I still prefer giant otters, just need to add trainable to them and you have war animals that swim.

I HAVE NO FAVOURITES.


(But when I do, I choose Kingsnakes and Eagles. Maybe Kakapos. Any spider. Whatever animal has instilled some respect with me at the time really. Like were civets, part time U-man, part time civet <3)

And for some reason, ravens.

Giant Eagles.  Because, Giant War Eagle, and their eggs are tasty in omelettes.

Haven't had any tame ones in some time, though.

Anything that is a giant, predatory killing machine, really. GDS, GCS, jabberers, cave crocs, cave dragons, giant eagles, giant felines, etc.

But my all time favorite is the giant desert scorpion, since I bred them in v0.31.20 and used them against gobbo sieges. Great fun, especially when they start to pick some random item and pummel gobbos with it.

Sadly it does not exist in Dwarf Fortress, so the Giant Desert Crossbow Scorpion is the best aminal.

Honestly, a Kodkod is like something you would downgrade to if you wanted an Ocelot but couldn't quite handle all of the pure, untainted adorableness of it. And adorableness of that caliber easily beats out any kind of usefulness a GDS(or GDCS) could ever offer.
