CONGRATULATIONS HUGEHEAD!!!

Welcome my friends and fellow Dwarves. I am here to present a gift to one lucky member of this forum. A Code for GUILD WARS 2.

This code is for the Digital Deluxe Edition, which is;

    Guild Wars 2 serial code (to activate the game at launch)
    Guaranteed access to Guild Wars 2 beta events
    Three day ‘headstart’ access to Guild Wars 2 at launch
    Exclusive ‘Hero’s Band’ in-game itself
    Five in-game items, including a Mistfire Wolf that will fight alongside players and a miniature Rytlock who will accompany them on their travels through Tyria.

So how do you get your hands on it, well this isn't just any kinda code tbh, so simply signing up for the RNG draw isn't going to be enough. I ask for a bit of effort to be made, as this is a full free access to this game, so I don't really want to know that the person that gets it isn't going to use it just cause they got randomly picked...

All the effort required is just a simple Paragraph or such on what and who your character is/will be, give me a bit of a backstory to your planned character and such. Its mainly so I can see that your really interested. Just don't panic if your backstory is shitty, you ain't judged on it, its just a stresstest to knowing how far you would go to get into Guild Wars 2. Naturally 'Escaped Lunatics' are not allowed access even with a masterpiece of a backstory unless I Personally know you via Steam or another community...

NOW the reason for the short sign up period, is mainly cause I don't want anyone missing out on getting into the next Beta Weekend, which last I heard, was coming up soon. Could be this weekend, could be next, I don't know. But just to be safe lets assume its this weekend. When the last day ticks over I will RNG the entrants and find the winner, who will receive the code and the link on where to go to lock it in...

Backstory:: I'm not sure what you mean by backstory. I'm gonna take it as what race and class. I've played online games for a while now and have played WoW since TBC. However I've begun to grow bored of it, the combat mechanics, the questing, the world. It's boring and out of date. I've been watching GW2 videos from Yogscast and TB since they started doing them. This game is fantastic, the diverse characters, the races, the world, the dynamic quests, the world pvp. This is a game that could set the standard for future MMOs and it's exciting.

Regarding the race I'm going to be, it has to be the Charr. How awesome are these guys? The way they move and run is brilliant and who can forget the Charrzooka?

My class choice may be a bit harder. I think what I'll most likely do is start a few and see which I enjoy the most. Elementalist looks amazing, with switching between the elements depending on what you want to do. The warrior also looks great, I love the traditional sword and shield style of gameplay so that is a usual choice for me. And the ranger because everyone loves a good ranges bow don't they? As well as the companion.

Okay, so to be honest, I've never played GW1, but it always seemed promising, and by the time I learned about GW1, GW2 was announced, and so here I am! Since you requested RP, I'm going to throw out an RP backstory for this dude.

So said character is a Warrior human (because I have never played GW1 and warriors are usually a great way to get a feel of the game). He was born and raised in Kamadan, and the human had the usual adventure lust and all, so he set out for adventure! He's mostly interested in fighting against fellow adventurers in the arena, for fame and glory. He mostly hates the Asura because they look like little goblins.

Anyway, this is really tentative, as I said, I have never played Guild Wars 1, but I am really excited by the concept of this game! I see the combat is a lot more action oriented, so that's a great point as well.

I will likely choose a Warrior or a Necromancer. Warrior because it sounds easy to play, though I would relish playing a mage style character in an MMORPG.

Reudh will be an Asura or a Charr probably. They sound interesting. I do tend to play human-shaped races, but playing an Asura or Charr would be interesting to me. He could be a nobleman... for warrior a nobleman defending his land, or if he's a necromancer, someone who was tempted with the power over life or death.

The day Eonis came into the world was the day that people would never forget. The moment she came out from her mother's womb, she displayed fiery aura that, strangely, raised the temperature around her but did not set things on fire. This, however, still scared off the people in the village she was born in, thinking Eonis' power could be come uncontrollable and dangerous. Her parents, fearing for Eonis' life, were forced to leave the village with her.

The mother, father, and baby Eonis traveled by horse cart, trying to reach a distant village, hoping they would be accepted there. When they reached Caledon Forest, they were suddenly attacked by wild cats. Her father died trying to fend off the animals and her mother suffered massive loss of blood when she literally used her body to shield Eonis from the claws and tooth of the cats. It was in the nick of time when a sylvary hunting party came to fend off the cats. They cared for Eonis' mother but it was too late for her. Before she passed away, she asked the sylvary to take care of Eonis, and the sylvary would honour her request.

