do that....I dunno. Never thought of it.))
@U_P: If you overheard the conversation, then you'd know two things: Simus did not kill or attempt to kill Auron, she put him under, and even had the Doctor there to ensure she didn't kill him. No murder or even intent to murder occurred, so you can drop that complaint. It's not a valid one. The second is that she asked the doc to regrow your old body instead of you getting 'rewarded' with robot parts. The Doc hasn't agreed to that yet, so it's up to him on that one and why he hasn't done either yet.
Finally, you're asking me to punish for intent, not what actually happened. This isn't Minority Report. Yes, she wanted to do bad things to Auron, but she didn't - even if only because they were unfeasible. Meanwhile, Auron's being punished for insubordination (that is, disobeying direct orders from the person in charge by building the tank in the first place when standing orders were to get approval before starting any projects), assault with a deadly weapon (whether you were shooting to kill or are actually telling the truth about shooting to maim, the fact remains that you took a deliberate action to shoot someone else and were looking to take them out of action, temporarily or not), and property damage - all things he actually did. Simus only put Auron under unnecessarily and slightly delayed his recovery process. Comparing the cases, her single offense isn't as bad as any of your three. But you're right. I'll drop the Tinker ban. She actually needs access to Tinker to plan for the defense, and keeping her from it would hurt all of us in the long run.
Long story short, if you didn't want to deal with all the consequences, you never should have taken the shot. I honestly wonder how you would have tried to spin things if Simus hadn't been able to dodge the shot.)
Definition of murder: The unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. (and yes Simus is still human despite her body)
Definition of killing: an act of causing death, especially deliberately.
Simus deliberately had the nurses remove her from her tank and carry her over to Aurons bed then disabled all of his life support and watched him die, her actions caused death and therefore consitute an act of murder. This fact is not altered just because she changed her mind afterwards and had the doc revive him.
"Long story short, if you didn't want to deal with all the consequences, you never should have taken the shot." Doesn't only apply to Auron, Simus could have gone straight for the coma but she instead chose to murder a helpless cripple and now she needs to face the music.
and no im not asking you to punish intent, im demanding you punish
attempt. if she had been stopped before the doc shot it down then yes it would have only been intent, but if you go to a hitman and they tell you that the method of killing you asked for is unfeasible it doesn't change the fact you just tried to hire a hitman.
Auron never acknowledged Simus authority over him extending past the survey and this was never corrected by Steve. even after the electrocution he only requested that Auron follow her orders, he never ordered it and he never stated that Auron was incorrect in assuming he was previously operating outside of Simus authority.
Auron can claim temporary insanity for the assault, Simus cant plead shit for murder.
and with the repairs Auron has offered to do the repairs personally with no assistance, this isn't exactly a new concept of atonement/punishment and is quite commonly employed.
you say Jim wants to avoid complications later on but punishing auron for ignoring the authority of those he was never instructed to respect, reflexively attacking someone who caused great pain to befall him and accidentally causing minor damages whilst allowing Simus to get away with premeditated murder, attempted personality removal and interference with his recovery without a single real punishment is gonna cause nothing but complications.
get healed already, i don't care if its organic, roboguts or a full conversion. just make it happen.
They put you back together with organic parts. You have a hell of a scar, but you can walk around again.
"no response, might as well wait around"
Engineer/pilot/cleaner available, will do work for tokens, something or barter for magic bangle (Grate has already expressed intrest)
send message wait in corner of briefing room,
Message sent, corner occupied.
( ║︿║) "Don't you think the shock part of the gauntlets are a little pointless since they're punching everything into a fine red mist anyway? It seems like kind of a waste of battery power..."
( ═~╩) "Hmmm... Nah, keep it. The shock function could be useful for targets the user wanted to incapacitate instead of killing, or in hypothetical grappling situations where throwing amp shockwaves around willy-nilly would be too dangerous. Might as well keep the functionality and not need it rather than needing it and not having it."
( ═_═) "We'll have to make our own shells, looks like. They are railgun ammunition, after all, so people haven't exactly been shooting them out of a lot of things that aren't railguns."
Since we don't have the shells, make them! If that's not feasible for whatever reason, use the most powerful non-reactive military grade explosive I can find (Whatever the UMW uses as space-C4), and put an impact fuse in the tip of the round.
-Investigate how practical it would be to just put a compact gauss gun on the back of the gauntlet instead, retaining the rotary ammunition feed.
What are the specs of the synthflesh full body prosthetic? I plan on tinkering with those soon, and don't want to make redundant changes.
Erin looks... uncertainly at May's proposal.
( ╣~╣) "I... don't know how to wrestle. So no thanks? Anyway, I'm gonna go hit the Infirmary now; I have some ideas, and there are some people I want to talk to and things I want to look at."
Whatever the results of the latest tests are, save and exit the VR, then head to the Infirmary, swinging by the Armory to request a notebook and something to write with on the way, if possible.
-Get that full checkup. I want to know just how long I've been out and how much they've tampered with me, and make sure all of my faculties are in full working order... and also that I'm not going loopy from stasis side-effects.
-Investigate! What sort of robotic surgery suite or regeneration tank are inmates soldiers of the glorious revolution dumped into to piece them back together when their charred remains are scraped off the surface of blasted alien hellholes with a spatula, here in the future?
Yeah...probably best to just stick gauss guns on your fist, to be honest. I foresee lots of arm exploding otherwise. And it will actually work.
Specs in what way? It can lift a car, it can survive in space, it can take bullet to the face and it doesn't afraid of anything.
You can probably just write on your wrist pad; to save time.
You're fine, physically, at least. Little stasis dementia, nothing to worry about. Standard brainstem implants, nothing special.
Well, that depends. We've got Medigel tanks for fleshies and chemical baths for synth-fleshies and a mechanic for the roboties,
"okay, we've got experience with guass rounds. We can do this"
"Ten tokens says you fuck up"
RUn sidewways the other way. Send out waves of pulses to knock down the guass rounds and maybe damage the cannons themselves, like the am explained I should have done with the bridge defence. If these waves do not damage the cannons, heat up standard 1 foot sphere on the cannons in between pulse waves
[Exo:2+2]
You manage to deflect the gauss shells just barely enough not to hit you, and to jerk the arms to the sides with pulses of physical force. It doesn't destroy them, but the simulation seems to accept it.
The openings in the walls all close and the room fills with a hellish hum. You start to feel rather hot.
