Not only are Ocelots epic, but they are in Minecraft(which with mods is basically 3D Dwarf Fortress)

I've never played it, but I now consider Minecraft a great game.

meh, it's ok, not nearly as epic in complexity and epic surprises as DF. especially the exploding penises are annoying

See, if it had King Snakes there'd be no problem.

Those kobold that you sometimes find sneaking around your fortress? They're not thieves. They're adding a certain minced meat to your Plump helmet roasts.

I quite like dogs, myself. I like to think of hunting dogs as labradors.

My favorite animal is the wagon for its ability to bring me trade goods... Hmmm, now that I think about it that really doesn't count. In all honesty I don't pick favorites, but that doesn't mean I love everything either.

I hate ocelots, absolute despise them. Ever since I've known of their existence by playing Minecraft, I've wanted to kill them all! Mostly because when they were first added into the game they were tamable, but absolutely useless. Al they did was follow you around pushing you off cliffs, jumping off cliffs themselves, drowning, falling into magma, and just being plain irritating. So I just stared to slaughter them whenever I saw one. I also bred them solely so I could feed them into my mass ocelot genocide machine that I built to collect their experience points. I also used to do this with wolves, but at least they could be trained into dogs that helped you fight, that is, when they aren't jumping in front of the opponent while you're swinging your sword.

Other than the King Snakes themselves, at least.

You obviously weren't worthy of their company, and thus drove them to suicide/homicide by existing in the same location as them.

Mongooses, since they were the largest wild animals that lived near us. They ate rats (no snakes where I live) and generally keep to themselves. Their nervous system is also resistant to various toxins.

No, I had to travel pretty far to find them, as they're only located in jungles and I happened to live in a taiga. I wanted to see what they were like so I adventured a ways, tamed about seven, built a jungle outpost, and set of for home. When I got back all but three died (three from cliffs and two from drowning while I had them swim across the ocean as I rowed a boat), and when I finally got home another one died because you couldn't tell them to stop following you so they went with me into the caves and one jumped into magma. Right after that they released a patch that let you make them sit on command to stop them from following you. So I just told the last remaining two to sit out in the cold snow for about a month or two unfed while I finished the aforementioned project that would be the place all their newborn kittens would go, and eventually them. Good thing they were too brainless to run away.

Rutherers.
Ive managed to catch a whole herd. The females gave birth to triplets and then some.
The triplets are now tamed.

I cant help but picture them like my cat, who is hairy and has an extremely long, fluffy tail. Cant make them war animals but I stll love them.

It's not that they're brainless, Ocelots are just physically incapable of retreat. They either win, or honorably accept defeat. After tainting their presence with your unworthiness, suicide became their only option. Killing them off was the least you could do, as you clearly lacked the required level of awesome to care for the honorable and glorious Ocelot.

My favorite is Dingo's for their sheer numbers. Roving hordes of them and their man and giant variants seem to terrorize the countryside on every world I generate nowadays.

Are cutebolds considered animals?

Because I find it hard to kill them in adventure mode. I always take away their cute little copper weapons then make them pass out in a choke hold.

Obviously water bears (or Tardigrades for those taxonimists out there) are the best animal of all time. Here is the Wikipedia article for these invincible little creatures:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_Bears

To sum it up, water bears are able to replace all the water in their body with sugar. Turning them into basically invincible, undead gummi bears. They are able to survive nearly anything in the world, from volcanic hot springs to artic temperatures. and all they need to revive is a drop of water. They can last for an unknown period of time (the record is 100 years) and just basically awesome.

also, when one is in their undead gummi bear state, they are called a Tun, which is so close to !!FUN!! that they must be held in high regard around here.

Lastly, one of the many experiments to see how water bears do in space (they do very well by the way) was a European endeavor called TARDigrades In Space (TARDIS). :D
