Open the capsule, see what's inside! Examine the object I find.
((I guess I'll have to find somebody brave enough to die on the next mission and give up their gun. I just can't resist the temptation of mystery capsules.))
You crack open the capsule and see whats inside. The object inside is almost as big as the capsule itself, but coated in a clear layer of something plastic and brittle, already flaking off. It's a sphere, seemingly hard and heavy, swirling with blacks and yellows and oranges and dark greens, the colors slowly merging and melting as they flow, like the colors of a gas giant or dye in water.

Resume melee combat.

((this game is amazing))
(You know you didn't detonate that bomb right? Just threw it.)

(Ah, good, you survived my horrible attempt at psedopoetry.

>Close. I am Ambition.

Did all of the crew complete missions too or was it only you? Can we become part of the crew after the tenth mission? Do they remove the shock implant inside our brains after the last mission, and did they remove yours? Can we continue to get into missions after the tenth, without the implant?

And can you suggest me another book?

"Only me and the doctor as far as I know. You'll have to take that up with steve. For me, at least, they did. I'm sure they'd let you, if you want."

"And sure. What kind of book?"

Any about weaponry.

Take the book and start reading it.

((Is the Mystery Box labeling scheme consistent across sizes?  IE will a small and large capsule with the same label have similar items, say alien laserguns or so?))

Right, that's one.

Search the rest of the building for more workers.

HMR stands for Hazardous Materials Requisition, not Horrible Massive Ruination, though I can understand how one could get confused.

At best it's a pool of ink thats here for no reason; at worst it's a puddle of hateful alien death penises that want to murder-rape you into chunks.
So how are you today?

"Ahh, didn't know about the self-oxidising part. Cool. I suppose being easily modified is a good thing too.

Do you have any enhancements that can be added into a MKIII helmet to help with sensors and head protection? Stuff like auto-adjusting sacks of impact gel to provide a snug fit or anything else like that?"

"...I can't believe you fed me to the rest of the crew," Jim said bitterly.

>Actually I think the doctor used your bits for something. Not sure. After it goes in the freezer it's all just meat.

Detonate charge, then enter melee.

You enter the detonation code and activate the bomb. The world in front of you blooms bright with the birth of a transitory star. You have only an instant to admire it before the shockwave, puts 20 psi across your entire body and hurls you backwards, the world burning around you as the heat of the blast scours the battlefield. You land in a haze, thrown god knows how far, looking at a screen full of warning indications.

(Megaton charges will hit you with their full power even if you're a mile and a half away. )

Open both things.

You crack open both capsules. The large one contains something that looks strangely like a very shiny, metal breastplate. It's proportions are odd, but it looks like you could wear it. The second item is what looks like a glass container of some sort of cream. Someone has rather haphazardly stuck a label on it and written "PANACEA-ish" on it in black marker. Huh.

((Is the Mystery Box labeling scheme consistent across sizes?  IE will a small and large capsule with the same label have similar items, say alien laserguns or so?))

Right, that's one.

(Yeah, they're consistently labeled)

The stairs  end on this level so you head back down to the ground level and look around. Nothing.

Try to figure out what I may use the crystal ball for.

Hmm something about this thing makes you think that you need to get it out of that plastic coating to use it.

"Well, we have impact gel and you could use that to replace the kinda crappy padding in there right now."

Any about weaponry.

Take the book and start reading it.

"Any specific weaponry or just weapons in general?"

Run off to the barracks, cackling like mad. Once there, peel away the plastic coating. Then attempt to determine what the magic ball is used for again, preferably without blowing myself up.

Find some medical staff member.
"Hey, um, do you, do you mind if I, uh, help out when the wounded from, from the mission get back?"
