Hey steve, i feel somewhat undervalued and too poor to fund all my tinkering, could i get an extra token or two for being a competant surgeon and also going on a daring rescue mission to recover Jack from the evil clutches of his own highly electrified stupidity?))

attempt to get some tokens from steve, Head over to the armory while maurice arranges things and ask about how much my weapon hardpoint will cost, also ask about a heavy variant for use on a mining exosuit or mobility battlrsuit capable of being mounted on the underside of an arm or on an armature that allows it to fire over the shoulder and be retracted to sit flush with the back when not in use. (See seans auxiliary suit picture)
((Oh and if possible get the firing mode selector integrated into the regulator circuit then use the spare circuitry for another overcharger.))

After questioning AM on hardpoints pay her to build my heavy pulsed laser from the 3 gauss rifles and 2 of the laser rifles in my footlocker, keep all leftover materials.
((speaking of hardpoints, up to what STR requirement for weapons can mine accomodate and if i make another heavier reinforced version would that increase its psuedo-str score?))

-load my armored WWII flamethrower.
-install gauss coils along the legth of the barrel and the fuel cable.
-remove all valves.
-encase a generator powered plasma acummulation chamber in a case capable of attaching to the backpack frame. The accumulator is to have an enlarged containment field reminiscent of a fuel storage tank. This containment field is to be mechanically sustained not automanipulated.
-link the trigger to a switch that toggles between power going to the acummulator and power going to the gauss coils whils simultaneously disabling the part of the containment field blocking the path from the accumulator to the fuel line.
-pull virtual trigger

Also, damn you for mentioning buying an avatar of war. I had begun considering it, but decided against it because... Emotional attachment?
Basically, when I gave my battlesuit a name, it was to personalize it, to make it feel more unique. That worked out so well that I would now feel kinda 'guilty' for trading him in simply to gain more power. Although if I could sell it to another player, I think I'd be more ok with that, cause then he would at least still 'exist' withing the game. Not sure if anyone is even capable of buying him right now though.
I also would have to think of another name, but I really like the name 'Gilgamesh' for some reason. Another thing is the fact that an Avatar is good, very good at combat, but not so much at... everything else really. Though seeing how we'll probably be doing a lot more combat than before, that might balance itself out. And if I already had trouble going into corridors, well that's not gonna improve by buying an AoW huh? (By the way, how big is that thing? I believe it should be around 3 meters, right? Because this says 5-6 meters)
And the whole 'semi-permanently entombed in a casket of CFC's with the majority of their nervous system slaved to the suit's systems' rings kinda wrong to me, I always liked the idea of being able to move out of the suit and shake hands with someone or something. Hmm.

So basically, it means that the big argument pro is in terms of power/gameplay, while most arguments against are roleplaying in nature.

Anyone have an opinion on this? Cause I'm really at a loss here.))


Did some quick digging:

Look up Avatar of War variants. Also, check the space inside the cockpit of a battlesuit - what can its operator wear (i.e., is it so small and crammed that only skin-tight clothes can be worn, or is there enough space for a Mk-something suit, for example)?

Avatar and battle suit cockpits are fairly tight, not skin tight or anything but as tight as a fighter jet's cockpit or so. You wouldn't be able to get a MK III's rockets in there, for instance,but you could certainly wear a MK II or something. Although, in the case of the avatar you'd have to get it modified with ports to allow all those nerve ports.
As per Types of Avatars, that depends on what you're looking for when you mean "Type". See there are two ways an Avatar can vary, the first being it's body type and the second being it's equipment and armaments. We'll start with body type.
There's the standard humanoid, The brawler type, the Dexterity type, the endurance/platform type and the speed type.

1) check for how much Gilgamesh would sell with AM. Be sure to mention the built-in cameyes, and ask if those are also worth anything.
2) Ask if she could 'unlock' any info that might be locked regarding AoW's or their equipment in VR. Because I remember, for example, the details on the AoW's armor being classified.
3) Check the Avatar types, see in what regard (in terms of equipment or bonuses to rolls) they differ from standard AoW
4) see what kind of armament variables there are. Is there a variant that doesn't come with an amp, but with a manipulator instead? Or one without any amp but with something else instead?
5) can one actually get out of an AoW? If yes, can you do this in the field, or does it require any extensive procedures?
6) what would be the cost for something resembling rocket pack/jet pack for the AoW? Is there anything like standard option for that?
7 ) what does a standard avatar 'lose' in systems compared to a regular battlesuit? For example, it seems an AoW isn't protected from electrical damage, while a battlesuit is. Are there other things a battlesuit is 'better' at?
8 ) try to look up what the 'feedback' and 'contamination' that could happen with an AoW. And what's up with 'pilots disengaging control mechanisms purposefully in order to gain what is referred to as "the unbridled strength of the avatar's true form'? Is it true that an AoW is semi-sentient', and thus a being in and of its own? Ask Steve or AM if I can't find info on it.

