[handi:6+1]
You weld the plate in place. You also weld the gas tank for the torch to the plate.
Why did you do that?
((I'm more curious on the how.
And yes, I know...overshots.))

Quote
Probably dual roll of handi and aux
((How about normal knitting? Just Handiwork?))

Quote
Hmm. What could an immortal child with a handiwork background do...

Maybe the doctor has some animals he needs to feed cages that need cleaning....

I dunno, can you think of something? Maybe helping in the Pit, with the salvage team.
The action was more seeing if there were other things Steve wanted done, but from your response I'm guessing not.
I'll consider feeding Doc's animals when I want to see a cagefight between Jim and Doc.
Anyways...Salvage team is the Survey thread, right?

Quote from: Grate -> Salvage Team
Do you guys need any help?

Yep.

and yep.

Attempt to un-weld the tank.

Find something that could remove the tank without making it explode.
((Is a 7 an improved overshot?))
As in a tool or a competent person?
Can I easily keep the plate in place with just one arm?  If so, charge a dynamic AUX bonus to mess with my wristpad.

@Smurf Yeah, numbers over six just get to be worse and worse overshots.  Or better and better, depending on your PoV.  If you had somehow gotten a ten, you would have welded yourself to the plate.  Despite the fact you aren't metal.
Yeah, you can do that. And ya do.

attach new plate, then find the next damaged one

((How many more plates are we gonna have to work on?))
Just one more.

I forget if you got a dynamic bonus...whatever, we'll say you did.

[handi:4-1+1]

You weld the plate in place. Easy peasy.

"Oh, don't be afraid, people. There's nothing to be afraid of now, really. Everything's over and pretty much all right. There was a bit of property damage, obviously, but beyond that and certain technical failures we're all quite safe. Anybody else need medical attention, or are you ready to be properly rescued and brought to more comfortable lodgings?"

If anybody does need medical attention, poke Mesk at them until they get better - if Mesk gets violent, overly esoteric or starts speaking Latin, pull him away.
No one needs medical attention beyond a few bandaids for cuts or abrasions and they seem very ready to not be here anymore.

Go help Auron.

On my way.
Head to the survey thread then, sir.

Help and encourage the civvies to where Steve directs.  Check in on the other two contact points.

You're probably gonna wanna have someone guide them back to the ship. Remember that you climbed an elevator shaft to get here; and two out of six people fell down said shaft on the way.

((@smurf: If you ever consider rebelling, don't do it in the coup d'état style. There's been a few attempts of that before, all of which have ended very badly. The Armory Master and Doctor appear to be way more powerful than anyone in ARM, (I don't know that for sure, but I feel more secure about saying that of the former's strength), then there's the crew, and the loyal ARMs, and even people who aren't super loyal would have issue with someone trying to interfere with their business. Plus, I believe Steve still has access to an electrical implant in your spinal chord that he can activate on will, resulting in everything from brief paralysis to instant death. The best option for resistance would probably be running away and finding another place on the planet with someone/something that can transport you to another planet, though the odds of this are negligible, at best.))

Get two jugs of water from the Armory Master, carry them back to the workers while discussing their plight with Steve.

"Steve, does the mechanical crew have to work in such cramped, hot spaces? I know that's their job, but can't we help them out a little, or are you to adamant on keeping your dreams of forced labor alive?"

((See, it wasn't perverted. You guys just thought that, in fact, you probably assumed that all the maintenance crew were men. Thus, you are the perverts. :3))
You get some water for the maintenance crew and complain to steve about their work conditions. Steve offers to let you do their work for them.

((Oh, right.  Um.  I doubt they'd be all that excited to be ferried down by MkIII suits one by one.))

"Brother Stacy, would you mind escorting these civilians back to the Sword?  You can get your damage repaired while you are there."

Send Stacy.  Help him scout out a path if required.  Ask Steve for status of next two contacts.

"Civilians! Follow me and sing the rescue song! What is the rescue song, you may ask? Well, I am not so sure. Anybody have any suggestions?"

Escort civilians to safety. If any of them have suggestions on what to sing, sing with them. Otherwise, come up with something else. Point at fun landmarks on the way.

((No, no, go loot the armory. I'd like to see the fireworks from a newbie who doesn't have any clue what's going on accidentally fighting either the biggest or the second-biggest badass on the ship. If you survive that, go annoy the Doctor.))

((AM has universal amp, it's not stated in the armory but PW said so. Also, you can use the universal manip to convert matter, Miya made a block of C4 out of dirt.))

((@Smurf: Miyamoto bought the namite thrower off of Pancaek, who designed it and has used it to melt a murderous robot once. Miya killed a bunch of sods with it, but currently loaned it to someone on the biohorror team. Also, it is great at overkill, it can melt sods away.
((Things to make/get/steal:
Universal amp or Microforge
Namite thrower or 'converted' sharkmist))
((Amps are things implanted into your brain to let you use space magic. I'd go for the universal manipulator; it's (slightly) easier to use out of the box.))

((Gyrojet guns don't need long barrels, so just make a gauss-assisted sawn-off. Hell, just take the Siblius hybrid and have someone make a shortened version. Once VR is back up, at least.

And really, if you think you'd be able to hold a Space Marine Bolt Pistol one-handed...

edit: I mean seriously, look at this thing:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I can easily see how the Gauss Rifle generator and mini capacitor bank can fit over the top, and a single acceleration chamber can be on the front, giving the gyrojet ammo feeding from below a sufficient kick to fly forward.))

((I believe a lot of the Imperial Guard use sized-down versions fit for human hands.

Seriously, a smith&wesson model 500 is like two kilograms. A .750 gyrojet would be pushing four or five, with the kind of reinforcement you'd need and with the weight of the bullets themselves. Sure, that's light enough to carry or lift one-handed, but go ahead and try aiming.))

((The reason most commissars use bolt pistols is for the fact that they are loud, powerful, and imposing. They have two main drawbacks, one being weight, the other ammunition.
