Sorry about lack of posts, Gateway errors are beating me down even now.
Welp! Glue glitter and chess pieces all over box, but don't push any buttons. If it starts glowing, kick it away from you and run in the other direction.
[handi:4]
You slather glue on the sides of the box and then randomly affix chess pieces to it before dusting it with glitter. What a positively adorable...whatever it is.

Got it. Better luck this time.
"What do we have here? Blood sugar meter? Grenade with visible countdown?"
Check if there is some writing anywhere, or maybe a piece of paper in the capsule (yeah, right). Look if there are any ways to open the sphere, say for batteries. Do not open it though, and do not touch the button.
You don't see any paper in the capsule. The sphere seems to have a very thin seam going around it's center.
Have the spirit of Motherwell fire a barrage of missiles at Some xcom. Also have all mechs including my gundam stomp on xcom dudes apart from some as support. Then have 10000 beta appear 20km away.
((trying that again.))
You sort of wade out into the x-com members and start crushing your way through them. It all goes really well until about 300 of them start firing rocketlauchers at you. You've got a lot of thick armor but...well there are lots of rockets. Your gundam shudders under the barrage, legs failing, and crashes down face first into the crowd.