Faith froze for a moment. She wasn't an assassin. She'd never intentionally killed anyone. In fact-

As you walk with the Messenger, he wipes some sweat from his brow and rolls up his sleeves. You're about to comment on the advantages of having a climate controlled suit when you notice something on his exposed arm. It's a tattoo on his forearm; a circle divided vertically through the center, with one half being white and the other being black. It looks...familiar.

"Former lives are unimportant." he says, though not before taking a cautionary look around. He leads you to the infirmary, and back into it's small pharmacy, though not before waiting for the nurse standing in the room to leave so that he could close the door without attracting suspicion. Before he says anything he carefully sifts through the bottles of pills till he finds a seemingly random one about halfway through a row of over the counter pain killers.

"We don't have much time." he says, his voice completely different now, rougher and older sounding. "In this bottle is a poison. A very special one. Fatal in less then a minute, breaks down into untraceable organic compounds shortly after."

He hands you the bottle.

"The Shining one is old. Over 250. Kept alive using anti-aging treatments; or divine power if you believe the palace. But he's frail, increasingly so. He hasn't been seen in public or years. When the palace falls- and it will fall- they're going to slip him away. There's an underground path. When he's being moved, he's going to need a doctor at his side to monitor his status. He of course has a private doctor, but in the chaos of the fall, that man is going to disappear. They will search for a new doctor and find it in a Yellow suited, synthflesh'd woman who just happens to be near by. On the way through the tunnel, as she is caring for him, he will begin suffering a heart attack and die."

He looks hard at you. "Are you with me so far?"

"Good. After that happens things are gonna get chaotic. That woman should do her best to slip away in the confusion, before they start pointing fingers. After all, it's important that someone-preferably a high ranking official who saw it happen- bring the message of the shining one's tragic but natural death to the rest of the government."

He looks around again for a moment.

"When the palace defenses look like they're falling, meet me at the gate to the second level. Everything you need will be waiting there."

"As in when the walls are breached. You'll know, believe me on that."

"Synthflesh is fairly common among some of the higher ups. Doctors and surgeons especially, for increased dexterity and fine movement. You'll actually fit in better this way. And as per why they've never seen you; well we'll just have to gamble on their more then likely condition of not knowing any of the help personally."

"If you can't slip away silently, then just run. They're all human, you can out pace them."

"Frankly this all seems a little complex to me as well, especially when you could just walk in and murder them all with your bare hands but...well, orders are orders eh?"


"Anything else before I bring you back?" he asks as he digs a phrase book and map out of his robes.

"The plan, as it is, is that our friends in the resistance recognize us and we cook marshmallows over the burning ruins before you head home. If that fails, which it could, then yeah, we bug out. By the way, try to get them to kill as few people as they can. You know, make my job easier. Oh, and stay away from the wall on the left side of the gate. "

"There's a lot of things in motion here. Lot of people. Things usually go well but...you know. Be ready to think on your feet."

[When the townsfolk began coming out in droves in response to their homes burning]

You reach the entrance stairway to the second level of the palace. The Messenger is standing there, waiting. He appears to be rather worried.

"I didn't expect it to happen this quickly." he says, grimacing down at the township. "We may have to improvise a bit..."

And then you both see whats happening down on the stairwell, courtesy of Stacy.

For a moment the messenger is completely silent.  Then he swallows, slowly, and looks back at you.

"We're Just going to kill him. Ok? Nothing fancy. Just go in there and break him in half. You can do that, right? With that body and all?"

He looks down at the mass of expanding entropy below and then back at you.

"Well, that thing is down there. Target is up there. Running away and going to kill him are in the same direction. That's basically my plan as it stands."

He looks back down then back at you.

