I named one Alnisnil, "Warhammer", just because I could.

When the only ore on the map was tetrahedrite, and thus silver hammers were a major part of my arsenal, it turned out to be unnervingly prophetic.

If anyone doesn't get it I'm referring to the fact that randomly generated fort names always seem to have the word cloister or the word ink.  It happens to me so often I thought other people noticed it.  I still have no idea what the word cloister means and while I could look it up that would be too easy so I wasted everyone's time with this thread instead because I

You ...  what?  I seldom see either "cloister" or "ink" in my randomly generated fortress names.  A cloister is kind of an interior courtyard, but with fancier architecture.

I've seen the Fondled Waters show up as a worldgen ocean at least three times and from browing the forums it seems like it's not just me. I think the pool of words used for regions is a lot smaller than all available words. I also see cloister all the time. A lot of the cool evil-sounding words get pared from RNG fortress names due to various tags on dwarves that omit them.

I can't help but imagine GIR saying this while wearing a little fake beard and wielding a little pick.

And it is GLORIOUS.

But yeah, Riddlecrypts will always have a special place in my heart. My slowly, yet surely, blackening heart.

Pretty juvenile, but I had a string of forts with rather sexually perverse names.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

i have also seen a lot of cloisters and inks.  a cloister is an interior courtyard with a covered  walkway around it, usually in the center of a building.  they were a central part of medieval monasteries starting in the carolingian period, and cloister is often used as a reference to monasteries, or the catholic priesthood in general.