Ten years after the tragic event, Eonis no longer had any recollection about it. All she knew about her parents was that they died to protect her and that a sylvary firstborn had taken care of her as if she was his own child. She had learned about her mystical power, which enabled her to produce and direct heat. However, she had to be extremely careful when practising her power to not burn any nearby trees. Eventually, while she was grateful for the care she had received from the sylvary and the forest that had been her home, she felt she was limiting the way she would be able to develop her power. She then decided to set out and venture on her own and perhaps try to discover the reason why she was gifted with such power.

Backstory:: Twiggy is a young female charr. She was born to a pair of lazy drunken gladia scum. Thanks largely to this fact she has to constantly utilise her intelligence and strength to rise through the ranks of the legion. She started at the very bottom but is determined to continue rising, no matter the cost. She is slightly xenophobic, and does not relish the prospect of joining forces with other races, though she is certainly not fool enough to let this hinder her own advancement. She thirsts for glory and never forgets those who spited her when she was younger. None shall resist the might of her hammer blows.

Profession: Elementalist (Water)
Back Story :: Dasii Elsio was born in a rural farming village on the outskirts of the land. Her Father was a bard and he played at the local tavern while her mother was a herbalist, she spent most of her days in the family garden, gathering the herbs she needed to ply her trade. Dasii often helped her mother over the years, learning quite a lot about herbology, which plants could save someone and which plants could harm them. When she came of age, she was tested for signs of magic, as was the village tradition. When she was found to have a magical aptitude, she was sent off to be trained as a mage. When she arrived at the academy, she was shocked to find out how different the city was from her rural farming village. After several days of adjustment she was brought before the academy council as all new students were, they questioned her for hours, asking about her past, her knowledge, her skills. After a few minutes of deliberation, the council decided that should would be trained in the ways of a Elementalist. The next two years were hard grueling work, she spent hours studying ancient texts, listening to lectures from her professors. She had passed the academy exam and could now call herself a Elementalist. She set off from the academy that day to make a name for herself, and to help as many as she can.

I am Norn. My heart is full of the songs of the spirits. The Wolf speaks to me each night, pacing this way and that in my dreams. Upon his brow is the shine of great wisdom and impossible opportunities. When I awaken, my fists are clenched and the ground around me battered.

I know now what I must do. After weeks of frustration, the Wolf has appeared to my waking eyes. The Norn do not kneel, but kneel I did to the great spirit. His breath was the wind of the north, his eyes the stars themselves, and from his massive chest I could hear the heartbeat of freedom, of the wild, of my soul.

He paces quietly before me, now, his eyes never leaving mine. I rise to follow him, compelled by a deep fury to prove myself to this, my only true lord. I approach him with reverence. He stills, but shows no threat. With a tentative hand, I touch his magnificent fur, feel the ancient and holy power it possesses.

We walk together. For ten days and nine nights, I feel neither hunger nor thirst. Only the raging heat of my blood reminds me that I am not myself a spirit. All the way down from the Far Shiverpeaks mountains, from the dominion of the Elder Ice Dragon Jormag, from the tallest reaches of the earth ... and to a crossroads.

Before me is a path, faint but clear to my experienced eyes. The great Wolf spirit leaves me here, and with him leaves others -- others I had not seen or felt, but who were with me the entire time -- the Great Bear, the Great Snow Leopard, even the Great Raven, who circled over head with size enough to darken the stars. Each looked at me. Into me. And left.

Now I must choose. I know instinctively that one direction will lead to a new life, to Hoelbrak and my people. The other will lead to my ending.

I held my head high and proud, as a Norn should. And chose.

I guess he did well enough with my ancestor and her progeny. After all, he chose the right people to flood this planet with his seed. And I swear, I'm going to track him down. I know he no longer exists in this world-- but that slippery one, the one unworthy of 'bookah', I will find him, and there will be a reckoning. He may have seduced my ancestor away from the Eternal Alchemy, but I will not be so soft.

I admit, I was a big GW fan and was superbly enthusiastic about GW2, until the cash shop deal came out... So I decided to put things off until a few betas to see how things shake down. Not sure if that'll hurt things, but ah well. Thank you for running this!

I don't have much planned for my character besides the biography options from the game. I'm going to make a Charr Necromancer from the Ash Legion. Since her father was a shaman she is sometimes looked down upon, but she doesn't worry about that because she feels that her actions are far more important than her ancestry. She can sometimes get a bit sidetracked from her duties as she studies necromancy independently, but she is still very loyal to her legion.
