Or some rocket rifles, maybe, so we can all shoot at bad people from a distance! Or a magnetic field manipulator! This world's made of metal mostly, right? And maybe some cutting torches for building and tearing things down, you know."

Deposit another gauss round into machine. Then rip out a bit of my hair and put that in there as well. Await results with trepidation.

"Well, we're on the defense, so I'd suggest we pack defenses. Give everyone who doesn't have any a weapon, and then invest in stuff we could use for dealing with intruders."

I think most of us have a basic, if emergency, weapon.

"I think I got a wrench in my repair kit..."

buy 1 mobile drone platform and a gunner bot. assign platform to Skylar. Assign gunner bot to Grate. Also buy a extra laser battery for own laser rifle.

"Now, we should split into three teams, one with the platform, one with the gunner bot and my squad. Any suggestions for member allocation? Also, until someone else wants to Ill be the defence team leader."

Lars spreads his arms.  "I am sufficiently armored, with a MkII suit, extra body armor, and the Shielding Hands of Algis.  My weapon is simple, but should be sufficient if we aren't fighting any heavy targets.  It may be safe to assume we can get more ammo in the field."  He shrugs.  "I have no requests, though I do have 13 tokens on my person."

Um... for you... maybe a cutting torch? Good little tool for building cover and adjusting the walkways, as Stacy suggested, and it makes a decent improvised melee weapon. Better than a wrench, anyway. If you've still got a few tokens, you might just want to get that yourself though.

"Aren't we guards? What's the point of making three squads already when we don't even know anything about the layout of the exterior? There is, after all, quite a lot of us, as one can notice from the state of this room, and moving in large numbers on narrow catwalks, which are pretty much the only thing I've heard of pertaining to the outside of this robotic and insane future up to this point, is hardly a good idea, is it? Particularly when most of us have either projectile weapons or something similar!"

Sure, should help me be way more useful on this. ...Not to mention keeping me out of direct fire... purely so I can medic if necessary. Right? Right.

Oddly, I have to agree with Stacy, not much point in splitting into teams until we know some things about what we're guarding.

"For the cost of the drone platform, we could get 12 scout eyes. Sure they're weak and unarmed, but we'd get more eyes for our bucks. I don't know, can scout eyes operate semi-independently, say circling around the ship?"

Since when do we have kids aboard?, Gorat thinks, only just now registering Grate. "I don't know. Do you know what you're good at? You could take a few quick tests with the basic weapons in the VR and see which... suit you best."

They can, but I suspect that the drones can actually do similar. I don't know, I will be inquiring with the AM about them later. Probably when I inquire about what eyes Steve will be able to give us on the walkways, which may mean we don't need anything for scouting purposes, as Steve will be our eyes.

((I tried to focus on technical stuff. With no idea what I was doing at the time, and barely any more now. I'm glad I have what could be considered approval for my odd build.))