"We've gotta make sure he dies though." he says, equal parts demanding as buoying his own confidence.  "We've gotta make sure he dies."

"You better just follow me." He says and runs up the stairs.

You follow him upstairs, up to the third level and into the palace proper. The palace is as opulent as you could possibly imagine. Everything is either gold leafed or at least covered in something thats a reasonable facsimile of it. There are tile mosaics, tall, painted ceilings, hanging curtains of extremely expensive looking material, a omnipresent smell of delicious food and flowery perfume. It looks like someone wanted very badly for this place to appear expensive and important and just went completely nuts with the concept.

Men in bright robes are dashing around, saving or perhaps stealing anything that looks valuable, carrying bags worth of coins and paper money, expensive knickknacks and silverware.  They pay you and the Messenger no mind.

"He should be somewhere up ahead." the messenger says, pulling something that looks like a oversized gauss pistol out of his robes. "We just have to head down this corridor, then up some stairs to his room. It will be guarded, But I think we can handle it." he squeezes the gun in his hand and then starts running, guiding you up a massive set of double stairs to the upper stories of the palace.

You sneak down a hallway until you finally stop at a corner. The messenger peeks around and then looks back at you.

"10 of them. 8 Normal guards, 2 royal guards. Normal shouldn't be too much of a problem, but the royal are augmented and armored. You think you can handle them?"

"Ceramic and steel wire mesh I think. Projectile resistant. They're trained for close quarters so I don't think they even have ranged weapons." He says, peeking out again and then pressing his back against the wall. "Listen, I can take the normal guards, or at least distract them. If I start shooting they'll come for us but those royal guard will stay there. They'll guard that damn door while the palace burns around them. Or freezes, in our case."

"So, I'll lure the normal ones here, we can take care of them and then hit the big ones. Sound good?"

The man nods, turns the corner, and opens fire. You can hear him fire several shots before he comes back around and runs several feet back. He motions for you to move with him.

"I'll get as many as I can as they come around the corner, but get ready for some Hand to hand." He says, dropping to one knee and taking aim already.

You plaster yourself against the wall and set your Berserk button to 5 seconds. The instant the guards turn the corner and the messenger opens fire, you press it.

And all the rage you have, all the frustrations and fear and anger held down by that emotion suppression system, comes back. And with it comes Erik, so full of wrath and joy at the same time. When the word comes, you're honestly not sure who is saying it, him or you.

HALLELUJAH!

The messenger manages to hit a couple of the men as they round the corner, little spurts of blood coming from their black uniforms. Your words are loud enough to rupture their eardrums; rupture them before they can even hear them. But some do still turn towards you. You step forward, draw your amp wielding hand back and then let loose a nice, easy punch. 

The men vanish. As does a 15 foot diameter circle of solid masonry directly in front of you. You wiped them out with a flick of your wrist, nothing left but some marble dust and a bit of red mist.

And then you're back. The messenger is sitting in the corner with blood dripping from his ears.

"WHAT?!"

He looks uninjured, save for the hopefully temporary deafness.

You round the corner. About 20 feet down a large hall is an equally large door. In front of that door, is a pair of men. Or at least you think they're men. They're 8 feet tall and coated head to toe in white, ceramic armor. They're holding a massive ceramic tower shield in one hand and what looks like an amp studded club in the other. They look...rather dangerous. Upon your stepping out into the hall they break their idle stance and take a more aggressive one, slowly approaching.

You hit the berserk button on your wrist, not even bothering to enter in a time this time. The feeling returns; easier this time. Not a great rush, just a feeling of settling into your own bones.

You push off the ground with one toe and you rocket across the room, leaving a crater of pulverized tile behind you. You go for the one on the right first. He puts up his shield, Ceramic plate shattering as your fist hits it. Even with the shield taking the brunt of the blow it still causes him to stumble back. You go for another hit when his partner comes for you, swinging his amp studded club at your head. You meet it with an amplified punch of your own. For an instant you see your fist and his club resting against each other. And then you're half embedded in a wall, deaf and dazed.Your amp wielding arm is partially shredded,white skin burst and milky blood and muscle showing beneath. The hall looks like a bomb went off in it, the outer walls are blown away and the ground and ceiling are partially caved in. One of the guards is in the corner of the room, dropping whats left of his shattered and twisted shield and coming at you with his club. The other is across the room; his arm missing and his club nowhere to be seen. He shifts his grip on his shield and charges you like a battering ram.

