((Yep. Think lizardpeople. Psychopaths are just the more obvious ones IIRC.
It'll surprise no one that the majority of businesspeople are sociopaths.))

((So? It isn't his fault that he didn't have a decomp. He couldn't have purchased one if he wanted to. How would a psychopath controlled catastrophe be worse? You're arguing that killing specific people is worse than localized omnicide. Yes Xan is unsavory, yes, he is psychopathic, so what? Psychopathy does not mean insanity. Yes he doesn't care about teamkills, but he hasn't teamkilled anyone on purpose. Or at all from what I can remember. How is a directed blast worse for PR than what Grate is doing?))
((Er...I think Psychopathy usually equates pretty well to insanity. I'm pretty sure you're thinking of SOCIOpathy.
Sociopathy= you don't care
Psychopathy= you actively attempt to harm people.
At least that's my understanding anyway.))
((Incorrect. Psychopathy is not as the media or popular culture portrays it. It is simply a reduction or absence of emotions and by extension, empathy. Psychopathy IS sociopathy.))
((Well, Xan acts more like the media's psychopaths, just restrained.
Or maybe that's his other, suspiciously similar, characters leaking into my perception of him. I can't deny that that is a possibility.
Regardless, Xan would need to be on his best behavior, and given that it's Xan, and this is ER, an RtD...he'll blow that in an hour tops.))

((He does not. He simply needs to be a threat to people who aren't HMRC, something that is far easier for him than Grate due to his willpower and decomp.))

((It WILL however surprise people that one job sociopaths can excel at is the medical field. Not really the "friendly neighborhood checkup" guy but the "triage center" doctor. Sociopaths are well suited to that because they can logically determine who needs care the most.))

((Eh, I made him in a fit of generic piqué to be honest. He'll be going through character development in a bit.
And if I ever get to the point where I have +4 Will and a perfect Will decomp I'll always roll 5.
Always.))

((The problem isn't that he isn't a threat to non-HMRC, it's that he doesn't care about not being a threat to the HMRC and its image. Especially since he would be immune to all forms of punishment short of being killed by the AM, due to his shape-shifting abilities and the "If you knock me out it'll start a space-magic storm that wipes out the town" card.))

((There would obviously be detriments toward having the power like that anyhow. Bound to be.
And that's kinda what we have Milno's team for. Doing dirty work without being in the limelight.))

((A balanced character? You're a courageous man, GL.
I think you just have to post your starting action (you start by dropping out of a goo pod naked). PW should approve you, so you can go and get stuff moving.
Depends on whether or not you can get started with the current crisis. We'll see.
If you do manage to start: duck and cover for now.))

((Basically, a kid put a space magic thing in a machine that produces pills that endow the quality of whatever the pill was made of onto the eater. In effect, he became a manipulator overload, which apparently has been a beacon for eldritch things and now the resident physical goddess is dealing with it.))

((Oh god what have you all done.))

((To be honest, you'll have to be more specific.  Are you complaining about:

  • Genociding an alien species
  • Obliterating a planetoid?
  • Blowing up a dam and killing millions?
  • Solving a serial killer problem by running him out of people to kill?
  • Starting an alien war?
  • Assisting in the downfall of a colony?
  • Nearly getting an entire team killed on a strange planetoid?
  • Destroying a city?
  • Revolting against galactic government?
  • Seriously tampering against various laws of nature?

Because the HMRC has all that covered, and more.))
