In any case, I think I understand. Lyra will still mostly be herself in body and brain, just with a few additions... so she won't lose anything about herself she really cares about, while gaining a few things she might like. Am I close?)

(I'm not really okay with it, actually.. it's an awfully good payoff for blowing yourself up and wounding some of your buddies..  not the concept of the character, but getting paid for blowing self up.)

I mean, either that cash is coming out of her next paycheck which she would've gotten anyway, or someone else like Feyri is willingly fronting it for her. And about ten trillion people have gotten free upgrades from the Doc until PW decided to limit that, so... not really an issue there, either. )

((I don't mean to start any trouble, though, either IC or OOC.  The limit of this would be congratulating Lyra on her upgrade financed by blowing herself up.  Mild sarcasm, murder worthy!))