You tear yourself free from the wall, flipping up and clinging to the ceiling with your fingers and toes as the armless guard slams his shield into the wall. You drop down behind him, grabbing his neck in a headlock on the way down. You hit the ground, plant your feet and use the momentum of the man's fall and your own brute strength to drive his spine onto your knee. You don't quite get his head off; but you extend his neck by a good several inches.

The other guard comes in with his truncheon, swinging for you head. In one motion you duck under it and sweep his leg out of under him. He stumbles backwards and you swing hard, catching him in the side. The amplified punch sends him straight through the outer wall, tumbling down toward the gardens below. You're just about to leap after him when the automatic timer on your system kicks in.

You slump to the ground, suddenly feeling very tired and weak. Your entire body is bleeding and your muscles have burst through your skin in several places. You take a deep breath and force yourself back to your feet. The door stands before you; still intact.

You push the large set of double doors open and step inside. The room beyond the doors is more hospital room then throne room, it's decorations and lavishness hidden behind life support machines, freezers of blood bags, medication and more. There are several people in the room, doctors in white uniforms, clustered around a massive bed in the center of the room. They look up at you, startled.

You flip through the book for a few seconds before closing it and throwing it over your shoulder. You walk over to the bed and elbow your way through until you come face to face with the Shining one.

He's not very shiny, in fact he looks like nothing but a shriveled, barely living old man; a leathery, wrinkled mass peaking out between a heavy blanket and a overstuffed pillow. He looks at you with a cold sort of understanding.

"Finally come for me, I suppose?" He says, his voice a harsh whisper.

"One day he will tire of your existence as well," The old man says, "What will you do then?"

He smiles. "Then do your work, assassin."

Your punch kills the man, the bed and the tiling under it. The doctors around you don't even say anything, they just start running.

>Good. Now, head out to the Palace gardens. There's some unfinished business you punched through a wall out there.

You jog back out to the hallway and test the heft of the dead guard, plus shield. He's pretty damn heavy. You think you could give him a bit of a toss but unless you want to engage berserk again, it's not going anywhere but maybe a few feet in front of you.

1. Curious why I kept saying "Okay guys, keep in nonlethal, don't escalate it, come on guys we're all friends here?" No, it wasn't just Faith being uselessly soft again! It was because those were our new BFFs. And then Stacy killed them. Killed them all.
2. Well you see Lyra, sometimes Faith has to ruthlessly lie to you to protect you and everyone else from the truth. Technically "because they're all idiots" or similar was close to the truth, though!
3. These go back a lot further than I thought. Given the number of PMs PW probably gets, I don't think we're ever going to get the remainder. On the bright side, it doesn't particularly seem to need it; I had two more posts that I didn't bother to include because they weren't interesting and you could get the context anyway. I included a few notes, but even those weren't completely necessary.

Well, I remember it getting asked several times by different people who got a reasonable if incomplete listing.
   Morul (I think it was Morul) asked at some point for a stealth apparatus, and got a listing. After that he bought the cheapest one and tried to play a prank on Bishop, but was promptly spotted by him.
   And then multiple people, at the very least Faith, Milno, and several others asked for some form of listing that included Civic Defenders Longcoat and higher suits.

And it'd be a shame to make up new stuff every time somebody asks for it. And I am pretty sure that those listings are enough for my purposes. Maybe somebody (A player who is better at remembering where it was and using a search engine/show posts. I mean, you probably remember it better if it happened to your character.) could find that if you can't?

Due to recent accidents, her lower body is composed of synthetic and biomechanical joints, ligaments and other artificial prosthetic parts while her upper body - mainly the right shoulder until her lower abdomen - has a Lichtenberg figure in the shape of an upright coniferous tree.

While on the Paracelsus' Sword, she wears a light blue t-shirt along with a matching pair of baggy combats, along with every associated garment underneath.

Around her neck; both in her MK III suit and out, lies a simple gilded locket. Snakelike details weave around the oval, ending at a small clasp marking the opening of the pendant. See if I can exchange my kinetic amp for a Microwave Psychokinetic Amplifier, since they both cost the same and I have not used my kinetic amp. If I can do so, find out who can implant it into my head.
