Wandering around the ship bit, Denzen asks Steve ((In the proxmity of Serious Concentrate.)), "Do ... Do you know where I can get a sword?"
>To your left. Giant robot. Right, that's exactly what I had in mind. First to clear the mess, then to get to work.
Action: Clear all the ARSC bits out. Scroll through available laser weaponry to look for one that's much more powerful than the standard laser rifle. Look for the largest that would mount with a generator suitable for sustained (not necessarily continuous) fire onto the turret, leaving space for a bit of plating to cover the gunner. Mount it to the platform, reworking the firing mechanism to be controlled from behind by someone not holding the weapon. The mount need not swivel 360, but at least a 60-90 degree arc is needed. Assess specs of the weapon.
((If it's not clear by now, I have a portable laser turret in mind.))
Now, there are a few options here. Cutting laser is a good standby, but you could also go with an anti-debris laser. They're rather odd things, very thick beams designed to make things molten and soft rather then just cut through em.
"Yeah... No shit... You got anything else that would help?"
Try the same thing again.
(just to let you know, in a real fight, you'll need to take a turn to do the med check and then that bonus applies for the next strike. You can still evade during that check, but not attack.)

You snap a kick up at the doctor's knee, but he raises his foot and blocks your blow with the sole of his shoe.
"Better. Now I'm going to start fighting back. Are you ready?"

Grins and releases him.
Thanks.
The smile fades quickly as I turn to leave, heading back to the armoury and asking the AM to install the GAP. Remove my Mk. 1 if need be, hand over the tokens and suit and wait patiently.
You hand over all your tokens and your suit. The armory master disappears into the back for several minutes while you rock back and forth on your heels, containing your excitement. She comes back with your design in real corporeal glory mounted on the shoulder of your suit.
"Like putting a fusion reactor in a canoe." she says as she hands the suit back.
(Oh. So that's what you meant.)
Reset the simulation. Same scenario, except with armament standard to the time of the Altered wars. Do the whole speech and battle plan bit again.
What is basic UWM grunt equipment, anyway?
Well, during the altered wars the very standard was a laser rifle or gauss rifle if you were lucky, but pretty much all the weapons you see on the armory list were used, mixed in with specialists or men who just happened to find them. In a group like yours you're gonna find pretty much all levels of conventional weapons and the first and second tier of exotic and uncon. So when you spawn those soldiers you probably want to dictate what they get.
((I have a motto suggestion for UT: "Imagination Is The Deadliest Weapon". Would fit UT's purpose better, considering that the tinkerers usually try to invent new implements rather than repair broken ones.))
"What's this? An invitation?"
Timmy stands up and lifts his arms in the air.
"Air Hockey King Jesus, I accept your challenge!"
Play air hockey with Mr. Chompers. Play to win.
((Mesk should learn Doc-Fu. He does have a +2 to med rolls, after all. Imagine the kind of medicine he could practice with those skills.))
The rather faded LED display on the table blinks the message
"Choose Sides." It looks like one side of the table has a blue surface and the other has red. Each side has a button marked "READY".
