Tokens in hand, Jim goes back to get his scrap metal and dueling swords. This time he remakes them as standard longswords; if tokens are on the line, then they're going to have to be earned. And if this is going to be broadcast, it should be entertaining.

(I was kind of hoping for a bigger turn-out, but eight's good, really. We'd need sixteen to have even brackets beyond that, but anyway it works out that no one gets a 'free' round. Best of luck to the participants! ^^^ Once I finish making these slightly more lethal I think we - meaning Tir and I, the organizers - will be ready for the tourney to begin.)

Now, to save time, This is what I propose. You have a rather silly amount of metal so in return for, say, 30 lbs of it, we'll say that you worked and slaved and fucked up dozens of times before finally making not just two long swords, but also, lets say, 5 pairs of any other weapons you'd like (knives, axes, maces, etc) just to give your participants a bit of variety in choosing their weapons.

Does this sound reasonable to you?
