Miyamoto went from faceless no one to Avatar of war Pilot in like 3-4 missions.
((Isn't he still faceless?))

ALSO BOOT UP TINKER!

Pull up the schematics for a Fission Instigator, examine the payload and delivery mechanisms especially

((My current idea is to try and make the Fission Instigator live up to its name. Right now its basically just a nuke launcher. I want to make it into a "turn anything with an atomic structure into a potential mushroom cloud"))

Saint withdrew his hand as his face took on a more serious look.

"What should I call you then?  And I don't need anything in particular; I'm only looking around.  Although, I was a doctor's assistant before coming here, so I could help out if you need more manpower to deal with-"

Saint pauses for a moment as he watches a man drag a swearing man covered in food past him.

"...These people."

Converse with the Doc.

"Sure, I can deal with that. Must be quite the secret anyway." Milno answers.

Listen to the story.

"now that I think of it the only thing that would be at all useful to me right now would be an exo-suit strong enough to let me hold my mining laser could that be arranged? or even just a hover mounting..."
ask, stand by the wall of the briefing room absolutely motionless and focus entirely on any available radio or audio traffic I can pick up/hear make note of anything interesting and if any calls for help are heard forward them to steve.

((Nah, the Doctor Device was a hell of a lot more destructive than that. That's just complete fission (which actually takes energy for anything above iron, and considering most things that you could target with such a device (other than anything armor-plated) are made of elements lighter than iron, it's kinda pointless). The MD just broke molecular bonds, but it used the energy released from doing so to expand the field.))

((No, right now it launches a sun at the target.))
((Well I want it to do that using random scrap. Like teddy bears.

Basic idea- it takes random junk, compresses its atoms till they are fissionable and then uses the typical "bombard with neutrons and launch really really far away" method that my incomplete knowledge of modern nuclear warfare tells me is the current norm. Or whatever works best using ERs supatech.
Granted I have no doubt it would take absurd amounts of teddy bears to get enough fissionable material for this to work, but that's why you can pretty much throw anything in there. If you throw enough random crap in there you're bound to get enough mass for the good ol' mass to energy conversion.))

((Inciting fission is not enough. You could perhaps destabilize some heavier elements to get them to fall apart, and could try to cram enough of them together afterward to produce perhaps enough energy to light up a small household, but the energy expended versus energy produced coefficient won't look so good. Plus all you'd do is throw radiation everywhere.

Fusion, on the other hand... Hydrogen and other light fusionable elements are much more common. And unlike fission, you would get a whole lot of returned energy for what you put in - it's really the reason nobody tries making fission generators on iron fuel. Fission is better used when your material is already fissionable. Fusion can be used even when your material is not - you just need a whole lot of temperature and pressure. Like what I'm attempting for a new light missile warhead in the Survey team thread.))

((I know, but the possibility of--spoiler alert--blowing up a whole planet still seems to be there.
Of course, not having anything but BFEL's brief description of the intended effects, I can't say how likely it will be that something like this will actually be a concern.))

...it's really the reason nobody tries making fission generators on iron fuel.
((Doesn't fission of iron also take more energy than it releases?))
