Ivan, despite having a momentary identity crisis, yells to get someone's attention, but no one responds. Then the lights cut out and are replaced by red emergency lights. That can't be good.

Thomas waited for a moment then said "Don't answer the guy huh? Real funny. I'll ask her myself." He disconnects from the system and checks if his cigarette is more than a stump.

You pull of the VR helmet and flick away the stub of a cigarette while looking around. Everything looks really red. Maybe the VR machine is bad on your eyes? No...wait, the lights are red. Wonder whats going on.

((Damn you all. Though to be fair, what kind of AI accepts data from a quarantined zone and doesn't quarantine them on the ship somehow?


Also, when will I be healed? Next mission?))

You can already fire it continuously, just hold down the trigger. Remember it's ammo is measured in time, not shots, but people always just say "Shoot" so I always just deduct like 5 seconds. In high intensity, high diffusion "shotgun" mode though it eats through ammo like crazy.

((@Zako: I bet even the scanning would cause that, and you must be forgetting Steve may have found nothing wrong with the files before accepting them.
Edit: And maybe only the sounds themselves caused that. Remember, hidden meanings, codes and possible computer mindfuck.))

Milno watches as the armory master enters the maintenance room. He just hopes there is shit happening with the hidden crew and they are all being slaughtered the same way the convicts usually are, but they may manage to get it under control. At the same time, he knows hoping is useless.

Milno goes back to the armory and checks if he can get a laser rifle and pay for it himself and also checks for the rest of the weapons. If not, he looks for the rest of the group.

You roll back to the armory and look if there is some way to get in or pay for something on your own but can't find anything. You swear and roll back to the rec room, where everyone else seems to be.

The intercoms buzz for a moment and then a Calm female voice cuts in.

"Warning. Life support failure."

"Oh, shit" Jack Ivan puts up his helmet and looks around, heading toward the maintenance door.

Thomas' eyes open wide, and he stands shocked as he hears the eerily uttered warning.  He notices Milno beside him and asks"Hey Milno, this is a drill or something, right?"

Milno grins and giggles a bit.
"No, this is not a drill. Just prepare for the worst. I mean it. Get your suit on. Now."

Milno heads once again to the armory, snatches a Tesla Sabre and a Laser Rifle if he is able to and checks on any people without the spacesuits who may be sleeping or drooling over their feet, throwing them their suits. And helping them if necessary. Make sure to check their suits' sealing.

((I guess it will. I have my metallic arm outside, so I guess the armor can seal itself. Also, life support means we'll be lacking breathable air, I guess, but it is not like the ship has already been torn in half and there is suddenly the crushing pressure of space vacuum everywhere. I am actually glad to have stayed, this may turn out more interesting than the ground mission.))

((We know MkIIs can keep the helmet pressurized even when torn, so I don't think it'll be an issue in an MkIII. And as Caellath said, it's not like life support failure should mean horrible conditions, just not nice conditions. We think.))

((It means the cryo tanks are gonna need a cleaning-out.

Also, we on the mission are really not much more screwed than we would be anyway... There were no plans for sending in a second team if we failed. You guys get the armoury master on your side!))

Hearing the giggle,Thomas looks at Milno alarmed. "I hope he didn't just laugh at this. Yeah, he totally did. He's nuts.", he thinks as he whips on his suit. Then he follows Milno, grabbing a gauss cannon and a mark III as they pass the armory. He helps Milno with the others, laughing, as he draws parallels with dressing a child.  Then, he puts on the Mark III if there's time. Without anything distracting him from his own thoughts, he stops laughing as quickly as he had begun.

The calm voice of the female announcer cuts out in mid repeat of the warning and the intercoms screech with static. The entire ship seems to vibrate and the thinning air distorts for an instant. Your ears ring, your skin crawls, your eyes burn, and then...

The emergency lights click off and are replaced with the normal ones. A moment later the Armory master walks out of the Maintenance door with a relieved look on her face.

>Sorry about the brief technical difficulties, someone was dumb enough to send a corrupt data file from a Quarantine zone. The partitions I had in place worked but they did cut me off from the ship till I was finished fixing things. Now, if you excuse me, I have someone to yell at.
