How do I get a dwarf to carry this.  I need a dwarf to carry this.

Isn't there an outside chance that a dwarf can be freakishly huge enough to pick it up?

Failing that, I am open to cheating.  (My first option would be surgically grafting it into/onto my champion, but I don't think DFHack can do that yet.)

Or, hell:  will captured hostile entities pick up weapons?  I would also feel massive satisfaction if I could somehow get Ngokang Usnarūd (Worker Ant Woman Animal Trainer necromancer) to pick it up and wield it.

Really.  Anything works.  I just need to see something holding it and using it to send severed parts sailing off in an arc.  It doesn't matter which something, or whose severed somethings.

Use a dwarven daycare, drop a baby as soon as it can walk down a pit with vile dogs. It will eventually get ultra-dwarvenly strong, thus giant. It will be big enough to get it.

I don't think a dwarf's size changes significantly with stat increases, but I may be wrong.

It's easy to add greataxes to the dwarf entity file, but that just allows you to make them, and doesn't affect wieldable size, and requires a new world anyways.  You can change the size requirement for greataxes in the weapon file, but I don't know if that would work without genning a new world.

You should be able to just reduce the minimum size in the raws of the specific save file you want it in. If you change it in the main DF raws it won't change it for your world, but changing it, again, in the save file will make it work.

They don't--but they do change with overall BODY_APPEARANCE_MODIFIERS (HEIGHT, BROADNESS, and LENGTH).

Ooo, so 3/49 dwarves can wield this ONE HANDED??

Ya, make a daycare, then put then straight on pumps the moment you can assign labors. Get a dwarven GOD to wield that sucker.

I know quality effects armor ability to block, does it effect weapons ability to damage? If so, an addy great axe... I think you got a winner there:p

Just do a census and draft the tallest, widest dwarves you can find.  One of them should be able to use it, maybe even one handed.

The only thing that happened in general was the death of 71% of the fort, and that wasn't really worth mentioning.

They disappear into oblivion once your fortress ends, and if you use one of the preserving methods and find it in adventure mode, weird duplications occur e.t.c.

Although having several artifact candy great axes isn't a terribly negative thing

Is this a new thing? I remember finding an artifact iron spear in one of my old forts.

It's been around for a while. Though putting artifacts in buildings (and supposedly bins, but I've never done this before) protects them from destruction

Wow dwarves have a hard time wielding foreign weapons? I guess it's lucky that my champion is dual-wielding 2h longswords with a buckler on each arm then ey. :D
