Don't worry about that. It's actually pretty fun envisioning these in my head- I just want everyone to know that after this week things might get much slower as far as variety goes, and sadly, I think some of the noncritical mechanics will be cut- not field ones, those are working spectacularly...

On the chopping block right now is Pilot Specialties. I don't think these are going to include weapons anymore, rather, I'll have stuff like Escape, Dodge, and more defense or support oriented stuff. Mods are offensive, and those conflict.

On the upside, there may be some more weapon types on the horizon.

-Hail's Update-

((Feel free to add your own dialouge.))

The missiles rain down! The Arachnid's shield manages to hold off the Dragonbreath, but soon breaks from the force of the explosion. The other three missiles are dead on, exploding and pushing Arachnid back!

Arachnid's eyes glow red. It seems like it's generator is pouring out particles.

Arachnid dashes forward and opens fire! It's strange rifle fires 2 Metal shots!

The metal shots rip into Evening Mist's shields, causing them to crackle loudly!
A warning pops up, from Eve's system.
Shields at 40%. (20HP left, quck-regen it if you want. You can still move and fire.)

The arachnid's eyes stop glowing.

EVENT
The Arachnid's Pilot attempts to open a communication channel with your entire group!
The subject is blank.

ohmahgawd RAM I didn't see your pooost T.T

I'll get to work right nao!
I don't see a situation post for my battle. If there isn't one then that is fine! But if there is one and I am not seeing it then, well, if one is waiting for something that has already happened, then one may be waiting for a long time...

In fact...

I'm tossing around the idea of making people c+p the mechs pages of the ones they send out on the first post- it's the whole information not together thing. That's not mandatory right now, but it helps me a lot.

Anyway, I has a gift. adwarf, you've had to wait, so you'll see your mission is... different. It's half no two missions are the same and half a small "Sorry for not updating that post like I said I would."

RAM, you're getting free stuff something as soon as I can find a way that looks legit your map.

I lost a little bit of the battle log- it was just the fight. You got the important parts.

Your Skirmisher's blade cuts into the Drone twice!
It's damage is critical! Keep it up!
Your seekers release a twin volley of rifle fire, completely destroying the drone!
George Lennon has gained a point. Two more, and you can get an Ability.

The pilot has backed away from the combat slightly. He didn't fire this turn.

RAM, remember when you ninja'd me right there?
This is that ninja.

The big rectangular thing at the top is the Pirate ship.
All of those circles are Pirate Mechs:
HP200
Shield20
---
They have an unknown launcher
They have Anubis-I rifles
They have Rapier-X blades

The ship leaves in 10 turns.

Win Condition: Destroy the Ship (200 HP, no shield)
Win Condition B: If the Ship leaves, destroy remaining Pirates
Lose: All mechs die

The terrain: Light Grey: Concrete. No effects.
Green: Grass. It's natural.
Blue: Solar Panels. They don't really do anything, but they break if you shoot them.

---

Your units were really similar, so I did this:
The blue-yellow Ls are leviathans, F is Frank and U is Undie
The wings are Harpies, RC is the roman numerals and AB is Awkward Beige
Medusa is the other one.

Oh yeah, all your units are faster. There was a roll in there somewhere, but I'm just going with you are always faster.

Spoiler: Mechs (click to show/hide)

Sentinel I, II, and III focus ERMS-01 fire on Drone at I11.
~New Turn~
Skirmisher II attacks Drone at I11 with Fox Fang.
Skirmisher I attacks Drone at I9 with Fox Fang /or/ if I9 is destroyed and no longer a threat: spends 15 energy moving to G8 and attacking Pilot at G11 with Mantis-I.
IF drone at I9 is destroyed and no longer a threat: Seeker II spends 30 energy moving 6 squares to D7, Seeker I spends 30 energy moving 6 squares to E6. Seeker II and Seeker I then fire their Anubis-I on the pilot on G11. /or/
IF drone at I9 is still a threat, Seeker II and Seeker I fire their Anubis-I on the Drone at I9. Then Seeker II spends 30 energy moving 6 squares to D7, Seeker I spends 30 energy moving 6 squares to E6.

RC to K11: Fire ERMS-01 at FreeCthulhu(pirate ship). lose 35 energy, 3 ammo
AB to K8: Fire ERMS-01 at FreeCthulhu. lose 35 energy, 3 ammo
Medusa(which looks great) to M8: Fire ERMS-01 at F8. Lose 30 energy, 3 ammo
Lf to J9: Fire ERMS-01 at FreeCthulhu. lose 40 energy, 3 ammo
Lu to J10: Fire ERMS-01 at FreeCthulhu. lose 40 energy, 3 ammo

I am not currently aware of any movement restrictions other than energy usage. Sorry if this causes any issues.

None. You can potentially use all of your energy in one go- 100 is your capacity and you have a shield of 0? Feel free to move 20 spaces. However, that has to regenrate... and you lose your shield if you cant keep it going, etc.

I'm... not sure I'm going to want (or even be able) to keep up my own unit statuses until all the updated rules get consolidated into one post; everything's a bit of a confusing jumble at the moment.  :-\

I believe that the details are under the name, so it would be:
[Hijack Carrier]
[Grid:3:15:Medium:Great:Uncommon:Evil]
 or:
[Attack Rouge Agricultural Site]
[TeamVsWave:1:10:Easy:Little:Uncommon:Good]
And I think it should probably be spelled rogue...

Otherwise, I got the impression that multiple people can perform the same mission...

Re: Everlasting Mecha War (Infinite slots/ jump in at any time)
« Reply #104 on: April 28, 2012, 01:55:03 am »

This is most of the rules that I could find, I may try to assemble an abridged version.
So then, the idea behind this is post-apocalyptic mech wars- that never end.
I decided to join my own game, hopefully to example-ify the rules as they stand.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The only problem is is that it's out of order, but that really dosen't matter. Note that while a pilot should have their own mech, this is not mandatory in any way, shape, or form.

Entries will be accepted when:
You have enough pilots for your mechs total. You need 5 pilots for 5 mechs, but not 3 pilots for 1 mech (acceptable, not required)
You have it all under one spoilertag. Stop, hatin is bad. I know, but it's so I can put all your info down in one place really easily.
You have chosen your Theatre.
You have chosen your Base Blocks.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Mechs have three components, shells, cores, and mods.
The shell is the most basic of the suit, determining how many weapon slots a mech has and all stats except for Shields and Energy.
Cores are generators, they determine sheild strength and generator power.
Mods are parts that modify the basic stats of a shell and generator. They are not mandatory, but they are the most common drops.
The first three starter shells are:

---

Weapons come in three variants, metal, heat, and chemical.
I'll add this to the rules before I forget...
All rifles have a base range of 2-6 squares. They are maximally effective at 3-6 squares. Their accuracy suffers slightly (0.8) at 2 squares.
Launchers have a base range of 4-8 squares. They have no range stat modifiers.
Blades have a base range of 1-1 squares. They must be used when you are adjacent to an enemy.
Metal weapons do not have any fun modifiers.
Heat weapons cut through a shield with damage x1.2, but do less to a shell at x0.8
Chemical are reversed, x0.8 shield damage and x1.2 shell damage.

Weapon stats depend on the type of weapon.

There are also starting weapons to choose from:
