You can pool all of your questions here and hopefully me or someone else can answer. For anything that is some damn good advice, guides, downloads, whatelse i will post on this thread. Which leads to the point of unless you got professional experience or you got information from a reputable source (ie. college degree tech, www.bleepingcomputer.com), please do not give advice unless you know it works and will not endanger a person's device or privacy.

So as not to overwhelm Tellemurius and anyone else trying to help (like me), please be sure to try using the search function.  Failing that, please scan over The Generic Computer Computer Advice Thread.  It was another thread from last year for about this same purpose that I kind of took over.  I was extremely active in answering all questions that came in.  Too bad we couldn't get it stickied or anything...  There are other threads with this same purpose that I would encourage everyone to look over, but please don't necro them.

Too true.  Even then, there will be debates.  If there's one thing techs are known for it's debating.  Or drinking coffee.

So what are you building, a gaming rig?  A DF rig?  Workstation?  General purpose computer?

Me? im building a DF rig converted to gaming rig later. Basically i have usual computer standard parts but i won't get my graphics card either next month or so.

I'm guessing you're slapping in an i5 proc, the i7's still don't seem to be dramatically uber on clock-speed yet, which would be a nice thing to make them stand out more for most folks.

Hmmm...3.3Ghz i5 for about $208...not bad at all.

and i got it for $204 on newegg last month for a little sale


Graphics card im getting is the HD7850, for $250 i can get 1080HD gaming on high settings for any demanding games for years to come and it won't choke out my computer with heat or power requirements.

Well now see Nvidia's new GTX680 burns just as much as a 7850 but runs faster than the top 7970, all for i think it was priced $479 on newegg.

I've already been told that it's Win8, with pen support and at least 1 USB 3.0. That's...really all I know. Oh, and it's 10.1" and to compete with The New iPad.
