You start to open the box but Nyars stops you and tells you to go away from him before you do it. You drag the box to a table in the mess hall and open it there. Inside the box is what looks like a solid, dully metallic cube. Huh.

Fix. Ask what/who he is working on.

You poke the top of the cube. The surface of the top of the cube deforms into a grid of smaller cubes with thin spaces between them, like the buttons of a keyboard. It looks like the grid is 8 by 8, or 64 buttons, like this:
